326  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Lots of Random Fires: No Heat Needed! on: 2008 April 16, 16:52:12
What EPs and stuff packs do you have installed?
I was playing yesterday and for no apparent reason my Sim's sowing machine randomly burst into flames then put itself out. The machine was indoors and there was no thunder storm either.

Cheers for that sloppyhousewife.

While I'm here I will say that I have now used this method to successfully correct the My Muse II - Art Studio shower. I didn't have to alter the instance number with SimPE though. It was the same after the alteration as it was before. I don't know if it makes any difference but I had a buy, build mode enabler package in my downloads folder.

Don't bother getting Young Adults in a dorm to write a novel unless you really want to fulfil their want because it never gets delivered when they are finished!  Angry

Actually I had a YA write 2 novels while in college and they were both delivered on her front door normally.

Yes you can ignore that point I made. I played yesterday and found the book lying on the dorm doorstep. I never saw a van deliver it though one must have done.

Has anybody else noticed that the new cribs don't animate! I know people say the nannies can't interact other than taking kids out but the bars on the new cribs don't move which means my Sims are sticking their hands through the bars! Its really annoying.
329  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Free Will Borked? on: 2008 April 07, 16:07:48
This may be a blatantly obvious suggestion but have you tried turning free will off and on again?
330  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What are the differences between zombies and normal sims? on: 2008 April 03, 23:30:17
Going back to the bit about zombies, I heard (but have not tested) that influencing them does not use up influence points.

Gaagh! Too many pages to read through! I will add my two scents though. Don't bother getting Young Adults in a dorm to write a novel unless you really want to fulfil their want because it never gets delivered when they are finished!  Angry

I saw someone earlier on mention something about the birds in the FT video being staged. Well, I've never seen them in my game but while I was poking around in SimPE I did see some reference to them that did seem to make me think they should appear when Sims are bird watching.

I truely hope this gets worked out in the end. I don't hate the hobby lots really but I do hate the fact that EA screwed up the My Muse II Arts Studio lot so that the showers cannot be used and my Sim gets attacked by other Sims wanting to "Talk Through" the teddies.
333  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Upgraded Jewelry for the BV Machine on: 2008 January 30, 23:54:23
Wonderful! This is greatly appreciated by me. I'll let you know if I have any problems with them but thankfully I've not even had any problems with the MAXIS/EA stuff (yet).
334  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bon Voyage Woohoo Memories on: 2007 October 26, 21:26:31
Wow, this thread branched out quite a fair bit from my original post. Getting back to that; would it be possible for somebody to create a hack that allows Sims to gain woohoo memories from a hammock and tent? It puts me off wanting to use them while they can't.

I have not checked this and can not until later, but is it that they don't get any woohoo memory at all (i.e. any memory that might fulfill a part of a "woohoo 20 sims" LTW - would they get a "did woohoo with X" memory, for example?), or is it that they just don't get a "did woohoo in hammock" memory?

If the former, I can see a problem in that any woohoo in a hammock would need to be repeated then with the same sim woohoo partner for it to "count" for that LTW.  If however you just don't get the "woohoo in hammock" memory, it's less problematic, in my view.

The Sims gaind absolutely NO memories relating to woohoo when using a tent or hammock. It seems stupid for EAxis to have left them out when every other type generates a memory including the sauna (no matter how borked it is).

Dizzy, it doesn't really matter how willing I am to wait does it? Not being willing to wait wont make it happen any sooner. I'll be patient and just see what happens.

Well I've have Sims successfully gain public woohoo memories from using the sauna on a community lot.
337  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Bon Voyage Woohoo Memories on: 2007 October 18, 17:05:13
I've recently realised that Sims don't seem to get any woohoo memories from woohooing in a tent or hammock. Is this normal for everybody else? Seems a bit wrong to me. I have two hacks in my game related to memories which are MemoryMod and alexx_no_memories_clear, both of which I think I got from MTS2. I've tested the game without them in though and Sims still don't gain woohoo memories which leads me to believe it is a game fault.
If it is a game fault is there anyway to fix it?
338  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Seasons "The Rock Hammer" Guitar Tip Jar is Borked on: 2007 October 17, 16:08:15
Thanks for that. Turns out I was using a version from 2005!
339  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Seasons "The Rock Hammer" Guitar Tip Jar is Borked on: 2007 October 13, 17:15:01
Well I looked for any custom guitar hacks and don't have any but after I removed the whole downloads folder the guitar tip jar was used properly and picked up when finished with so there's something in my downloads causing it. I guess I'm gonna have to manually sift through them to try and find it.

