Those items, as you just pointed out yourself, are from a stuff pack. Although they CAN be bought from the store, they are not exclusive to the store, and so aren't included in the store collections.

I hate it when I know something exists and can't find hide nor hair of it. The collections linked are missing the EF version of the Bride of the Night dress. I probably have a copy kicking around somewhere outside of my EA Games directory myself but don't know if it is the most up to date. (For that matter, I think they are missing the EM vampire outfit too -- what will Pescado wear?)

Of course, the thing I always bring up in these threads is that everyone's tastes and priorities in gameplay are different. Pets is an obvious one, because it adds very little besides the actual Pets, so what people think of it tends to depend very strongly on whether they like cats and dogs. Other EPs aren't usually quite so clear-cut (I'm no big fan of weather but I like a lot of other things about Seasons because it's got a lot of features), but knowing what you like best is a good way to decide what to add next. (I'm also big on new things for Sims to do, so FT appealed to me even before I knew about secondary aspirations -- which I do think carry over to AL, yes. Incidentally, almost EVERYTHING that came with NL has been carried over by some later EP, it is pathetic.)

FreeTime is my must-have now. If I had to give up every EP but one, that's what I'd keep, because I've wanted secondary aspirations pretty much ever since I started playing (plus I do like an awful lot of the hobby activities as well).

Unfortunately for me, I don't like the Maxis coloring at all, so I'll be recoloring everything.
And boy do I know about spending more time tinkering than playing. I want everything perfect before I get seriously started, only it's never actually perfect... but I'm trying to go for quality over quantity this time, and it's better if still time-consuming.

I've been leaning more and more in that direction across the board, yes, JM. Or at least not to import anything back INTO Bodyshop if it's the least bit dark-colored; good grief, the hideous-looking dark-colored clothes I've downloaded in my life, and it's not really that much work to export either. Is it also worthwhile to extract textures from custom content with SimPE even though they are not LIFO?
Hm. I've been making my skintones by cloning a template provided by corvidophile2 which identifies the textures by having the purpose (afbodycut, embodysoft, etc etc) actually written on the template texture, so it's much easier to tell which file to import into SimPE to replace it. Do not know what skintone she cloned it from. However, it's not as if I can't make my own, since if I'm just cloning S4 in BodyShop in order to write text on top of it, the textures don't have to be pretty, and it'll be very easy to do. And it sounds like it's time to switch to non-dependent defaults just to be sure I don't end up with ugly mismatch. It was really driving me crazy, every short hairstyle had that problem.
...so much work just to have skintones in default colors I like, with faces that have all the detail I want them to have without being too shiny or having ten different makeup files layered on them. The end result for the HP-based skintones was fantastic aside from the scalp issue, though, and I've got existing default packages for every skintone in the game except the living statue and a tutorial on how to default-replace anything from scratch.

Thank you both. A lot of that stuff (aside from the technical bits about the LIFOs) I was already aware of thanks to various tutorials (mostly corvidophile's one for making dark skintones without Body Shop destroying the textures), and I'd even made a skintone set and dependent default package that are working nicely and have pretty good actual image quality, but I started from HP's BMPs of her own skintones that she put up for people to download, and eventually I decided that I could not, in fact, live with the scalp mismatch at the back of the neck, so I'm starting over from Maxis.
What's this about cloning S4, though?

Works for me, then. After all the to-do about using actual LIFOs when extracting Stories objects and so on I was expecting something more directly involving them for the best quality recolors too, but then couldn't find a thing. The PNGs are clearly very HQ anyway and about 1/3 the size, plus SimPE gives them meaningful filenames already, so I'm all for it.

All right, I'm stumped, and I know there must be somebody here who's sufficiently into the squishy guts of actual content creation and editing to be able to give me a clue. (Ambular?) I want to make some skintones. I want to start with the highest quality Maxis images I can get my grubby little hands on. So I've located the LIFO files in Sims08.package and so on, but I do not know if there is a way or even a reason to 'Extract' the 6LI files and get them into some format I can edit, or if using 'Export' to PNG is the best I need to do or the best that can be done, and neither Google search (sims 2 lifo, among others) nor the limited searching I can do here (searching on just 'lifo' brings up every thread in which California is mentioned, so I had to use 'lifos' or add extra keywords) has brought up anything useful.

Well, that explains it. I could read the code well enough to see why HCDU said it conflicted with the no reagents mod I was trying out (and well enough to try to make it bypass the reagents check myself, which was exciting if ultimately futile), but not well enough to tell that it wasn't even going to be run in the first place.
(Thanks, BastDawn. I think.)
ETA: While I'm at it, HCDU also says that TJ's Engagement Memory Fix conflicts with ftminifixes. Does this mean ftminifixes contains the same or similar fix (making sure they are correctly set green or red according to aspiration, which I surmise may be related to secondary aspirations somehow)?

I was thinking this was still the thread that I remember from some time back, and apparently cannot find anywhere now, as being a suitable place to bring up mods which had RTFMs (and thus didn't really belong in either the DC thread or the descriptions thread) but did not merit their own thread. Since it was lopped off last fall I can't exactly test my memory. I was having a sufficiently difficult time figuring out where the buggerall to post about a hack that has its own thread, but it is over 18 months dead, that I almost asked for the thing to be moved according to a higher judgement call in the first place. (Also still trying to figure out if I am dealing with borkinated functionality, incomplete functionality, or pebkac error, so as I've clearly got it wrong, I'm requesting it now.)

This document only describes antivisitcampus in the most general (i.e. it does what the filename says) terms. Is this a mod that keeps non-YAs from showing up on campus autonomously, so comm lots on campus aren't full of non-students, and mom and dad don't walk by the dorm? (Actually, I'd expect the local walkbys mod to do the latter already, but.) Or does it do something else or something in addition to that?

Anyone care to share a little insight about how some of the objects with unusual functions work? I can test them myself, yes, but duplication of effort is wasteful. I'm particularly mystified by "Groove mode" on the limbo since I've never seen any additional options come up when someone else was playing the bongos, not to mention what determines success or failure at the limbo, but I'm also wondering about some of the finer points of the hot coals (performance improves with Body skill, but is there anything else going on besides 'try to walk on coals, fail or succeed based on Body'? Does it build any skill?), shaman station, and cauldron.
