I can still burn CD/r and DVD/r's. I'll keep you updated as to when the evil ROOTKIT COMPUTER VIRUS doesn't allow me to anymore. I'm going to install Mass Effect right now then uninstall it and continue to do so until it doesn't let me anymore. I'll let you know when that happens as well. I'll also let you know when the evil BACKDOOR TROJAN doesn't allow me to back up my harddrive onto my backup HDDs.

Don't hold your breath.

I haven't even played Apartment Life. Spore just owns too much. My actual copy arrives today and it will be grand.

Bundled with SecuROM and activation schemes, what more could you ask for?

And if you're willing, you may add your review of the product: http://www.amazon.com/review/product/B000FKBCX4/ref=cm_cr_pr_helpful

Grin

Yeah it still works fine, I haven't been backdoored through the SUPER SECURITY HAZARD THE EVIL SERUROM OPENED WITHOUT MY PERMISSION ITS NOT EVEN IN THE EULA!!!!!!! Its installed on one my my desktops and my laptop and they both work a charm w/o the disc natively. No slow down in computer processes. Not a degree increase in CPU idle temps. My keyboard still works fine.

Seriously, it isn't a big deal. If Spore's copy protection fucked up your computer it was a shitty computer to start with.

Actually, I don't even get it. Why even worry about copy protection when most of you pirate your games anyway?

3  Serious Business / Spore Discussions / Re: Over 900 negative posts about Spore on Amazon on: 2008 September 10, 04:33:56
Spore is great and nerds need something better to complain about especially things that don't really affect them at all.

*says he will never buy the game because of DRM*
*pirates the game because he wants to play it anyway*

Keep sticking it to the man. Its sort of like the Bus boycott only you're riding the bus without paying for a ticket in protest.

5  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / What does the Star carrer reward actually do? on: 2008 August 17, 23:46:14
Its not Snapdragoning me and I can't interact with it so what then.
6  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bon Voyage satisfaction on: 2007 September 11, 01:12:21
Going on vacation seems like it would be something you would want to do more than once, unlike University.

I don't get the Asian theme though.. what with the Chinese New Year theme in the Holidays pack as well. Is the Sims supposed to be really popular in Asia or what? Seems a bit weird. Travel to the mountains, the tropics, and ASIA.  Huh
7  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: 2006 Holiday Pack on: 2006 November 01, 09:21:42

Oh please, why preorder at all if you're not interested in when you get it? For the ugly bonus items that you can download anyway within hours of release? If you wanted to save money, you could have gotten GLS or Pets at Target for $5 less than anywhere else on the "in store day" anyway.

Like I said, if you're happy with the EA store, then order from them. Why would I care when you get your game or how you get it? The only thing I care about is your spreading of misinformation by telling people that you received them on "release" day when you didn't.  I do occasionally go to the BBS to try to honestly help out the sheep as best I can, and statements like that just make things more difficult.

Because some people don't shop at brick and mortar stores.  v Huh v If I am going to get the game, I might as well just pay for it now and let them ship it to me when it is ready. I don't think I have ever downloaded a preorder "bonus" item, either.

And I am sorry I devastated your cause by insinuating that the day the website states the game will be available in stores is the "'release date'". Next time I will say that EA delivered the games to me on "a day that was a week or so after the game had gone gold and 1-2 days after the game had arrived at brick and mortar retail stores, coinciding with the date on the website and all press releases that the game was claimed to be available by, and arriving at a time promptly at 12:15 P.M. Central Standard Time by means of a friendly postal carrier".

I am sure glad I didn't say I got the game on the ship date! Then I'd be in real hot water!

If it says "In Stores on January 23rd!" and the game arrives on my doorstep on the 23rd, I consider that good. If the shipping was free, even moreso.

I am not going to pay someone 5-7 dollars extra to ship it 1-2 days earlier. Who would do such a thing?
9  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: 2006 Holiday Pack on: 2006 October 31, 09:48:25
HAH~I can beat all of you!  I'm STILL WAITING for OMGPETZ from the EA Store which I preordered in August.
I went to their customer service site and asked when it would ship, and they answered with some BS about not being able to cancel the order at this time (which I didn't even ask to do).
I went and bought it from Target and will refuse the shipment when/if it arrives!  Grrrrrrr! Angry
Won't be ordering from them again!

Well, I preordered Glamour Life and Pets at the same time. I used the code for free Pets delivery and got free shipping with Glamour Life shipping free as well. They delivered Glamour Life on the day of release, and Pets on the day after. I'll be preordering from EA in the future.

I can't believe TS1 actually looked like that.

I thought I remembered the game being more rich and detailed than that.

Under what circumstances would you need to delete individual sims like this?
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Automatic NPC/Townie creator? on: 2006 October 27, 08:46:38
Well, I renamed the N001 folder, the D001 folder, and the U001 folder. I left the B001 folder alone, and renamed P001. I created a neighborhood and it didn't crash in the place the other guy did, but I still have N001_User00000.package through N001_User00066.package in my characters folder. I will delete these files and hope for the best.

Thanks for your help.
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Automatic NPC/Townie creator? on: 2006 October 27, 08:29:15
Can I safely just delete those character files by hand without breaking anything?

This is why I was wondering if there was some sort of hack or program that got rid of all the default characters and created a bunch of random ones. So I didn't have to do this again. Smiley
14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Automatic NPC/Townie creator? on: 2006 October 27, 08:14:28
By "special" downtownies I meant the two rich Downtownies Mr. Big and... Miss Big , the two poor slobby sims, and the four Vampire Count(essas). Are they including in the set of downtownies the tree creates, or do they have to be spawned independently (like in the tutorial I linked) of the mass batch spawn?

Also, I renamed the folder, and created the custom neighborhood. I only have one neighborhood, and the folder My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Neighborhoods\N001\Characters has 66 files in it already before I have created any sub-neighborhoods. I assume this is wrong, as you said as much in the other thread. I know I didn't mess anything up to that point, though. Does that have something to do with Pets?
15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Automatic NPC/Townie creator? on: 2006 October 27, 07:58:39
Will this method create the "special" downtownies automatically?
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Automatic NPC/Townie creator? on: 2006 October 27, 07:16:03
Basically, is there a way to do this with a program or tool or something? I've done it about three times and I would like to dump this neighborhood and create another one and not go through 100 clicks on the damn Tree of Life again.

Any help is appreciated.
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sounds like the kind of bonus I get at work! on: 2006 October 24, 20:28:44
Huh how the heck did she have that kind of money?!

That is pretty easy to do with a single sim getting to the top of just about any career track.

I am more interested in having nearly 40 family friends. Ha.
