With the latest patch that added the new careers they also added the lifestage to the nameplate of a Sim that appears when you hover over them in Live mode. So instead of

[Sim Name]

you now get

[Sim Name]
[Lifestage]

I have been trying to get The Boardwalk SET to work but there is no actual lot for it showing in my game. Is there supposed to be? I was under the impression there was a lot for it. I un/reinstalled it a few times and it still hasn't shown up in my game. There was a store patch before I installed The Boardwalk SET that updated whatever it updated. I am not having this issue with any other lots so it made me think that The Boardwalk SET doesn't have a lot.
Which download did you use? I know for a fact that the Baordwalk Venue download that I supplied has everything set up on an actual lot that you then manually place in your world.

Here is another link for the Boardwalk Venue. Sims3Pack untouched.

Any chance the plumbot heads can be removed from showing in regular CAS unless the UnlockOutfits code is used?

How long do the test mirrors usually take to update? I've just gone to download the newest version but it still has the same date and time stamp as the one I already have from yesterday: 27/10/13 01:49

Okay, so I've updated to the latest test AM and have successfully managed to travel to the future. (Yay!)
Two things I need to mention though.
When I ran fixall after just short of a full day in the future I got this FSE;

Also, Emit Rellevart or whatever the time traveller's name is, has gone missing! The statue of the Time Keeper in Legacy Park is blank apart from a floating Almanac of Time. There is also now a blank portrait panel in my Sim's relationship panel where he used to show up. Strangely I still have the option to text, call, and invite him over. I'm about to try that to see what happens as trying to use resetSim on him or whereIs has no effect. WhereIs reports there is no Sim of that name.
I honestly don't know if he vanished prior  to travelling or not as I never saw him re-enter the time portal before my Sim followed through.

I wondered if another command needed to be activated first but only thought of trying testingCheats.
I checked the Awesomemod Console & Debug wiki page but it doesn't mention anything about activating the debug commands.
8  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2013 August 29, 11:15:14
Yes but if you then later enter Edit Town mode to alter the lot in any way they then get returned to the Sim's inventory. The game pops up a message along the lines of "Your Sim left something behind. The missing objects have been returned to their inventory."
The only way I managed to decorate my public gallery with Sim-made paintings was to make it residential, have the Sim hang all of the paintings and then evict him before turning the lot back into a public gallery.

How is the "chown" command intended to be used? I can't even get the game to recognise it as an actual command in my game. With or without testingcheats enabled it always throws up that it is an unrecognised command.
I've always assumed it would be useful for stuff like allowing playable Sims to decorate community lots with personal paintings, sketches and photos by making the game believe they belong to the lot and not the Sim but I don't know seeing as how I've never got it to function.

From what I understand your Sim will only get a damaged board to display if you have them buy a custom board from buy mode to use INSTEAD of the default plain wooden one. That board can then be displayed and will show three large bite shaped chunks missing. There are pictures and info over at SimsVIP.

Admittedly I don't know the answers to those questions but I would assume a player created "townie" mermaid wouldn't work as they would be lot based and not ocean based like the ones created by the game are so you couldn't happen across one whilst exploring a dive spot.
I only got my game working again two days ago and haven't actually played in IP yet.
12  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomemod Request Thread on: 2013 July 02, 19:53:38
Seeing as how AM usually takes the approach of disallowing the game to spawn special life states unless initiated by the player, I would like to request that the game be allowed to spawn mermaids.
This isn't because I want to play as them but simply because from what I understand, they are required for the purpose of unlocking one of the "hidden" islands. If the game isn't allowed to spawn any then Sims won't be able to befriend them and therefore will not be able to unlock said island.

Someone suggested deleting the downloadedsims.index in the savedsims folder,  I did that, and the game loads up perfectly fine now and all my downloads are there!

I was having major issues with not being able to get my game to load with my mods folder in and it seemed no matter which files I had in, it would not start. I removed the downloadedsims.index file after reading here and my game loads fine now with all mod folders intact. I've not tried actually playing yet but it will always start up now at least.
Just posting for confirmation that this file does seem to affect the loading of the game.

Does this need a 1.55 update for IP?

I guess that's a no then. How lazy of EA not to even bother adding a new collection with the introduction of underwater photography.

