THANKS THIS IS GREAT

Just realised that community weddings are disabled after OFB.
Any idea if there 's any way to enable the community weddings again ?
I fancy the idea of free wedding cake, free wine etc.

Thank you  Smiley

I have been told - though I can't confirm this through personal experience yet - that the altar from mod the sims 2 still works on community lots.  Let's see if I can find it.  Ah yes:

We were talking about this yesterday here - it should have come up when you searched on wedding...  Wink

Ok, I made up two people and got them married, and moved them in with each other at a community lot. This way you can: 1)see that it is for real, and 2)see that it won't break your game.  Grin

After forming a casual group for fun, he takes Ima to the local church

They get married at the altar, in Maxis wedding gear, and Ima joins the family!

I left the links to the pictures I probably won't leave these up too long because I will run out of bandwidth on photobucket, hopefully this will answer the OFB community lot wedding questions.  Smiley

I wonder if Twojeffs' hack works on the MTS2 altar? I'd like to continue having my sims marry on community lots, but the Maxis wedding gear just isn't going to cut it. If I had to choose, I'd rather hold home parties than have my bride-to-be married in that unflattering sack.

And can I ask, Nec, where the red-paned large gothic window in your screenshots came from? I need more colorful windows for my church, as the grey stone and wrought-iron windows are clashing with my Strangetown Adobe-style church.

I've actually not done a community wedding yet, although I plan to, and no weddings since OFB was installed. But let me get this straight. With OFB:

- You can have a community wedding now iff you use the MTS2 altar, but they will change into their default Maxis wedding gear;
- You can use any formal wear with the new Maxis arch, but you can only use the arch at home.

But you can't have a community wedding with formal wear of your choice?

I have no idea about his hack, there may be some information on it at the altar download page. I got the windows from a lot I downloaded at mts2 (specifically for the windows, but it has a ton of other goodies in it, too) here: http://forums.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=115590&highlight=confession

I got this Lara Croft at Spicy Sims in the models section. I can't post a link, though, since it is an adult site.

From what I read in another thread, you will get married in whatever you have planned for formalwear.  Which makes a lot more sense to me than the previous Maxis method.

I know about the altar but I want my brides to wear my fancy wedding gowns I dl not the boring maxis one Sad
Brides might as well shoot themselves in the foot if they have to get married wearing that ALL the time Sad

So for now, its really a case of choosing b/w altar + maxis wear or wedding arch+ cc gowns+ home wedding?

Nec. I appreciate u showing the pictures! Cheesy
*grasps* there's a goth male wearing a skirt and I have been resisting downloading skirts like that for my males!  Cheesy

Nah, that's the Sephiroth coat from Mimewhite on MTS2. He's still wearing pants under that. Lol.

No problem Smiley Yes, that is the Sephiroth coat, but I have many goth bois in skirts and corsets. I also have a few cross dresses and one tranny. I have a large variety of types in my neighborhoods...makes it far more interesting!

I have those windows too - I got them from MTS2.  I'll post the link later.  I have to go to work now.

LATER:

2 types of church window from Mooz_EZ of mod the sims 2:

http://forums.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?p=778549

http://forums.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?p=775475

Moon_EZ makes some great architectural stuff.

I also have a Rosette Window by Lethe S but I can't seem to find that at MTS2 - maybe she has it up elsewhere?

I had the same problem with finding the Rosette window a while ago, and it turned out that the window is in the Midsimmer's Night Dream thread, which is why it's not there when one searches by Lethe_S.

Well I didn't go looking for it, so I assume this is the case for everyone. It's at the very very end of all the formalwear in the game. Just go buy it from a shop.

There's a prohibition on posting links to adult sites here?  This isn't the BBS

C

I (personally) just make it a habit of not posting links to adult sites for two reasons: One, it just seems inappropriate in case there are younger kids. Two, the link wouldn't work for most people anyway since you have to be a member to download. Why would I want to put up a potentially broken link?

I don't have a clue what the BBS rules are - I have never posted there. I only visit the EA site for patches.

Make sense to you now?

I know necromancy is bad, m'kay?  But I am wondering if anyone ever made a fix for this issue so that sims can use the altar with custom wedding clothes or use the arch on community lots?
