You may also try using IngePE to destroy all of the SNAPs, but that part is untested.
I've been doing it for a while without any problem. The game just generates Sims' thumbnails the next time you click on the relationship panel.

I'm curious about IMGs in the save files. They look suspiciously like some kind of img caches to me, like the ones found in the cache files.
2  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomemod Request Thread on: 2011 November 05, 09:59:00
Could you make big inventions like Miners or Floor Hygienators stack, like you did for rocks?
3  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Long save time on: 2011 October 30, 09:36:42
It's an old neighbourhood, about 950 Mb in size but still, 1.5 hours?
Out of curiosity, how long does it take for your game to load, if it takes 1.5 hours just to save?
And when you said "950 Mb in size", did you mean the whole save folder (including vacation 'hoods), or just .nhd file for the main 'hood?

The save file bloat and increasingly longer loading time is the one reason that I don't play TS3 as much as I used to play TS2. It's hard to develop any attachment to the game when you know that the eventual save file bloat will make the game almost unplayable.
4  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2011 October 24, 12:14:07
About the consignment store b0rkedness: When you cancel unsold sculptures at the consignment store, most of the cancelled items do not go back to family inventory. Instead, they stuck in the Sim's personal inventory. You can't drag them back to the world. Either you have to consign and sell them again, or you have to nuke them.

I'm not sure if this bug have been fixed in Pets, as I didn't install the EP yet. Can anyone confirm it?
5  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Photography skill and camera bug on: 2011 October 13, 14:03:28
Do cameras work in your game even when one of your Sims has an opportunity?

Ever since Generations came out, I gave up on Photography skill altogether. Subsequent patches never fixed it. Applying all previous EP patches didn't help either. Sometimes travelling or buying a new one unstick cameras, but only if no Sim has an opportunity.
6  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Robot can't order omni seed? on: 2011 October 12, 14:23:29
I don't have Barnacle Bay either, and the omni plant seed order has stopped working some EPs ago. I think LN broke it, but I'm not too sure. Also the Sim in question was not a SimBot.
In fact, it seems that EA failed to update omni plant properly in LN, for not only the seed order was broken, but LN fish can't be replicated with omni plant either. Like career books, you can feed LN fish into omni plant, but they can never be harvested, regardless of their growth state. You have no choice but to dispose of the plant (thus losing your fish and career books.)  I learned it hard way when I tried to replicate Sea Sludges to use as fertilizers.
7  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Updating my CC: BCON files on: 2010 March 27, 12:21:44
I'm updating my CC using Lord Darcy's old Update Resource files. All has been going well until I started to update some bookcases using: Bookcase_UpdatedResources_FT.
It requires that I update BCON but my CC bookcase has no BCON files in the resource tree of Simpe. How do I update or add the BCON files?

Pre-OFB custom bookcases do not have that BCON, it was introduced in OFB for owned business lots. Right-click on Resource List window and add BCON.

Check my tutorial about updating fridges for the detailed instruction. There is a step about adding a new BHAV to custom fridges.
8  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Need help tewaking EAxis clothing on: 2009 May 14, 11:34:43
Did I forget to say? Version 0x00000001 and product 0x00000001 removes CC-star, but does not help enable for YA.
Actually, any Version higher than 0x02 (Uni & NL) will work for YAs. Just don't use version 0x01.

I don' know how or why it works, but version to 0x00000006 and product 0x00000001 seems to do the trick.
For Base Game outfit overrides, it's better to use version 0x02 or 0x03. There was some incompatibility issue involving "parts" value which was introduced in Pets.
9  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Need help tewaking EAxis clothing on: 2009 May 14, 11:22:05
If I set flag to 0x00000010, version to 0x00000003 and product to 0x00000000, the clothes show up, but with a CC star (which is unacceptable to by OCD).
AFAIR, product for Base Game is 0x01.

http://www.sims2wiki.info/wiki.php?title=2C1FD8A1#version

Setting the flag right is for some reason essential for correct townification.
From what I've seen, it seems that only the last bit matters. Outfits with flag 0x000000X0 are townie-enabled, while outfits with flag 0x000000X8 are townie-disabled.

