1) I'd love a hack that would allow the sims to place all of their inventory items in a chest, all at once, and to remove everything from the chest into their inventory. This way I could have the inventory items from a sim about to die be passed along much more easily.

Exists. Look for an Inventory Transfer Vase by Godknowswho on MTS2.

Here's the link.
Inventory Transfer Vase

In fact, you can just "Give gift" and transfer the whole contents of the inventory to another Sim. No hack needed -- though I don't remember if this interaction was introduced with Seasons or with Free Time.

But then you have to click every item in inventory, which is extremely time-consuming.

Looks like KBS shower isn't present in this lot. If this error is indeed related to the KBS shower, the object name should be Shower - Stylish, not Shower - Cheap, which means base game cheap shower (or custom showers cloned from it).   Do you still get this error in the hack-free game except this mod? In all lots, or only in some lots?
553  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Buying and selling novels on: 2008 April 26, 07:14:35
There is a cheaty trick to duplicate small objects exploiting inventory panel. Put a small object on an end table, and put the table in inventory with the object on. Take the table out from inventory, remove the object from the table and put it on the ground, and put the table again in inventory. Do not go into Live mode, but select aspiration rewards panel, and go back to inventory panel. The end table is still in the inventory with the small object on. Repeat it as many times as you want.

Haven't tried this trick on custom novels yet. Better to save the game beforehand so that you don't accidentally lose custom novels.
554  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Updating CC for FT on: 2008 April 25, 14:29:18
Now I'm trying to update the changing tables for SS. It's bugged me for a very long time that my CC tables didn't have the outerwear option and none of the creators have updated them. So thanks for giving us the tools to do this ourselves. Problem though, I'm somewhat confused...Go figure! I'm confused with having to compare the resources. All my changing tables were cloned from the sanitation station, so what am I looking for when I'm comparing the resources? And since I know they were cloned from the sanitation station do I still need to compare the resource files or can I just replace all the files?

No need to compare resources for changing tables yourself. I already did the dirty work and supplied the updated resources. Just replace/add resources included in the attachment. The above instruction is only a general guideline, in case you want to update other type of objects for which I didn't supply updater package.

One thing I noticed in my comparison was 1 resource in BHAV was missing 0x00001025. So I assume that means I only need to add that file to the CC table, right...but do I still need to replace all the other resources that were included in the download for BHAV?

Yes, missing BHAVs without matching Instance number need to be added, and existing BHAVs with matching Instance number need to be replaced. There is a short instruction in the second post on how to use the files I supplied.
555  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Updated Resources for Showers on: 2008 April 25, 07:08:16
A rather tardy update, as I was busy cleaning up Kitchen crap mess these days.

Ok, I figured out 'the not being able to work on things in Simpe' thing (see post before last for my weird rambling rant).  For some reason, I can't work on a package in Simpe if I open it in Object Workshop, but I can if I scan folders and then open it up from there.  Weird huh?

Why did you open it in Object Workshop in the first place? You're not supposed to open it from OW unless you're cloning an object. Open package files in the top menu or toolbar.

I was now wondering if anyone can tell me exactly what bits to replace if I want to update my CC showers so I can tinker with them?

Attached required files. Should work for any showers, cheap or expensive. Don't use it on showertubs.

Oh, and phones  Roll Eyes

As I'm using Pescado's phonehack, which seems to override all functions of both Maxis and custom phones, I'm not interested in updating custom phones themselves. If you have phonehack, all functions of custom phones will be automatically updated to the latest EP.

Edit: There is a new updater package for fridges in this post. Added missing 2 resources for fridges. They are not really vital, so you don't really have to reapply them to already updated fridges.

Will you be doing the 3 outfits from the double deluxe pre-order bonus and the jukebox from the deluxe?

Geez, I didn't even know Double Deluxe preorders were up in Exclusives! Have some patience.

Havelock already posted a recolourable version of Deluxe preorder Jukebox in Peasantry, along with several recolors. Search for jukebox in Peasantry.

Yes.

RubberDucky and DirectorsChair are included in FT set.

