That's what I thought. So, ideally, to change a servo's appearance we would use a dresser and select from servo colors. That's one of those "Why didn't they think of that?" situations. I'm sure someone will. Hell, you can do a Tune Up why can't you do a paint job?

However, this past weekend I started a Legacy family (for those who don't know what that is, what have you been living under a rock or something? www.legacychallenge.com ). Actually, I started two, but the first one I got bored with almost immediately. lol *kicks the Cheese Wench*

Can't say that hasn't happened to me. Typically, I save after a) Important events and b) Whenever I walk away. I've never had issues with the Headmaster, in fact, I managed to get 30 food points for a burnt grilled cheese sandwich once.

Wait... rumbling sound? Erk... that could have been a hard drive crash. Nevertheless, it was certainly a hardware failure, and NOT caused by the game. Software can't magically tell things to overheat or platters to crash into each other or whatever.
Software can incorrectly identify hardware and utilize it badly, such as using features on video cards that push the hardware beyond its limits. It's rare, but fully possible. *kicks DMDye*

Believe me I understand your pain, file management in this game is an absolute nightmare and there simply is no one single good tool for doing it. I'm suprised someone hasn't tried to come up with one yet and sell it. Given how willing this community is to shell out their money I be they'd make a bundle. Hell, I think even I would pay for a program that made sorting, deleting, organizing and viewing downloads simple and efficient.
Word. Datgen's File Maid was looking like a promising alternative until development of Datgen was halted.

None of the programs available for the task are very efficient. Just find the one you're happy with and stick with it. Spending some time sorting does help quite a bit. When content is safe within separate directories, it's much faster to get rid of crap files since they'll only land in the root folder (aka Downloads). The only problem I have with using sub folders is checking for duplicates, you still need to parse the entire directory recursively to check for dupes. Fortunately, that small hassle stopped me from going on download binges and filling the game with useless crap.

Open For Business killed my computer as well.
OK, it was merely a coincidence that my video card and motherboard went *poof* shortly after. Or was it? Call me a noob and I'll kick you.

I'm fairly certain that it just functions as a normal community lot when you're the customer. No bells, no whistles, however those jobs need to be assigned otherwise it's just a nonsense lot where the owner tries to commit suicide by breaking the elevator.

I don't have that shop or hood but I know that you need to assign employees to those tasks if you want to visit the lot as a customer. A single manager won't run the place by his/her self.

Once there's one, there has to be one if you go through the main interface. Demmit.
Ah well then, it seems as though it's too late for you m'am. That is, unless you haven't played too much and have a backup.

Can't you just go to your main neighborhood screen, select business districts -> Bluewater and delete it (without loading it up)?
Or is it that once there is a business district linked, there must always be at least one?
Hmm...

The game could be detecting your card incorrectly, or you have a very old video card. Run the "Easy Info" application and see if it lists your video card correctly (it's located in the EA Games->Sims 2 start menu group).

Could the pig show up after having a business reach level 10? Or only on certian days of the week (real time days)? I know on April 1, in Black and White (the first one), your pet's footprints were happy faces, so it could be a time of day or week. Or when Bella is pregnant with twins.
I didn't have any businesses at the time and it floated over the neighborhood. Maybe it only shows up when there are no home or community businesses to spread the capitalist (pig) urge over your neighborhood. Try it in an empty neighborhood.
