THANKS THIS IS GREAT

I would gladly accept that offer.
Perhaps you could point me to some documentation about those 'bukkits'? I know how to upload files through FTP, but that's all.

THANKS THIS IS GREAT

The updater bat is giving me an error code 9, read the readme;
<snip>
I check, 3booter is in the Late Night directory. I'm going to try and reinstall/redownload the updater manually, see what it gives me. 3booter worked on it's own.
Error 9 means something else:
Code:
Error code 9

Meaning:       The updater couldn't check for compatibility with your game version. This is probably because the server is down.

How to solve:  Try again later or check your internet connection.
Do you have an old readme file?

To all:
It turns out that I was 'abusing' the file host. They removed all files and pages, so the updater can't check for newer versions or download compatibility.txt to check for patch compatibility.
I am now working on v2.4.1, which will remove all update checks and other things which involve that file host. I'll have to find a new one, which doesn't remove everything for... uh, semi-abuse.
Update coming soon.
EDIT: It's there.
EDIT2: Patch compatibility check and test version download wil return in v2.5. Auto-update option will change to a notification.

Updated to v2.4.1 (v2.4.1.110)

Thank god I wasn't the only one, I was prepared to be flamed. Haha. But I had a feeling that it was different than that, because there was no other evidence of old-code 9.
So until v2.5, use 3booter like the olden days, yes?

No, you were using the v2.2 readme. v2.4.1 installs should install 3booter just fine.

This is because I am a noob. Extracted 2.4.1 manually, works like a piece of cake. Dismiss.

Updated to v2.5 (v2.5.0.124)

- Added Outdoor Living Stuff support.
- Added first-run message.
- Changed update check to a notification. You now have to go to this thread and download it yourself.
- Other minor improvements and fixes; see Changelog for details.

Please note that this version automatically determines whether you need the stable or test AM. This is useful for the recently released patch.

Can there be anything done with it, so it doesn't automatically start the game after updating?

Yes, that's possible, but why would you want it to? The meaning of this Updater is to update AwesomeMod when you start the game, not when you think: "Well, let's update AwesomeMod".
But if you really want such a feature, send me a PM or something. Modifying the batch file is not that hard.
I won't add it as some default feature, as it's really not the scope of this Updater.

After following the steps and getting it right I have a slight problem with your updater, it's giving me very harsh lag when in Play, but in Pause I can move the camera fine. My sims are getting long delays when I try to move them. It might be possible that I have too much CC or something might be interfering with the mod. Before I started using this the only problem I had were the Bartenders and Bouncers leaving there post (conflicting with Twallan's Mod and Bar Hours) so I decided to go back to Awesomemod (I had already updated TS3 and didn't see any update for the awesomemod so I had to use something else). I've deleted all my mods except for my cc that are .packages ... I'm not sure what the problem is but I hope I'll find out soon. Sad

blah
The updater doesn't do anything to your game. It is not a mod, but a standalone program that starts the game when it's finished, just like you would do when you'd want to start the game.

Windows only!
And I have a Mac...*sigh*
When you bought your overpriced and overrated Mac, you should have known that you would encounter incompatibilities with almost every program. I do not feel sorry for you.
Macs should be 'user-friendly', but most of the time it turns out that they are not as user-friendly as expected, like now.
Ha ha.

What do you wrap them in to bake them in the coals if you've never seen shiny potatoes?

You should study potatoes more closely. They're trickier than you think.

Is there a way to slow down the error text when we start updater.bat? I keep seeing errors but it scrolls too fast for me to read it. I tried looking for a .log file but couldn't find one.

Also, would anyone be so kind to direct me to proper instructions (or link to a free program) for cleaning up my registry?

Thanks for looking.

The errors that you're probably seeing are normal. But I don't know more, as this is the only information you're giving me.
Gimme: Operating system, x86 or x64, installed EPs/SPs, game version, updater version and everything else that may be of use. Does the game actually start?

There isn't one. It is possible to let it make one, though.

Vista x86 All EP's and only Outdoor Living SP (previously had FL & Loft stuff but those were pirates and I thought might be causing errors - hense the need for registry clean up) version u 2.5.0.124 b 2.6.0.128 s 19 t n (I guess)

Game starts and plays but I get errors 11 & 16 on saves once in awhile.