This is really great, especially for Music & Dance hobby Sims. The NL 9-tile Karaoke is not really suitable for home use. Thanks for all your work bringing Stories stuff into the Real Game.

As of FT, career outfits are no longer added to family wardrobe, a throwback to the base game days. I made a fix enabling career outfits to be added to family wardrobe again like all pre-FT EPs since Uni. Get it here if you're interested.
561  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Career clothing not available? on: 2008 April 23, 11:27:28
As of FT, career outfits are no longer added to family wardrobe, a throwback to the base game days. They were unlocked in CAS/buy catalog in unpatched game, but FT patch hid them from CAS as well. So unless you're creating fresh Sims in CAS or using FFS clothing tool/clothing unlockers, they are now inaccessible.

Some may prefer the way it used to be. I made a simple mod with a BHAV yoinked from BV object.package, which enables career outfits to be added to family wardrobe again like all pre-FT EPs since Uni.
562  Darcyland / Lord Darcy Investigates / Re: Missing Default Wedding Dress Restored for Kitchen & Bath Stuff Pack on: 2008 April 23, 04:21:04
Lord Darcy have you noticed since installing KBID that this outfit from FT is missing:

http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p163/oceanblue84/MTS2_HomestarRunner20X6_749941_Span.jpg

Or is it just my game? I tried it in a completely vanilla game and I still can't see it. Could this be another outfit KBID screwed up?

Have you patched FT? FT patch hid it from CAS, along with other FT career outfits. I believe this outfit is from Dance career track.
Career outfits are usually hidden from CAS. I was surprised to find that all those career outfits were available in CAS without debug mode on. FT patch merely restored status quo ante. Not sure if installing KBID has the same effect though.
563  Darcyland / Lord Darcy Investigates / Re: Kitchen & Bath Stuff Objects Fix - Missing Seasons/FT Functions Enabled on: 2008 April 23, 02:17:07
I installed the fix from Lord Darcy[thank you] and proceeded to play only to find I still have none of the functions working[no tinkering, repairs, etc.] The fridge/leftover function does work but now the clean up bot leaves plates everywhere and there are no actions to pick them up.

Are you sure you chose the correct version for your game? SNS version only enables Get Leftovers/Stock/Compost, while FT version enables Serve Platters/Tinker in addition to SNS functions. If you have FT but installed SNS version fix, you'll get Leftovers but not Tinker.

"Clean up" function doesn't come up on plates? But this mod doesn't alter anything about plate itself. Did you try it in hack-free vanilla game?
564  Darcyland / Lord Darcy Investigates / Re: Decustomized and Updated Maxis Official Objects/Clothing (Updated 2008-04-22 on: 2008 April 23, 01:47:04
I very stupidly downloaded and installed some of those objects as bundles, that had to be put somewhere in the gamefiles. I think I got those files from the peasantry as well.

You downloaded this version by Argon:
http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,6075.0.html

Stupid me just canīt remember wherever I put those files and they must be overriding yours I put in the Download folder, as my GLS TV does not display the FT options.

C:\-Path to Sims 2-\The Sims 2\TSData\Res\Catalog\Bins

AFAIR, all 3 GLS objects were integrated into one file called GLS.bundle.package in Argon's version. I made a separate package for each object, as some people only want functional objects without more decoratives to clutter up catalog.

Argon's "bundled" version is not really different from mine. In fact, I followed Argon's example in my version, integrating separate MMAT files into the main 3D file as well. You can use Argon's version in Downloads folder just like any other cc. He only suggested the above path so that official EAxis downloads aren't packaged into lots, resulting in bloated Sims2Packs. Plus you can avoid annoying custom star in thumbnails. I'm doing the same thing with my version in my game, putting all my preorder and official downloads in a subfolder under this path:

C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 [Your Latest Expansion Pack]\TSData\Res\Catalog\Bins

(or the corresponding folder on your system if your game is not installed in C:\Program Files)

It's really great if you can remember the location you put the files. I hate custom star in official downloads, which should have been included in the game itself if greedy EAxis didn't cut them into separate promos.

