101  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: OMGWTFBBQ BFBVFS! (no build mode function sort) on: 2007 October 08, 01:19:18
I've had the same glitch.  Fiddling has never brought things back, though.  Perhaps I don't fiddle the right way.  Everything has always returned to normal when I load another lot, or the same one.  Nothing has blown up permanently yet.
102  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / An odd want on: 2007 October 08, 01:00:21
Had to share this.  Note, knowledge sim.  Also note that the sim she wants to inherit money from is her husband, they have the typical 100/100 relationship and he is FAR from even aging to elder.  Never seen anything like it before!

103  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: So...um...did my sim do a double major or something? on: 2007 October 07, 07:36:33
One day I will.  But not yet.  Nice to know I'm missed, anyway.
104  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: So...um...did my sim do a double major or something? on: 2007 October 07, 07:03:07
Does Gwill even know it exists to be able to request it?  And will a request from a Ness suffice to get it released? Please?
105  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: AutoYakYak Macro Phone Caller (10/25/06) on: 2007 October 07, 06:55:56
I'm finding that I'm not really liking autoyak deciding that it doesn't need to call particular sims.  It seems to leave my teen sims in permanent social desperation unless I want to sit there and manually call sims.  I've got several teen sims in different houses where the social is in the absolute red, they have several friends with STR in the 60-80 range (or thereabouts) and autoyak isn't even making the call friends option available for them.

Please fix?  Doesn't seem so bad with other ages, but this feature is killing my teens!
106  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: No cook showing up in dormitories on: 2007 October 06, 14:00:13
The most expensive stove is NOT the one you need - definitely your problem there.
107  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Cleaning up Characters? on: 2007 October 06, 00:43:13
Hadn't thought of that...  I don't think I want to be the person to try it and find out, either!
108  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Cleaning up Characters? on: 2007 October 05, 21:31:39
Since BV it is possible to delete subhoods without first adding another of the same type.  This possibly even came in with seasons, but it was after BV that I noticed the trashcan was no longer greyed out with only one subhood of that type.  It still dumps the residents into the sim bin, though.
109  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Judgement Call: Bon Voyage on: 2007 October 05, 07:44:03
I thought the last line was along the lines of "a pirates life for me"...  But I try not to listen too closely when I let my sims learn it.  Undecided
110  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Cleaning up Characters? on: 2007 October 04, 00:00:37
Pescado did give a suggestion way back in the first reply...  deleted 2.  But, the consensus seems to be your hood = toast.  Start over.  Do we need to say this another 50 times?
111  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Cleaning up Characters? on: 2007 October 03, 23:27:58
You do realise that if things went wrong at the merge neighbourhoods point, it would really only become apparent as you played?  The problems that too many characters, unlinked characters, and all those other bad things cause don't show up straight away.  They slowly become more and more obvious as your game appears more and more borked with time.  The BFBVFS is not an immediate thing - the lead up to it is slow, but the end result is pretty spectacular, as you appear to be discovering.

End result: You're screwed.  Start over.

If you value your friend's opinion and skills so highly, why aren't you talking to them instead of people at MATY?

If everything that is said to you is going to be rejected with "but my friend said...", what really is the point of continuing to ask questions?
113  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bon Voyage inconsistently refusing to load! on: 2007 October 02, 23:02:59
ARRRGGHH!!!

new problem - I'm now getting an error message "please insert the original disc instead of a backup (1000).

Only problem is that it is the original disc.

I'm not normally one for no cd cracks and such, but this sodding game seems to be forcing my hand right now!

Erm...  was that me?  I thought it was jsalemi's suggestion.

Have I mentioned that I have an excellent forgetory?
115  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bon Voyage inconsistently refusing to load! on: 2007 October 02, 04:47:28
Just wanted to add...  since being reminded of deleting groups cache (something I always forget), I'm finding that when BV gets in a snit about loading, deleting groups cache seems to ensure that it will actually load with the next attempt.  It's still a dance through task manager to kill the process first, but at least it appears to be only once.

Only twice so far, so not an exhaustive test just yet, but it does appear promising.

You could try removing nouniprotect if the idea of dead dormies is somehow offensive to you.
There you go, stating the obvious again. Smiley

It takes true skill to do that!  Wink  Comes from being a high school teacher and needing to point out the bleeding obvious on a daily basis.

XP pro. SP2, not sure on admin status.

119  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bon Voyage inconsistently refusing to load! on: 2007 September 28, 21:36:17
Same problem here.  Pretty much identical situation to Gwill apart from it being a CD version.

Gets really frustrating having to keep opening task manager and kill the process and try again over and over and over...

Ideas would be helpful!

Maybe your servo was just feeling suicidal?
121  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bon Voyage dissatisfaction on: 2007 September 21, 07:49:24
I burninated my test hood with the adopted bigfoot - I don't recall his skin not being showerproof at all, but I do recall that BUY refused to ever see him as clean.
122  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Hacking the Aspiration Meter - Is it possible? on: 2007 September 14, 21:02:45
If they didn't have a fear of losing their job or being demoted, then there's really nothing that can impact on the aspiration meter.  I know it makes no sense when seen in the light of the physical world, but it makes sense under the constraints of the game.
123  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Too much money on: 2007 September 14, 11:50:30
Why not spend thousands on clothes?  Kitting the whole family out every few days should make serious holes in the bank balance!

And make trying to make any wardrobe adjustments a complete pain in the butt!
124  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Hacking the Aspiration Meter - Is it possible? on: 2007 September 13, 21:13:01
Hook at one stage managed to change the rate of decay for perma-plat only sims in his semi-perma-plat hack.  Might be worth talking to him or checking it out for ideas.

As far as I can tell, nothing special happens when you get all the vacation memories filled.  Nothing at all.
Tell me it isn't true!  Shocked

Afraid I can't do that.  Sad  Surely someone else has done it and can confirm?  Anyone?
