276  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: No Age Descrimination Hack on: 2006 July 02, 04:39:22
Yes my hacks are all in their own folder.  Thanks for the suggestion. I'll go thru my hacks and see what happens.

OK, my favorite tool for checking is Dizzy's d2check. I am linking you to a modified version of it (by shy) in the same thread because it checks for hacks that have spaces in the names. Put it in your hacks folder, double click on d2check.exe, and it will open a DOS window listing all conflicts. It will list what hacks conflict with each other and where they conflict. There are some conflicts that are acceptable (such as Crammyboy's nudist hack and Pescado's noshockforoutgoing) Also, if a hack has recolors it will show that as a conflict, even though it isn't, because of the duplicate GUID. If you are unsure and want to make it a text file to show some one you have to go to the File menu, edit..select all. Then edit...copy, then paste into notepad. There is supposed to be a way to make it output a txt file, but I have not been successful at it.

d2check

Ancient, I just got to level 4 Medical. Maybe it is an OFB thing or a conflict? I know thet the kitten killer with the noadultjobs flavor pack causes problems. I have no idea if you have that though.

I will go back to the field he was in and see if I can get him to level 4. I saved right before changing jobs so that should not be a problem. I have just Uni and NL, but it is the same file as far as noagediscrimination goes. Maybe OFB FUBARed it.

You must have some sort of conflict or something. I just checked it, and the elder was able to get a job starting as a security guard. He also made it to Medical job level 3 before applying for that. Do you keep your hacks in their own folder?

Is there a mod out there that will prevent gift giving, so these glitches will just go away?

Have you tried with non-premade Maxis families to see if it happens? Premades are notoriously buggy, and cause glitches for no apparent reason.

Hmm...you actually clone TWICE in BodyShop?

Yes, for some reason the first clone seems to hold on to werid data. Don't understand it, but it seems to be the case.

hey thanks nec.  I think you deserve at least a quarter for that one.  :0)

No problem. Thanks...I needed one more quarter for the washer  Cheesy

Have you ever noticed that when sim A has a dream date with sim B, and sim B sneaks up later with a stereo, sculpture, what have you - that unless you play sim B's lot (assuming sim B is a playable) the next time they show up to another sim's house for a visit, welcome wagon, etc., that they are still stuck in the sneaky walk?

I imagine this has to do with their 'last saved' state - much like the vampire 'daytime flee' issue. I find this extremely annoying, personally. I can't be the only one who finds this annoying.<-- added to clarify

284  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I broke it - need to import unpacked sims into clean game on: 2006 June 30, 20:05:05
If you open the neighborhood file in SimPE, go to Sim Surgery, select the sim you want and then "use", then select extract. Put the extracted file (it will be their character file number) into your SavedSims folder, open body shop. Clone the sim, save. Now clone the clone (important!), and save. delete the first clone and the other one should disappear as well. You will be left with a functional clone you can package and install, or just leave it so you can select it in CAS. I would only do one or two at a time to avoid confusion, and make sure the character file and the first clone files are deleted. Might take a while, and you will have to redo their aspirations, personalities, etc., but you will be able to get them all back.

Bah, what a disappointment this was... I tried it out in my game last night, it's kinda lame.  the male interation (for mine anyways) only lasts a few seconds and it's not even funny.  The girls is slightly more amuzing, but really not even worth having... so much work into it too, what a shame Sad

It stops shortly after the fun level is maxed.

