Ok, file worked...  but only the fire, pizza, shrub and newspaper actually work.  The other items can't be placed.  I've tried move objects on, I've truid build and buy modes.  Am I missing something?

You have a buyable newspaper, Pescado?  Do I need to go poke Gwill so that I can leave my sims' personalities un-screwed-with?

Yes, yes, I know there's probably a better word/term to use than "un-screwed-with", but there's a reason I teach maths, and I just can't think of one right now!

Can anyone help me out by telling me just how many nice points a sim needs to stop stealing newspapers?

I do want to point out that the newspapers are NOT being stolen due to furiousness - I just have a lot of very mean sims! 

I'm so sick of having no newspapers around when I need them that I'm quite prepared to adjust sim personalities as necessary - the thefts must stop!

I have BV.  I have TSS.  I have no tree problem.  I'm running from the BV exe file.

Don't recall patching either seasons or BV, but I could be wrong.

That's the first time any CC showed before a restart - every other time I've had to restart before CAS stuff will show - it's why it struck me as so odd this time.

When I installed TSS, I found that most CC in CAS showed up without a reboot, but no CC available in buy/build mode showed up until I had rebooted.  It was a little confusing for a while, but we got there in the end.

I think that's the key to it all - understand the limitations of your system, stick within them and you can enjoy your game so much more.

Not always, Lerf.  Didn't solve the problem with my house - only the walls did!

Put a sunken hot tub in a flat tiled roof, and it snows through the roof.  Was not impressed to discover that one!

I've had problems with rooves since seasons too.  Especially the maxis modern masterpiece where shed rooves form the upper story - snow wasn't getting in (which I've had in other houses), but the temperature would drop and freeze my sims while sleeping upstairs.  I got around that one with some extra walls inside...  but it seems that some of the more interesting roof structures are now unusable and borked completely when it comes to seasons.

Haven't had the social worker show up and make a sim pregnant, though.

The fix located in the second post has worked.  This was the correct thing to do, yes?

File downloaded, edited and run...  Can't report back on the workingness or otherwise of said fix until I get home from work in about 9-10 hours time.

And Pescado, no I have not seen the latest Ness-sighting.  Your site is doing everything way too slow to make loading pictures (or even most threads!) possible!

Seems Eaxis have done it again - wrong version of the stuff pack (TSS) shipped to Australia.  Same problem results - clock switches to 24 hour time.

With the "force 12 hour clock" option added with BV, I assumed it wouldn't be a problem.  Wrong!  Seems to need to be set for every single play session.

Is there any way to make it permanent?

Nope, you get absolutely nothing for collecting all the vacation memories.  Nothing at all. 

Throw autumn and the far east vacation souvenirs into the mix and I seriously start wishing that the baby controller would acknowledge the xylophone.  I'm sick of having to delete all the other toys to make the ankle biters start building creativity when logic and charisma are at 8.
