re the stairs - - you lose the queue of actions as well.  If you tell simA to teach SimB something with a career object on a different floor, it will always fail, because the second sim can't get up or down the stairs.  aarrgh...

This whole stairs issue is irritating, always has been. When will they learn to share the stairs so that we don't need to put two sets of stairs in their homes and hope that they can use them?  Cheesy

I think a want should be added for toddlerss: "Learn how to walk on stairs"
That way, they'll be trained before they become adults in the fine art of stair walking and we won't have to listen to them complain all the time.
Or maybe, if simB can't get up the stairs because simA is on them, he should sit in the corner with a dunce cap on for 1 sim hour? Tongue

Had a somewhat amusing incident tonight.  One of my male Romance Sims fresh from Uni paid full-price for a date and got Ericka Japaylan (or whatever her name is), the gardener.

S'ok. Those gardeners have no class anyway; they eat lobster with their gardening gloves on.  Cheesy

I had the same problem radiophonic describes above.  I didn't end a group on a downtown lot and the two groupies want back to the dorm with my Sim.  I got the message and two dorm rooms became vacant.  Then the groupies left and the original dorm members came back and reclaimed their rooms.

Not that we actually CARE if townies are in the dorms  Cheesy

Also had a student have a want to buy a car.  There's no way to build a driveway without using the dormspecifictoolsenabled cheat, so there's no way to buy a car for a student.  You shouldn't have to use cheats to be able to fulfill wants.  Suggestion:  make the driveway tools usable normally in dorms.

Technically, they can want a car since they are able to live in homes as well as dorms on your campus, and you can build all you want on those.

I play a romance sim he went on a date after he came back he rolled a want to get engaged to her (his date). I think maybe they might of change the engagement and marriage wants and memory somewhat for the romance Sims.
Has any one else notice this?

I had a romance sim want to get engaged to another and at the same time, their fear was to get engaged to said sim. Tongue

Here's a little bug for any Maxoids lurking...

Easy to reproduce: From a sim's University dorm, ask another sim out on a date (a sim who does not live in the same dorm). Go downtown, have your date etc. and ask them to come home with you. When you arrive back to your dorm, University will display the 'There aren't enough rooms...' message and kick a townie out to make space for your date. Tongue

Those bloody cows did that even before the expansion. As for the proper procedure upon encountering one, utter destruction is the only way.  Wink

Don't you mean udder destruction?  Cheesy

C'mon people, it's a game. You see them, you ask them to leave.
457  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: "Watch Out!" Stupid Driveway... on: 2005 September 21, 03:57:18
Bah. If it were up to me, there'd be the uncancellable interaction called "Road Waffle!", and a new ghost look to go with it.

Stop it, you're making me hungry.
458  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: So what's been fixed in NL on: 2005 September 21, 03:55:52
If I go on a date with my husband, we talk about it when we come home. If I had a good time, I say so. We also (gasp) still give each other nice gifts, like flowers. He's even surprised me with flowers when there was no date or special occasion. Granted I see how a sim might place the flowers on a table inside if they life there, but I get my flowers by delivery guy, just like my man man didn't live here and just like I would have if we were dating.

Let me clarify: I meant that the interaction seemed awkward due to it having the same events occur when a sim takes a stranger out on a date. Tongue

*hands you some flowers*

I've tried to go through this entire thread, so pardon me please if this repeats something someone else has already said.
The following are Maxis design issues, not bugs per se:

Or how about being able to ask your wife out on a date. lol, OK, it's not so funny but the interactions at the end of the date are a bit odd as your wife will treat you like your were someone else, compliment you on the date and then go out the back door to place flowers on her own doorstep. Tongue

The biggest aesthetic annoyance for me is that I cannot park in the street. I have to delete a large chunk of my home (only on the left side) to place a driveway. I can understand how this might affect the school bus or the car pool, but it makes me a little batty. Wink

Speaking of cars, it's comical when you have two in the driveway, send one to work in his/her car then park the other in the driveway (thus blocking the garage). When the sim comes home from work, they will magically appear in the garage instead of sitting in the street honking and screaming obscenities at the sim who is parked in the driveway.

