601  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nightlife bugs on: 2005 September 17, 12:37:03
Remember though, that's with a University and a Downtown. As far as I recall, Uni added about 127 character files (?) so only 130 are Downtownies, new NPCs, etc.
602  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: So what's been fixed in NL on: 2005 September 14, 16:37:24
StarrKist, it sounds to me like you've got an outdated version of the Greater LTW Variety and Sanity hack, that would assign LTWs when the sims aged to toddler, or kids (I forget which one it actually was).
603  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: So what's been fixed in NL on: 2005 September 14, 06:46:31
Will the Uni/NL patch fix the problem that wasn't fixed with the first patch?
That is, the problem where the Dial-Up Connection settings are edited from "Always dial my default connection" to "Never dial a connection". While I will admit the problem has got better (it used to do it each and every time I started up Sims 2, now it only does it when I leave my internet connection running when I start the game), it hasn't been fixed as was claimed with the first patch.
604  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How does a dormie get a degree? on: 2005 September 13, 21:17:29
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they need to be in the Secret Society just to hack grades in the first place.
605  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The Case of the Tree Breaks and the Missing Portals on: 2005 September 13, 21:09:53
There is no reason to type move_objects on. moveobjects on works exactly the same.
606  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I thing I have what is commonly known as the 'dead head' bug on: 2005 September 11, 08:06:49
Try using a teleporter object to teleport the ghost into the house. You'll get the message "So-and-So has died on another lot, etc". Hopefully, that should clear them off the family screen.
607  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Visiting campus at inconvenient times on: 2005 September 08, 16:20:37
That isn't a hack, sims can pee in the bushes with just TS2. However, I don't believe it's an autonomous interaction. Maybe that's what the hack did?

EDIT: See The Email Challenge for more informative information.

The FFS Debugger. Available from the Free Samples section!
609  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Unfulfillable wants on: 2005 August 18, 12:28:17
Yes, my sims can't fulfill that want either. They can't "Become a zombie" either. They get the memory, but the want doesn't get fufilled.
610  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nannies with no sense of time on: 2005 August 17, 19:17:13
Actually, it could be significantly longer, as the site has been in finacial difficulties for quite a few months. This has been quoted from the last mailing list update, dated 30 July 2005;
"Yes folks, primarily for financial reasons, at this point the end is inevitable for our site, merely a matter of when."
I suppose you could use the Insimenator's Temporal Mod to change the weekday instead.
611  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sims storytelling help on: 2005 August 12, 19:02:39
If you turn on boolprop testingcheatsenabled, then you could try Shift+clicking on the active sim, then spawning the "Reaction Tester". You should be able to find a shocked animation using that. Actually, I think the career reward for Art (the camera) might have the same option to do that, but I'm not sure.
612  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Meditations on the Bathroom Controller on: 2005 August 12, 02:26:31
The neighbour freezing in the toilet happened to me as well. The toilet was dirty, and quite possibly broken (I hadn't actually checked whether the toilet had been broken, but it was very dirty). As far as I remember, it was the Ingelogical Pay Toilet. When I made the frozen sim selectable, her queue had been wiped, and all her needs were at max, except enviroment. I gave her a "Go Here" command to go out the bathroom, and she unfroze.

The reason I don't like Co-op is because they overcharge me. In epic proportions. Though I will admit, it is a lot better quality than those two put together, it's the price that puts me off.

I've heard of Spotted Dick, but I can't think of what it is now.

Tesco's sell them here in the UK. In my house it's known as Spotted Private Parts Wink

Tesco's are evil.
No, ASDA is evil. It sells most of the stuff I need one minute, and the next: BAM! The layout's been reorganized, and I can no longer find my favourite brand of carbonated beverage there, forcing me to go to Morrisons, Tescos, or worse, the Co-op!
615  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: HUZZAH! Banned from Rentech.com! on: 2005 August 04, 12:34:46
No, J.M. was saying that he didn't post his post in the thread, as far as I understand it.
616  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nightlife: UGLY! on: 2005 August 04, 11:57:48
I'm pretty sure Superstar came after Unleashed - I remember because installing Unleashed was the last thing I ever did on my old 'puter - when SS came out, I was forced to buy a new one. The things you do for Sims....  Roll Eyes

Oops. My fault. Should have done some fact checking first. Unleashed did come before Superstar according to the Wikipedia articles for Unleashed and Superstar.
617  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nightlife: UGLY! on: 2005 August 04, 11:04:32
Ah. I thought I'd got something wrong. I started with all the Sims 1 EPs preinstalled on my PC, and so most of the first half of the order was worked out by looking at a box set of Prima guides. I thought Makin' Magic was called something different in the US, but if it isn't, blame my memory. From Wikipedia, Vacation was only titled On Holiday in the UK and China, nowhere else.
618  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nightlife: UGLY! on: 2005 August 04, 10:16:01
Wasnt there Superstar too? Or something about fame?
There was, but I think that came out before Unleashed.
As far as I remember, this is the complete order:
The Sims,
Livin' It Up, (Livin' Large in the US)
House Party,
Hot Date,
On Holiday, (Vacation in the US and everywhere but UK and China)
Unleashed,
Superstar,
Makin' Magic

EDIT: Fixed inaccuracies.
619  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nightlife: UGLY! on: 2005 August 04, 09:38:28
No, Makin' Magic was the last one. I think it was called something different over in the US though.
620  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Best way to kill off townie children? on: 2005 August 03, 23:19:47
Why not just delete their character files?   If you kill them, the character files stay there forever taking up space.

When I start a new hood I generate and name the hood then leave the game.  I then go to the character folder for that hood and delete all the character files.  No townies, no npcs.  Then I go back and make my new families.  New NPCs with different names and faces are generated as they are needed.   Paperboy, driver, postman,  etc.   No townies unless you go to a community lot.  Of course there is no one to welcome that first family into the hod but what the hey, they are pioneers.

I also routinely delete all the character files of npcs generated by the slowdown bug.

I haven't ever tried deleting files for townies that have been encountered by pcs but it should work just as well.   With Marsha and the others I just grew them up.  In my game, Marsha is now an adult, married to another townie, has several kids and still spends all her free time calling up everyone in town.  Even dead people.

Isn't it easier to use the deleteAllCharacters cheat?

You could try Pescado's Engrish fixes here.
622  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Unsticky Smartmilk question on: 2005 August 01, 13:24:14
Click Options, then Test IQ on the baby controller to Test IQ. The TC is the Thinking Cap aspiration reward object.
623  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: FFS "Batbox" Lot Debugger v2.0: NUCLEAR WAR EDITION on: 2005 August 01, 09:45:52
sorry for asking, but where do I find the lot debugger? I mean in which buy-section is it and how much does it cost? I've got quite a lot of custom content by now and I thought I'd looked everywhere but I just can't find it..
thanks  Wink

You'll find it in Misc.../Misc. It costs 1 Simolean, which is well worth it.
624  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Selling Virus to the Burglar on: 2005 August 01, 09:35:16
Turn on debug mode, and either Shift+Click on the Biotech Station, or on the virus itself. One of the options should be "Sell virus" or something like that, I'm going from memory (which is not very good at the best of times).

Re: Are kicky bags nuked: yes.
Re: Chairs in use: I have this exact same problem! I've found the only cure to be moveobjects on (or move_objects on, they both do the same thing.) and delete the stuck chairs.
