TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Restaurants selling only one type of food?

The slim chance of fire and the loss of a small amount of aspiration points is a silly reason to make your sims vegans. Sims want MEAT! From the hidden Sim farm where synthetic cattle and turkeys are bread and slaughtered. Has anyone been to the Sim Abattoir yet? lol

The annoying this about that collection though is that the pizza boxes cost 0 simoleans, so you don't really make money, it's just for atmosphere. I'm sure you can set a custom price from within the game somehow. Most items, when you click on them, have a "Set Price" menu that allows you to either set a custom price or use the predefined price ranges. And yes, I normally go to the local Pizza Hut for cereal.

What I am wondering though and what the guide doesn't go into is, how does this effect the customers and loyalty? I read somewhere something about them having a favorite food or a food they want. I know they sometimes come in with a picture of a particular food in their thought bubble and dates do this too, but if they don't get that food will their loyalty go down?
Look at the post above yours. lol

Without an elevator, the vampire flys up the stairs instead. That's one of the annoying things about them, that the vampire can't fly up to the roof or through a hole in the floor to the basement. Practice meditating and you can teleport anywhere you like. The "guts" of the elevator show through the walls in neighborhood view (if there's an elevator next to an exterior wall, the same way the most expensive staircase kinda shows through the wall). Yeah, ugly huh? Like the sunken land around homes with "basements".

If you watch the robots, you'll see that they even have an aspiration which is typically family. I don't think it's a bad thing to do (teleport them/it) but I certainly wouldn't move it in. Besides, if you teleport it there is likely to be nothing there.

On the same general subject, has anyone found the plummetation odds, and the amount of need damage it does? Are the odds more like abduction, or more like (oh, say) a Cooking 9 Sim burning the furshluginer spaghetti (again)?
The expensive elevators have less of a chance of falling from what I can tell. The cheap elevators fall often. The odds are much greater than being abducted. The damage to needs is roughly equal to getting electrocuted.

Oooh, goody. If it can still kill sims I think I've finally found something to add some drama to my damned game. Oh, you knowledge sims who think you want to be saved from death... hehhehheh.
Well I should have known not to run with scissors. I can't say for sure what the conditions are that one may die using the object, I presume it might be green aspiration. I don't know since I wasn't paying attention to what the sim's needs, etc. were when she died. It could just be random. EDIT: I opened it up in SimPE and yes, it is random.

Since you're not able to set a per-room option, place the ticket machine at the front door and manually set it to an outrageously cheap price so that they'll be more apt to buy tickets faster. The rest of your lots services will them be "value-added" services.

Actually, they do take a portion home. I don't know the exact figures (I read a thread about it once, somewhere), but once the bank balance exceeds a certain amount, when one moves out they take a percentage with them. With my Uni SS members who've been experiencing this, when they graduate they end up in the family bin with between 1.4 and 1.6 million simoleons. (I reset it to 20000 with the familyFunds "cheat").
Millions? Sounds like someone else has been exploiting this bug more than I. As far as I can tell, it's around 1% but of course, I could be wrong. One of my kids wound up with 21,050 in the bin and the house had about 100K.

A little something funny I noticed: If you have a two garbage cans on the lot and the manager decides to "tidy up" he/she will walk back and forth to the cans in an endless loop of transporting garbage back and forth. Weird.
I don't see the problem with allowing them to re-assign tasks. After all, your employees and your business need the benefits of whatever badges they earn while doing the new task. Customer loyalty is very easy to regain.

Aging off. It's only natural. This is, after all, a life simulation and besides, who wants to play the same sim at the same age forever and ever. It just gets boring. If you want them to live a little longer, use the elixer, that's what its there for.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: OFB *home* business ideas for the creatively challenged?

Oooh, I like the nursery idea. If you can't sell real trees you could sell potted plants, and maybe stuff like Windkeeper's plastic bushes. I have to admit when I first saw "nursery" I thought you were talking about a day care, and I thought "What???" Cool about the clothing store, gotta try that one. Oh a few more ideas...if you have the holiday pack you could sell Christmas items. Used car lot La-z-boy store with recliners. Music shop selling instruments. Or a yard sale selling all the raggedy stuff from Uni, Heh heh. I also have a Vampire who sells tombstones and urns at a makeshift cemetery. One could do that with a zombie sim and I suppose it would be more fitting. Then all you would need are some brains to put on display.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: OFB Killed my computer!!!!
|

This isn't a pissing contest. Most Vic 20's outlive modern systems but that's beside the point.
Chances are there was some faulty hardware and OFB happened to push said hardware over the edge (three years is old for a gaming PC). In essence, OFB caused the failure by working as it was supposed to. If the game was never played, something else would have caused the failure. This is called computer use and it will eventually cause the computer to fail, just as using your car will cause wear and tear.