The Launcher now creates .TMP files in the DCCache folder when it is used. Presumably this is to get it to show ALL content now as opposed to just the odd bits it usually feels like showing. Apparently they are what slows the Launcher and the game down. They can be deleted and no Store content should go missing but the Launcher will regenerate them the next time you open it anyway.
If you only use the Launcher to install content and instead bypass it to launch the actual game then you shouldn't have a problem really.

I actually have the same problem, and just kind of ignore it. I assumed I installed it somewhere more than once. I'm using the decrapped LP, too. Do you have KT's fixes or anything?

I do have KT's fixes, yes. The duplicate fences were present with and without them. At least it's not just me it's affecting then. I thought I was doing something wrong. I guess I will continue to just ignore the duplicate unless KT can do anything about it? I'm guessing not as he has the duplicates as well.
18  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: The TS3 Store: post your questions, updates, and tech help here on: 2013 June 06, 21:55:35
I'm expecting a sporking for this, or possibly just being ignored, but what would cause the concrete fence from Lucky Palms to show up in my catalogue twice?
It's a decrapped version of LP I have installed as well as the casino lot.
Both versions function as they should, they have a name and price in the catalogue. The only difference it that one is marked as store content and the other is marked as custom content.
To make sure it wasn't something in my mods I removed them all and ran the game again and I still get duplicate fences.
This was also happening with the Barnacle Bay barnacle fence but I've uninstalled BB and the fence now anyway as I have no plans on using them. The LP fence I would like to keep though.

I'm having no problems with the trait selection either.
20  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomemod Request Thread on: 2013 June 05, 16:32:40
I've another request.
I've tried doing this myself via a tuning (I think) mod but it didn't work. Would it be possible to enable the Haunt interaction on objects and Sims for playable ghosts? It's always struck me as odd that graveyard ghosts are freely allowed to autonomously Haunt things but playabel ghosts aren't. Surely that should be a unique selling point of playing a ghost, that they can Haunt. The option is there if I have debugInteractions turned on but it's buried a few clicks down the pie menu "more" option on Sims and I'd rather not need those cheats turned on JUST for the pleasure of letting my ghosts haunt objects and Sims which I feel they should be able to do anyway.

TL;DR Enable "Haunt" interaction for playable ghosts.

Is the "lifetimehappiness" cheat command still functioning? I've tried using it several times and all I get told is that the command is not recognised. This is with and without testingcheats enabled as well as with AMdebug both on and off. It is listed on the Awesomemod Console & Debug wikka page as a valid console command but I can't get it working.
22  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomemod Request Thread on: 2013 May 29, 19:15:47
Is there any chance you could do anything about how sh*t the game is at assigning Outerwear? I can sort of understand pre-existing Sims only having gloves applied to whatever their Everyday outfit is but it seems to be doing this for newly aging up Sims as well. Surely the game should be generating an entirely new outfit for the catagory?
It irks and befuddles me why the game is even allowed to use clothing that isn't even catagorised for Outerwear in the first place. I don't use any of the commands to unlock clothing for all catagories.
23  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomemod Request Thread on: 2013 May 22, 12:37:39
Apparently it seems that the wish to "Buy A Fire Cracker" that came with Seasons cannot be fulfilled. I thought it was perhaps something I was doing wrong but another player on MTS has also said they have never managed to get it to fulfill.
I've had my Sim buy individual and bundles of fireworks from the Grocery Store but the wish has never been fulfilled by them. Any chance you could take a look at it to see what is broken?
Or if it can't be fixed, then possibly remove it from valid wishes? There's no point of Sims rolling the wish if it can't be completed.
24  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Bug Report Thread on: 2013 May 05, 19:18:01
Running with Debug mode on, the game did indeed throw up a FSE when I attempted to get my Sim to relax in an igloo. This was with a freshly built igloo on a new lot but with the same Sim as when I initially reported the issue.
Here's a screenshot for you;
25  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Bug Report Thread on: 2013 April 26, 12:33:21
It would appear that AM is preventing Sims from relaxing in igloos.
I've finally played a save long enough for it to be Winter and now that there is snow on the ground I got my Sims to build an igloo. They can nap, sleep and woohoo without issues but trying to get them to relax results in a jump reset.
With AM removed the issue goes away and my Sims can relax fine. To make sure it wasn't a case of a conflict, I ran the save with JUST AM and the error came back.
I'm patched up to 1.50 with all packs, minus the Katy Perry crap, and my copy of AM was downloaded two days ago.