EDIT: Found it! The only two files I had which effect music performance were tippingfix and nobuskers. It was tippingfix causing the problem. They still use the jar fine with nobuskers.
340  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Seasons "The Rock Hammer" Guitar Tip Jar is Borked on: 2007 October 13, 00:42:11
Ok, the problem is that if I get a Sim to perform for tips using the Rock Hammer (or if they do it autonomously) when they finish they never attempt to pick up the tip jar and so it gets left on the floor. When the next Sim comes to use the Guitar they pull out another tip jar and try to place it on the floor but because the slot is already taken the jar ends up floating on the end of the guitar instead! This stops any Sims from trying to give tips since the jar on the floor is from the previous performance and the current one is floating in mid air!
Basically no Sim can ever make money from performing on The Rock Hammer because they never try to pick the tip jar up afterwards.
The only hacks that I can think of having in my game which effect performing music is the tippingfix file from this site.
So I guess, is this caused by hacks in my game or is it just something else EAxis have screwed up?

If any of the above reads incoherantly its because I'm very, very tired.
341  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: BV Stupid Maids Don't Do Anything!! on: 2007 October 13, 00:29:58
Dispite having BV since its release I still haven't played a lot of the lots yet but I have found that the maids on Twikki Island do their jobs fine in my game. The one time I've visited Tikemizu Village though, the maid completely ignored a clogged toilet and complained about obstacles in his way whenever he attempted to enter a guest's room. He did attempt to clean up some plates but gave up before he got to the sink and just dumped them on the floor. He only went back to them just before his shift ended.
I haven't seen any maids in Three Lakes yet as I've only been staying on the campsite.
342  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bon Voyage flashing blue pain and no ffs content on: 2007 October 11, 22:17:51
Whenever I install a new EP the Glamour Life beds always have flashing blue bands on them where the metal should be. As mentioned above, using the design tool fixes it. You don't even have to accept the change. Just open the design option, click on what is already selected and then click on the X.
This also happens to the funky looking beds from University. Well, they don't flash but their textures are screwed.
343  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Birthday cake. on: 2007 May 18, 20:00:13
Next birthday I have I'll have to try putting the cake in a more open area. The two most recent birthdays I've had the cake on a kitchen side. Could explain my party problem.
344  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Birthday cake. on: 2007 May 16, 19:26:15
Well I guess I should be pleased it's not just my game then. I wonder what the hell maxis/EA did to screw that up cos I know that guests used to eat cake in the base game.
345  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Birthday cake. on: 2007 May 16, 16:02:37
I'll get straight to the point: Do birthday party guests completely ignore the birthday cake in everybodies game now or is it just mine? I threw a Sim birthday party and made sure to have a cake. After the candles were blown out the only Sims that bothered to grab a slice were the Sim that had grown up and the parent that took the kid to the cake. Any other Sim that was hungry headed straight to the fridge to get a bag of crisps (I'm English) So, I removed the fridge. The guests stayed for a good while longer, about 5 Sim hours, but none of them, including the ones that didn't eat since arriving, even batted an eyelid at the cake.
I have the awesome hack from this site that is supposed to make Sims go for food that is already available but it didn't seem to do anything.
The packs I have installed are all of the EPs plus FFS and GLS.
346  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: CAS Leprosy: WTF is this? (With illustration!) on: 2007 May 16, 14:25:47
It looks to me as though it's the corner of the shamen career hairstyle from university that's showing up on the corner of your Sims' heads.
347  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Fix for Seasons Male Toddler Hairs on: 2007 May 16, 12:56:40
Have you got a picture of the affected hair? I don't think they show up in my game at all under any hair colour!
348  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Alien and Zombie fitness textures enabled *Update: 3/23/2007* on: 2007 May 16, 12:46:48
Hey thanks for this. I noticed the problem with fit state males a few months ago. I contacted EA about it but they said there wasn't a problem!
349  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Move-ins broke even more in Pets? on: 2006 December 25, 21:53:24
Hi, I'm new here.
Would a possible work around be to place all belongings of great value and/or importance (ie aspiration rewards) belonging to the movee into the movees inventory before you get the invitor to initiate the move? That way can they flog their stuff when they get to the new lot to make up the value they should take with them?