I think it is hilarious.  Cheesy
286  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Brace yourselves! on: 2006 June 28, 20:43:19
It works really well, too. I laughed my ass off. Got it a few hours ago. Whee!!
287  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Servo and the broken shower on: 2006 June 26, 04:53:24
servos get damaged when repairing showers or entering the pool or hot tub. They can repair tubs without issue. When a servo breaks like that they have to be repaired by a playable sim or another servo.
288  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Um, Greek houses and Pledges... I must be missing something! on: 2006 June 24, 06:11:04
Just call them up and invite them over. Keep them there as long as you can and you should get a message eventually that they have spent enough time to join. If not, the person who has the highest relationship points can "propose...move in" and they will after they have spent enough time there. Just make sure they are good friends!
289  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Houses flash blue and red...on neighborhood view only on: 2006 June 24, 06:04:53
the 84.21 drivers are fantastic, but the game doesn't pick up on the upgrade for some reason, so they only work well after reinstalling the game. I got that flashing after installing the new drivers, and also in hoods with a ton of decorations/houses. I backed up all my hoods and reinstalled the game, they work beautifully now. Also, I deleted a bunch of the decorations in the one heavily decorated hood I had.
290  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Problems Downloading Lots on: 2006 June 23, 06:25:21
Bluewater Village is the only business district that adds more character files. An empty business hood will not add any at all.
291  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Problems Downloading Lots on: 2006 June 22, 21:15:50
If you downloaded mine OFB is required and it will show up in the bin, and you can place it, but it will crash upon lot load. I found that out the hard way since i only have NL now. I don't think there is any OFB content in it, though. I will be installing OFB again soon. Maybe I will make a NL version.

I just remembered - it has an OFB dresser and coffee table
292  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: A few how-to questions about Uni on: 2006 June 20, 08:07:01
As long as there is more than one university, you can delete one. As far as cloning sims - if you do it through SimPE you have to make sure to make a clone of the clone in bodyshop, of else it will cause problems. After you have cloned, it is safe to delete the one you exported in SimPE.
293  TS2: Burnination / Building Contest of Awesomeness / House Of Nec on: 2006 June 19, 02:43:58
Sturdy, semi-commercial style home, able to comfortably house more than 8 sims, should your game allow it. Ample space to fill with various rewards and musical instruments of your liking, as well as plenty of room to grow. Vampire-friendly, awesomely (and pretty much completely) furnished, efficient, and not an eyesore. House color can obviously be changed -I like greys, personally. Gnomatorium on the second floor can be fenced in allowing visitors to only access the deck space that will accomodate a jacuzzi, and the sliding door locked to restrict visitor access to gnomes, or you can restrict the upstairs completely to all but household members. The nursery is located conveniently close to the kitchen, and features individual crib rooms so your screaming tiny-sims don't wake each other up. Plenty of room in the dining area for high chairs, should you want them. Access to the garage is restricted from the stair area, should you choose to secure the top floor, but accessible by visiting sims to play pool, and party in if you choose to add a bar or fruit punch barrel. Access to the back yard is currently blocked by trees, and fencing arrangements left up to how each person sees fit. Landscaping is minimal, and there are no decorations as both vary with each person as far as taste goes.

Please note: The chessboard is now a good one located in the large room on the top floor, and all bathrooms, the downstairs hallway, and crib rooms now have wall-mounted lights.

3x3 lot, $87,338, dishwasher and vehicle not included.

I do not think Rainbow will take over.
296  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Tutorial: Deleting, Creating, and Generating Townies OFB and pre-OFB on: 2006 June 12, 22:23:14
Yes, I think it can be using the notownieregen mentioned, and then you just have to delete the first one made when you load your first lot.

That is one article I found on it.

Also you could try uninstalling your card and drivers then reinstall. Apparently this happens with some ATI cards, from my search results.
298  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Invisible Fish Poll on: 2006 June 10, 18:34:02
Well, apparently I have driver version 6.14.10.6476 (which dates back to late 2004 according to the control panel). What I'm wondering is whether I have any real reason to upgrade at all, why I would or would not want to have this Catalyst software in addition to ordinary drivers, and what driver version I ought to be using if it's not the one I've got.

ATI calls their basic drivers Catalyst. Here is a link to the main drivers page to select your OS if you want it.

I personally noticed a difference switching from 128 to 256, but my computer is not as fast as yours so I can't say much beyond the fact that I can run all graphics on high, even with my pokey processor.

Assuming you have OFB. Hack is here http://www.moreawesomethanyou.net/ffs/ofb/hacks/
they are alphabetical. I have not used notownieregen, so I cannot say anything except wait until you are done. If someone else knows the answer to this, please speak up. Smiley

Heh...you are right. I read that all wrong

I still wonder if that has anything to do with it anyway