TSstore outfits have flag 0x00000000, version 0x00000006, product 0x0000000D, no CC-star (or other EP mark) and do work for YA, but appear in front of all other EPs in the catalogue, not at the end where the base game outfits should go.
Now that Store Edition is treated like the newest (and the last) SP for TS2, it makes sense that they appear in front of all other EPs in the catalogue.

I understand that dumping the files in "\TSData\Res\Catalog\Bins" or some such like will take away the star
No. Unlike objects or OBJD overrides, AFAIK Star of Shame has nothing to do with the location of Property Set overrides. It's about disabling the delete button in the cataloge. If you don't mind the delete button enabled, they work just fine in Downloads folder.
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: BHAV help? on: 2009 May 09, 06:26:36
I didn't know that "CT - Support" BHAV doesn't work with stages. Perhaps you can look into Reyn's two modular stairs? They seem to work with stages.  In fact, Sims think as if there is nothing blocking their way. They even pass through the bottom step tile, just like when footprint is completely removed from an object. Reyn credited Numenor for the tweaks on her modular stairs.
11  Darcyland / Lord Darcy Investigates / Re: Pie Menu Text Strings Fix (Updated 2009/03/27) on: 2009 May 02, 14:53:29
2009-05-02: Updated to v1.13. Fixed several Traditional Chinese strings. If I missed something, please let me know.

I would also suggest to replace "Переехать в квартиру" (which means "move into the apartment") with "Снимать квартиру вместе" ("Rent an apartment together), because there is no actual word for a roommate in russian.
Fixed in the new version.
12  Darcyland / Lord Darcy Investigates / Re: Pie Menu Text Strings Fix (Updated 2009/03/27) on: 2009 April 30, 15:52:34
Which verb should I use for "Drink", 喝 or 飲用? Also, wrong potion names again. Roll Eyes
I'm not very sure since they are somewhat exchangeable.
Personally I prefer 飲用, because 喝 is more often used in daily life and for regular drinks;
飲用, as a more formal form, would be more suitable for these not-so-regular potions.

I forgot that there IS actually an official EAxian string for "Drink.../(potion name)" in Castaway Stories, which can be found in Awesome CS conversions. EAxis used 喝 for this string. ("喝藥水.../") I already used this string in my fix, so that "Drink (potion)" in Sim pie menu will be merged under "Drink.../(potion)"

If both verbs are exchangeable, I think that it's better to stick with 喝, keeping consistent with official EAxian strings.

I'm playing the english version of the game, but I could install on my laptop and play-test the russian if needed. I still remember the funny times with the first sims when my friend had russian version installed and the "fill bowl" (in unleashed) was translated into russian like "fill aquarium".
I noticed a couple of glaring mistakes in PersonGlobals, i.e. "Propose.../Be Roommate" is translated into "Сделать предложение.../Переехать в квартиру", while other Propose functions use "Предложить.../", resulting in an orphaned submenu. Is "Предложить.../Переехать в квартиру" grammatically correct?
13  Darcyland / Lord Darcy Investigates / Re: Pie Menu Text Strings Fix (Updated 2009/03/27) on: 2009 April 28, 15:44:39
I have AL and M&G installed, as well as your great objects fix collection... v1.02.
I downloaded it from MTS2 site and it works now. Sorry for not knowing about such an awesome place before.  Wink
Oh damn. Looks like they used a DB backup from several months ago after their server crashed.  Tongue Thanks for the heads up.

I already fixed cluttered "Buy Potion..." menu on Gypsy and Grand Witch in Traditional Chinese. Have you tested it in your game? Is anything wrong? Like incorrect potion names?
I'll post the new version as soon as I get confirmation from you.
The translations are all correct except a whitespace before dash in:
吸血盤尼西林- D  ->  吸血盤尼西林 - D
The latter, which currently have only a subchoice "buy 1", is correspondent with the translation in the spellbook so I think it correct.
Noted. "Influence To.../Drink Vamprocillin-D" will also be fixed accordingly.

Found yet moar inconsistency with potions.