Another thing that irks me is the fact that sims need to drive to get next door or across the street. Wouldn't it make more sense to "Walk Next Door" and while you're at the lot, "Walk back home"? I mean, sims walk by my home all day long.

As far as I'm concerned, you take your chances with her.

This is, after all, a dating service (so to speak). Pleasure and romance sims can utilize her services in a very usefull way when they have the the '100 Dates' or 20 woohoo's LTW.

Has anyone tried to befriend her and see what the results are? It seems my family sims have the best luck with her.
461  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: A few nice features.... on: 2005 September 19, 13:15:28
I'm a fan of "Lower Hands" myself.   Grin

I prefer the 'fall asleep in your food' manoeuver.  Tongue

Corrupted lot & cellphone - does this always happen? we haven't been able to reproduce this, so perhaps there are better reproduction steps?  it may be related to the greek amnesia problem though, which has been fixed

I can't be sure but it happened to me twice. It seems to be from other sims who are dead trying to call.

I had one sim who knew just about everyone in the city. Many of his friends died and I noticed that after time, he was unable to use the phone (or do anything else for that matter). Autonomous actions were fine, but user commands would disappear and he would 'jump' from place to place. I figured it was the lot and moved him into a new house but he was still 'broken'. I removed all of the phones and no luck. I had to kill him  Wink

Am I rambling? Yeah. I have a backup of the neighbourhood with the broken Sim in it but I doubt you want that. Tongue
463  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: A huge problem on: 2005 September 18, 12:49:11
Do you have any doors on diagonal walls? I bet you do. I bet sometimes you can only get options to serve "instant meal" and nothing else on the fridge. Only when you get in the kitchen, you get more options.
That actually seems to be fixed in Night Life.

Is that what caused that? That drove me nuts trying to figure out what the problem was.  Undecided
464  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: A few nice features.... on: 2005 September 17, 16:40:55
4) This may be my imagination, but I think the colors seem brighter than before.  Anybody else notice this?  (I have a Radeon 9600XT video card.)

Oh, and here I thought I was going senile. There seems to be more detail and somewhat better color handling. Maybe you're not imagining things Tongue
465  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: A huge problem on: 2005 September 17, 16:37:12
After he moves in, I call his boyfriend and invite him over. Right after he greets him, his friend goes "Look at the time, I better be going" And it's like 11:00 AM. ANd the gardner decides she's done for the day at noon! I made sure all my hacks are gone, yet this problem still continues.

I only seem to have this problem when teens come over. Inviting them over earlier in the day is fine, but it seems any time after about 8 or 9PM is a no-no.
466  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: So what's been fixed in NL on: 2005 September 17, 16:34:03
yeah i had a teenager die from running with scissors... i swear i didn't know that.. that was very sad..
Anyway, the father wanted to ressurect her the stepmother wanted to create a zombie, but the wants of sending her to college vanished

lmao! That happened to me as well. Of course, we shouldn't be surprised should we? I mean, they were RUNNING with SCISSORS!  Tongue

I'm off-topic *hides inside a stuck kicky bag*
467  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: So what is an overpopulated neighborhood anyway? on: 2005 September 14, 12:55:01
Interesting thread. I can't say that I've had any of the problems collected here and my neighborhood has hit 1,030 packages (more dead than alive). I can only assume that Pescado's fixes are just that: fixes.  Smiley
468  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Pool Hack - Anti-Pool Obsession And More! on: 2005 September 09, 17:43:28
That's done already. Get "No Buskers" from the main hack directory.

Lovely Cheesy - Once again my sanity is saved from the silly decisions made by Maxis developers.
Thank you.
469  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Pool Hack - Anti-Pool Obsession And More! on: 2005 July 25, 15:10:26
Perfect! There are so many silly obsessions in this game and that one was quite annoying.

Now if only we can take care of sims obsession with musical instruments and wanting to get tips from family members. It's as if all sims aspire to be the Partridge Family Tongue
