226  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: 90% of Sunset Valley lots gone after returning from vacation. on: 2009 December 04, 06:37:58
Just to confirm, I also suffer from the blue lot insanity.

1.) I don't have WA yet, it started happening right after I patched to 1.7.
2.) It happened both with an old save and a new game
3.) I only have CC dating from before the patch and WA release.
4.) Interesting titbit but possibly a red herring, since I could be very wrong: I seem to remember that at first it was only the Museum of Art that was affected. I zoomed in, went huh?, and after I saved my game most of the lots in my hood were affected. Now I could be remembering it wrong (although I don't think so), but could this maybe have something to do with the "riddler fix" that the patch was supposed to do? When I get back home I'll test that and report back.

EDITED TO ADD:
I also have a problem where every single thing that used to be in my sims' inventories, bookcases and fridges just AWOL-ed the first time I started up after patching (so yes, old game). Dunno if it's connected to this or just to my own stupidity, but investigations are continuing.

O hai pot, meet kettle! Kettle may be stupid, but POT is so damn slow, he thinks that Huricane Katrina is on its way in.
228  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Crash to desktop on: 2009 December 03, 08:25:17
One clue though. It did it at night (ingame) and it might have been around th 1am point. This would have been the first night time period in the game since activating AM. Might have something to do with the 1am lag issue. Anyone else notice crashing around that time ingame?

Are you serious?

Try searching 1am crash.  There are dozens, maybe even a hundred+ of posts now, about that very thing.  It is something with the EAxian story mod and a possible conflict with AM tweaks, or other conflict.  Switch to AM story mode, and the problem goes away.

I'm all for blaming EA for bugs since it's usually their fault, but not this time. I've been playing with the WA expansion since it came out. There were and have been a ton of bugs so far, but no cases of CTD on my PC. And it's not a lack of resources. I have a ton of RAM, a great processor, a top of the line video card, and a liquid coolant system.
I installed AM and the game CTD'd the first time my sims went to bed after I loaded that game.

Did this occur round-about 1am (sims time)? Because if it did, I'm gonna be over here, laughing my ass off. (Edited to add quote)
229  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Wth happened to my game on: 2009 December 02, 08:03:07
I have 1.7 with AM and just deleted indiestone. I have no camera mods. I have some game mods like 'no party max guest list', do i have to get rid of them?

What is WA? And how do i fix up the framework?

Ok I kind of figured that my saves were screwed but how do i fix up all the lighting and interaction bugs?

What AddOn?

And yes, you wouldnt believe how much i searched around. The technical talk is abit hard to understand.

You are too stupid to use mods in your game. So sorry to have to be the one to inform you of this.

I just bought WA...
Not to be the idiot that asked the same question that has already been asked a million times already or anything like that

Sorry, too late. Holy mother of fuck, can you not SEARCH? Can you not READ? Are you too retarded to even read this very thread you're posting in, the VERY POST you downloaded the newest version of AM from, or the rest of this sub-forum you're posting in, or even the rest of the fucking forum? This has been addressed AD NAUSEUM! FYCL!
231  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: TSR HAS DOXED YOU! on: 2009 December 02, 06:11:52
TSR has released a news item on this issue...

If you have any concerns we would urge you to read our Privacy Policy which we believe demonstrates that we take our members' privacy very seriously.

That gave me a nice case of the roffles: "You can totally trust us because we say you can. No, srsly!"

This is especially lulzy if one actually READS their "privacy" policy (or the Cocunut post about it).

TSR has released a news item on this issue, and plan to command their battlefield of lolyers to investigate this "libel":

Quote
False accusations against TSR

Some of you may have seen yet more false accusations made against TSR on another so called community site claiming that our member database containing personal names and addresses has been leaked. We would like to assure all member of TSR that this list of usernames has not come from TSR. Many of the usernames published do not even exist in our database, and never have. For the usernames that do exist, in some cases we have more info than they claim, and in others, less.

This list is clearly not a list of TSR users. This latest folly only demonstrates further that the information posted on that site about TSR is false, dreamt up in an underhanded attempt to try and discredit our community. Because we are absolutely confident that we can prove this to be farce we have instructed a law firm to press for full legal recompense for libel.

If you have any concerns we would urge you to read our Privacy Policy which we believe demonstrates that we take our members' privacy very seriously.

Update: Some comments posted by users on that site who are listed, state that they never gave TSR that info, or that the username is actually used on another Sims site and not on TSR.

I have nowhere seen that anyone said that this list was leaked from the TSR database? Coconut's words on this, and I quote:

First:
Quote
Atwa ( now known as CarpeDiem ) and Tom have committed yet another hideous deliberate  information leak. This leak involves a file containing the full names and Emails of 614 people, branded as ‘pirates'
THEN
Quote
Atwa  ( now known as CarpeDiem ) has deliberately leaked a document containing the full names and Emails of 614 innocent people... She says the information belongs to known ‘pirates' and that ‘we' need this information in order to "protect ourselves" and "defend ourselves" ... She is adamant this document was supplied to her by TSR owner,  Thomas. The origins of it vary from "I don't know" to "I can't say" depending on who she is talking to.