影響.../喝吸血盤尼西林 - D($local:0)
影響.../飲用化狼人B群($local:0)
影響.../飲用種植多旋C($local:0)
影響.../飲用去女巫-E($local:0)
影響.../喝神奇狗尾原液($local:0)
影響.../喝神奇辣味糖($local:0)

Which verb should I use for "Drink", 喝 or 飲用? Also, wrong potion names again. Roll Eyes

Phones: (And sim-self if having cellphone in the inventory)
 X)辦派對...
 O)舉辦派對...
Action: 新年倒數
New Year's Party glitch was already fixed in my SP Objects Fix Collection for AL. Read this post for more information.

I attached a separate fix for people who don't have AL or M&G, because jordi's fix only works for English.
It should go to Overrides folder of your latest EP.

C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 <your latest EP>\TSData\Res\Overrides
(or the corresponding folder on your system if your game is not installed in C:\Program Files)

ETA: Further investigation revealed more mistakes in PersonGlobals.

Play.../Toss $Object in Air  (for toddlers)

Play.../Steal A Bite & Play.../Throw Food  (NL dining interactions)

Play.../Show Off.../Cartwheel  (I believe they are from OFB)
Play.../Show Off.../Somersault
Play.../Show Off.../Headstand

Play.../Peek-A-Boo  (from AL)
Play.../Swing Around & Play.../Swing Me Around

All of above interactions will show up under "玩耍...", including Pets interactions like Finger Wiggle or Fetch.
15  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Store edition and missing objects on: 2009 April 27, 11:17:44
Store objects have their own group, so HCDU thinks they are global hacks. You can safely ignore them.

Phones: (And sim-self if having cellphone in the inventory)
 X)辦派對...
 O)舉辦派對...
Forgot about Party phone call. I need the exact Party interaction names which show up under "辦派對...".

Stoves, Ovens, Fridges:
 X)製許多的...
 O)製作許多的...
Is it for orphaned "Make Many.../Single Plates..." menu?
17  Darcyland / Lord Darcy Investigates / Re: Pie Menu Text Strings Fix (Updated 2009/03/27) on: 2009 April 20, 15:29:27
Other Sims:
1. X)玩...
   O)玩耍...
Please give me the exact Play interaction names which are wrongly categorized under "玩...", with their English names or descriptions. There are so many Play interactions from various EPs that I may miss some of them.

2. X)親吻
   O)親吻...
Again, please give me the exact Kiss interaction names. From the look of it, I guess it's from AL.

3. Dance:
There are some complication about dance. The "Dance...>Together | Slow Dance | Classic" is somehow splitted.
    Could this be fixed?
Yes. This issue was raised earlier in this thread, which I already fixed for several languages.
18  Darcyland / Lord Darcy Investigates / Re: Pie Menu Text Strings Fix (Updated 2009/03/27) on: 2009 April 19, 02:13:16
I am using a Traditonal Chinese version and want to raise requests.
Should I request in Chinese?
Yes. People contribute corrections for their own language, and I include them in the next version. I already fixed several glaring errors in Traditional Chinese, like cluttered fridge menu.

Bookcases:
 X) 學習…
 O) 學習...
It's one of those "ellipsis character vs. three dots" thing, isn't it? Will be fixed in the next version.
19  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: I've lost a file. Literally lost. on: 2009 April 13, 12:20:19
If you had indeed downloaded my FT career outfit unlocker, it should be located here:

C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 <YOUR LATEST EP>\TSData\Res\Catalog\Skins

The filename is zLdDarcy_Unlocked-EP7-Career-Outfits.package.
Look under every \Skins folder under every EP, just in case.

Edit: Wondering if this is true, because doesn't Lord Darcy's mod move a couple of the outfits out of Everyday?
My mod doesn't move them out of Everyday; they are assigned to another category in addition to Everyday. Or, in case of female Food Judge outfits, they are removed from formal but still show up under Everyday. It was an old version of Phaenoh's clothing migration mod which broke careers by moving career outfits out of Everyday.
20  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Stuff Collections on: 2009 April 11, 02:23:31
For those distracted by the arguing, I have tried to fix the items for non-Store Edition owners and the files can be downloaded here: http://www.mediafire.com/?1zada0wb054

Please let me know if they work.