Get thyself to MTS2, and download the Clean Installer.  Let it scan your Downloads directory, sort on the MD5 number, and duplicate files will be highlighted in pink.  Just delete the one with the older install date, and you good to go.

Clean Installer will not be of help in this case, as OP put the files not in Downloads folder but in game files folder.

566  Darcyland / Lord Darcy Investigates / Re: Decustomized and Updated Maxis Official Objects/Clothing (Updated 2008-04-21 on: 2008 April 22, 00:18:51
I hate to be a bother, but, could you do the 4 outfits from H&M Fashion Stuff too (the corset, buttoned dress, uniform shirt, & the janeoveralls)?  I did have those 4 outfits with the rest of the H&M clothes (I don't remember who did that), but, I can't find where I got it at and I swore I got it from here.

I attached H&M outfits to the main post.
The 3 lost outfits were originally done by Argon. I only tweaked sortidx number a bit to my liking.
567  Darcyland / Lord Darcy Investigates / Re: Decustomized and Updated Maxis Official Objects/Clothing (Updated 2008-04-11 on: 2008 April 21, 15:06:43
2008-04-21: Added 2 Seasons preorders except for SwingSet and Trellis.
Adjusted placement settings for TSS Giraffe sculpture and FT RubberDucky, so that they can be placed on decorative slots like mantel and low dressers.

Swingset is a very complicated object, with 4 different meshes (standalone, left, center, right) and neighbourhood view meshes/textures. So I was unable to update it. I also removed Trellis which produced incomplete recolor packages without neighborhood view version. Get the original version from the link in the main post.

Can anyone verify that the Teen Style Objects link is working correctly?  I've tried more than once from Mediafire and the download always stops at 99.9 percent.

MediaFire link works fine for me. I added MegaUpload link as an alternative.
568  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Children's workout cloths on: 2008 April 21, 06:10:44
You can create Sims2Pack files with SimPE.
Not sure if Sims2Pack files for TSR objects were built out of already infected package files or not.

Regardless of which EP you patched, the game resets and reactivates game tips for the latest EP you have.
570  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: KBS Ate My Game on: 2008 April 20, 02:39:41
Anyway, everything's surprisingly fine *knock on wood* but why on earth would it want to patch Seasons, three EPs later?

For the same reason KBID fridges do not have features from three EPs before.

SPs check only older EPs for patch, because SPs were always based on the engine several EPs before. Thus no BV functions for Teen computer and stereo even TSS was released after BV, no Chew/Scratch for Celebration dining chair even Celebration SP was released after Pets, and so on. It's just glaringly obvious this time, as the PHAIL was found in the centrepiece of the entire SP.
571  Darcyland / Lord Darcy Investigates / Re: Kitchen & Bath Stuff Objects Fix - Missing Seasons/FT Functions Enabled on: 2008 April 19, 21:11:45
I discovered this when all my clothing unlockers for base game clothing stopped working after installing KBID.

Wait, it busts ALL base-game clothing unlockers?  Oh gawd.  What has to be done to the files to repair this?

Moving existing unlockers to the new location will do. No need to alter the unlocker file itself.

C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Kitchen & Bath Interior Design Stuff\TSData\Res\Catalog\Skins

I moved all my unlockers to the above location. Unlockers for other EPs/SPs still work in the new location.
I made a subfolder for the unlockers, and made sure they load after Skins.package by naming subfolder as "Unlockers".
572  Darcyland / Lord Darcy Investigates / Re: Missing Default Wedding Dress Restored for Kitchen & Bath Stuff Pack on: 2008 April 19, 20:33:52
Does this mean that, like with the FT patch, those of us that have created custom clothes on the sewing machine need to find a work-around to get it to install?  Or will this stuff pack not insist that FT needs to be reinstalled?

I've never made custom clothes on the sewing machine, so I may be wrong, but I don't think this SP checks if FT is properly installed/patched or not. My guess is that it checks only for older EP (probably Pets) at the end of the installation.
573  Darcyland / Lord Darcy Investigates / Re: Missing Default Wedding Dress Restored for Kitchen & Bath Stuff Pack on: 2008 April 19, 10:42:00
Does kitchen crap run from its own executable, or from the FT executable?