Looks to me like they're trying to deflect attention away from the issue by saying "Well, it didn't come from our database, so of course we couldn't have done it, and now we'll sue the pants of you for saying that we leaked our database!" which was, in fact, never even said, while conveniently ignoring the actual accusation: TSR (or someone high up, working for them) hacked into an online petition, which is where the names come from, and then distributed those names with malicious intent!

Stupid TSR is stupid.

How the bloody hell can you not read my bloody punctuation?! You're so irritating! I'm feeling as though I need to smash my head into the desk and all you care about is punctuation?

Yes we do care about the punctuation, since your lack of it makes your previous posts illegible. If you can't even be bothered to punctuate your request, why the hell should we be bothered to try helping?
234  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: This computer "should" run the game fine. Right? on: 2009 November 30, 06:24:23
Does your computer run any system-intensive (or even moderately intensive) background applications while you play TS3? Something like an over-zealous antivirus could cause the random lags.

I was wondering if AM is going to have to be updated for the Ep that comes out tomorrow. That way I don't install it if it will be a problem.
And also wondering have there been more updates to AM since oct 20th?

Answers: It will most certainly have to be updated for WA, seeing as just the newest patch is already reported to be causing crashing issues with AM. Also, yes, there have been updates since 20 October. Just because they are not posted doesn't mean they don't exist. One should download and replace AM at least once a week. For more on this, see Mr. Search Button.
237  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Sims not eating or bathing on: 2009 November 12, 20:15:30
Are you using any other mods at all? If "yes", proceed to the next part. If "no", state this and stay on the line.

If you want to know whether it is, in fact, Awesomemod related or not, try removing ALL of your CC and ALL of your mods, and just installing Awesomemod. If the problem persist, return and state that. If the problem does not recur, it is not AM-related. Start weeding out potential mod-conflicts by adding one mod to AM at a time and testing to see if problem returns.
238  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2009 November 08, 14:23:32
It was.  But, the cheap showers have a random chance of giving a negative moodlet, whereas the expensive ones have a random chance of giving a positive moodlet.  I would have thought that an extra 5-10 minutes in the car would have been worth it for a +10 rather than a -10 mood.(I just pulled that number out of my ass, I have no idea what the boost is for those moodlets)

As far as I understand, Awesomemod optimizes sim/object interactions so that the sims go to the nearest object that will fulfill the need. Whether the nearest shower is the cheap one or the expensive one won't make any difference, the sim won't take that into account at all - and besides, the moodlet is so minor, I would think that the time saved by this fix more than makes up for it in the long run.
239  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Sims Not Aging on: 2009 November 03, 07:50:47
Double posting is BAAAAD! See that "modify" button? Learn it, use it, love it.

Regarding troubleshooting your problem: Do you have "UseIndieStoneDriver" enabled or disabled in the config? If you want to use the IndieStone story driver, you need to have that option enabled in the config, and Awesome Story Driver disabled. This is how it is by default, though, but I'd just check to make sure that story drive conflicts and stuff isn't your problem.

Also, did you make sure the problem is AwesomeMod related? If you take out ALL mods and CC, do your sims age normally? If you put back ONLY AwesomeMod, do you again encounter this problem?

You could also try to clear all caches, see if that doesn't help.
240  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: sim in mailbox on: 2009 October 29, 13:18:10
Help! I'm new to SIMS 3 and I really really want to play the game, however, as soon as I move in to a household, my sim gets stuck in the mailbox and when I buy something, the game crashes. I can't even open my OPTIONS menu Sad I'm on an iMac which meets all the requirements. It seems like it's a problem related to the latest 1.4 patch, or so I thought.

Does anyone have a working solution to this? Please point me to the right direction, anyone.. TIA!

Did you READ THE FAQ? Because it's hard to take you seriously when you're typing in verrah youneeque speshal colourz. It makes me want to start shouting.

Also, of the possible fixes mentioned in this thread, what have you tried? My telepathy device seems borked today.
241  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: OMG the lag is unbearable!! on: 2009 October 18, 20:56:06
Using 3booter and the fps plugin, I get a happy 30fps, everything is pretty, and my card never gets over 60'c unless it's a hot day. The only time I get abnormal spikes in heat is when using the launcher, as that shows 1500 - 3000+ fps.

I have an Nvidia Geforce 9400 GT 1Gb DDR2. It overheated, I think. It made a whirring motor noise that was incredibly annoying and when I took it out it was very warm so I put the old one back in. The company is replacing this one as it was only 3 months old. Could you explain what you mean by "using 3booter and the fps plugin" for a not so technical player? I'd like to prevent the problem from occuring again. Thanks.

Check out this thread, first and second posts contain the two downloads, instructions for use and useful informations.

By the way, I was also opposed to bringing back the changing table until Pes mentioned the babby roaster. That is a great big WANT! My "Cletus & Gang" sims really miss this convenient method for disposing of unwanted belly-fruit.
That's why they took away the changing table, you know. We'd make babby-roasters out of them.

I didn't realize that no changing table = no roasting babbies! Babby BBQ? DO WANT! Idiotic butthurt EAxis.

My simspawn's head is enlarged with the learnings of how to use the potty to such a degree that the custom hair on top of the head just vanishes.

Or did Mommy Dearest rub it off?