I dl'ed them, they show up fine in the Children's Section but when i click on them to buy/place, i get a "Bad Gosub Tree" error (attaching log).

Latest EP is Season's, which probably makes a difference.
Your log confirms my suspicion that this baby object was originally planned to be included in AL, but cut at the last minute. This object calls a new semiglobal named "BouncyToddlerObjectGlobals", which can be found only in AL and M&G. Greedy bastards. Angry

I extracted BHAVs, BCON and TXTRs in a single package. Hope it works.
Don't download it if you already have AL or M&G.
Not working, sorry. Cry
21  Darcyland / Lord Darcy Investigates / Re: Pie Menu Text Strings Fix (Updated 2009/03/27) on: 2009 April 08, 12:06:14
Duplicate "Throw Party" glitch in UK English and many other languages was fixed in my SP Objects Fix Collection for AL. It's not included in Pie Menu fix, because it doesn't work in Downloads folder.

If you don't have AL or M&G, use this separate fix.
22  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Updating CC Vanity? on: 2009 April 08, 12:00:13
Why do you want to update custom vanity tables in the first place? It's not like you can use vanity tables to change toddlers' or pets' appearance, which is the only reason that custom mirrors require update. BV and OFB only added 1 or 2 lines in some BHAVs to exclude Servos and Bigfoot, AFAIK.

If you want to prevent Servos and Bigfoot from using vanity tables, take a look at Ambular's Ethan Allen vanity table. I helped Ambular with her set, so that her vanity table is compatible with every EP except for base game. (Uni is no longer required.)

You've been registered here long enough to know that MATYzens will poke you with a sharp stick for your shitty grammar. Punctuations, learn to use it. Shift key, find it.
23  Darcyland / Lord Darcy Investigates / FreeTime Wall Phone Ring FX Fix on: 2009 April 06, 12:04:28

This mod fixes the wrong angle of ring FX in FreeTime wall phone (TalkTime Phonality with Mounting Bracket), as shown in the screenshot.

You have to sell and rebuy the existing FT wall phones on the lot to pick up the change.

Note: Base Game wall phone has an additional FX for handset, which is missing in both Pets and FT wall phones. I'm not sure whether it's an intentional omission or yet another EAxian mistake.

Installation:

Place in your My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads folder.
(Or in a subfolder of Downloads folder.)

Changelog:

 v1.0: Initial Release.
24  Darcyland / Lord Darcy Investigates / Re: Pie Menu Text Strings Fix (Updated 2009/03/27) on: 2009 March 27, 12:38:09
2009-01-24: Updated to v1.11. Added Building Party Phone Call, ComputerGlobals and OFB Craftables.
This time, "Read Sections.../(hobby)" menu was really fixed in German and Brazilian Portuguese.
Chili Con Carne and Grandma's Comfort Soup use "Grab a Bowl" instead of "Grab a Plate".

In French, "Make" is translate into "Faire". "Faire" is too general and not enough specific. "Créer" is more appropriate.
But it will be better if we have (in French) a specific verb for every craftable, but it will not match others languages and it would be redundant.
As per your suggestion, I changed both "Gestion.../Fabriquer plusieurs.../" and "Gestion.../Composer plusieurs.../" to "Gestion.../Créer plusieurs.../". This only applies to Management menu on employees. Strings for crafting stations themselves were not altered, they still use "Fabriquer" and "Composer".

2009-03-27: Updated to v1.12. Added Phone Call - Magazines - Subscribe, computers, Drama TV channel and OrchardTreeGlobals.

"Drink (potion)" in Sim pie menu will be merged under "Drink.../(potion)", just like CS potions.
25  Darcyland / Lord Darcy Investigates / Re: Ramen Fix (Updated 2008/08/25) 2 alternative versions added on: 2009 March 22, 04:22:59
If you remove this fix, you should discard all cooked ramen bowls stored in Sims' inventory, because they will flash blue due to missing texture. (Except for ShadowOnly version, which only fixes shadow texture.) Newly cooked ramen bowls will be fine, and they will display the BV ramen texture again.

If you prefer BV ramen texture, use ShadowOnly version.