FT executable, but Skin.package file seems to override FT version.
574  Darcyland / Lord Darcy Investigates / Missing Default Wedding Dress Restored for Kitchen & Bath (Updated 2008/09/01) on: 2008 April 19, 08:23:35

Yet another PHAIL by EAxis. KBID updated Property Sets of all base game clothing to Pets. Base game adult clothes previously unavailable for YAs are now enabled for YAs as well.
However, EAxis made the same kind of mistake as omitting Seasons/FT functions for appliances. The default wedding dress was made buyable in OFB, but they never care about updated features from later EPs, of course.
EAxis should have updated newer Property Set for wedding dress included in OFB. Instead, they updated outdated Property Set included in base game, thus hiding it again from CAS just like in pre-OFB days.

This unlocker restores the missing default wedding dress which was eated by K&B stuff pack. The dress will show up in CAS without debug mode on, and Sims can buy it from shops again.
YAs can wear the default wedding dress as well, and the redundant clone included in Seasons is hidden from CAS and buy mode.

WTF is going on there, repeatedly reverting back to outdated versions of game files? Angry EAxis is doing the same thing with every new EP. Bugs once fixed by patch for previous EP are resurrected in the new EP, because those idiots in EAxis do not possess a single ounce of common sense not to build new features upon outdated, discarded version.

Depending on the combination of EPs/SPs you have, you may still be able to buy default wedding dress even after you install K&B. There are two identical versions for this dress, so the other one may still be activated. But if you have all EPs/SPs up to K&B or IKEA, you won't be able to buy this dress anymore without fix. Only get this fix if you can't find this dress in CAS without turning debug mode on.

Installation:

You can put this fix in your Downloads folder as usual, but please be aware that the delete button
for the wedding dress may be enabled in BodyShop and CAS. You might accidentally delete it.

If you want to disable the delete button completely, put the fix in here:

 C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 <YOUR LATEST EP>\TSData\Res\Catalog\Skins
(or the corresponding folder on your system if your game isn't installed in C:\Program Files)

E.g. if your latest EP is Apartment Life, the location will be like this:
 C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Apartment Life\TSData\Res\Catalog\Skins

If this fix does not work in the above location, try here:

 C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Kitchen & Bath Interior Design Stuff\TSData\Res\Catalog\Skins

Files are loaded in alphabetical order, the last loaded overriding the ones loaded earlier.

If you want to keep the fix in \Skins folder, DO NOT remove z- prefix from the file name. It's there to ensure that the fix is loaded after Skins.package, overriding original Property Set.
If you want to make a subfolder for your fixes/hiders/unlockers under \Skins folder, name the subfolder as something like z_Fixes, so that files in the subfolder load after Skins.package.

Changelog:

 v1.0: Initial release.
v1.01: Hides the redundant clone of the default wedding dress included in Seasons. (2008/09/01)
575  Darcyland / Lord Darcy Investigates / Re: Kitchen & Bath Stuff Objects Fix - Missing Seasons/FT Functions Enabled on: 2008 April 19, 07:16:28
That's the old default wedding dress from before whichever EP allowed normal custom formalwear to be used for weddings (OFB?), and shouldn't be showing up in your wardrobe anyway, as far as I know. Did you have a hack to enable it in the first place?

No, but it became buyable as from OFB (I think?) once the formalwear was enabled to be used for weddings. I don't think it shows up in Bodyshop-I'll just check.

[edit] Nope, it's gone. Roll Eyes

This is yet another typical PHAIL by EAxis. As KBID stuff is based on Pets engine, Property Sets of all base game clothing are now updated to Pets as well. (Bodyshop version 4) Instead of updating newer Property Set of wedding dress included in OFB, they updated unused version included in the base game. The hide flag in the base game version is now back to the wedding dress, so it's hidden in CAS and Bodyshop just like back in pre-OFB days. I discovered this when all my clothing unlockers for base game clothing stopped working after installing KBID.

Made a quick fix. Will post it soon. Fix is now here.
