I haven't signed in in a while and didn't want to revive this post but Leewells, I realized I didn't have the directx file, from the framework, put in right. That's all =P I know it's stupid.

Issue fixed

Is how I worked with my game a fail or is it the post?

But seriously, I have everything right. The game is updated, AM is the correct version, my resource file is in place, I don't have AM in a sub-folder (inside the packages folder), and I've even tried loading with 3booter and I'm using the FPS limiter. Everything is in place for the game to work perfectly.

I come with yet another shitty sims 3 issue due to the shitty shitty-ness this game has given us.

It's an awesome mod issue where the game doesn't load. I know, I know you guys are sick of all posts about games that don't load.
But, I searched around and people said that awesome mod is the issue. I recently reinstalled the game so it has no CC whatsoever.

(All I had in was AM) The game loads through the stupid film then just sits there at the loading screen with a indefinitely spinning cursor and no music.
I took AM out and the game worked. I was just wondering if Pes knows about this issue or anybody else for that matter. =P

Does anyone else have this problem? Is it fixable?

@ J. M. Pescado

The Riverview-World has no function after "decrapify" can you this fixed?!?

I Drag&Drop the Riverviewfile over the S3RC.exe the decrapify.exe is in the same Folder.

You should LURK MOAR first!!! But I'll answer you, not to encourage stupid questions like that.

You only drag it into the decrapify file not the recompressor.
Please think and search before you ask a dumb question like that. It's been answered at least ten times already. =P

I know you were talking to the OP, but I have lot detail at 1 (The lowest). My FPS decreases similar to yours but mine goes much lower and also randomly, like when I'm rotating the camera a lot.

I tried taking out the FPSlimiter, all that did was make the game even jerkier, and it brought back the grainy screen issue and the dreaded noon and midnight freezes back to life! I'm sticking with FPSlimiter.

Oh, and I do have the store hairs and one custom hair for men. But the lag is everywhere, even when I play default townies with NO cc. Undecided

Hmm...What's your specs?
You may have to turn your graphics lower, turn off Advanced Rendering if it's on and see if that works.

I know someone might slap me when I say I'm playing on a laptop, but in my defense my PC is shitty dust, literally.
I have a Nvidia Ge-Force 8600 GT Graphics card.
2.00 GB of RAM.
2.20 GHz Processor.
Vista (I know, it sucks) I'm getting Windows 7 soon.
I'll try disabling Advanced Rendering and see if it helps.

I've played the game with perfect performance before with even more cc. The patches ruined it for me.

If your frame rate drops below 30, FPSlimiter no longer does anything as your computer is already maxed out, and therefore does not need to be limited. If this is happening regularly, you don't need it at all because your computer is inadequate for running it under the current conditions anyway.

So you're saying the FPS limiter is the culprit here? If so, I'll try and remove it to see if the FPS stays at 30.

EDIT: The only thing I'm worried about is if my computer goes too high on its FPS Undecided Is there a way to edit the FPSlimiter to reduce its effect on the FPS??

I've reached my wits end trying to fix this annoying problem.  It terrorizes me enough sometimes that I'm about ready to throw this game in the fireplace and call it good.

I've got a high end computer system (a $400 video card...what more do you need to know?), yet I'm cursed with stuttering issues when I move the camera around.  It's not a constant stutter...like, there'll be smooth movement, and then a stutter, and then smooth movement again.  Moving the camera in Build and Buy mode is smooth (mostly), but in Live mode, when the game is paused it's least noticeable, and when the game is on normal time it's alot more noticeable.  I won't get started on fast forward time.  There are brief, laggy moments, but I won't get into that either.

I've tried everything in my tech savvy power to eliminate this annoying problem.  The camera shouldn't be stuttering like this...it doesn't happen in other games I have that run smooth as silk, but this one's plagued with choppiness.  Yes I really have tried alot of things.  Checking, monitoring, decrapifying, compressing, merging with all kinds of programs that aren't meant to have to make a game run for Christ's sake!  It doesn't have anything to do with official or unofficial custom content because I've installed and run a new save with just this game and its expansions on another computer (with basically the same specs as mine), and the camera still does its evil little thing that annoys the hell out of me.  Sometimes it will make the game unplayable...like, when I'm laying a bunch of pre-built houses (game ones) down in the hood.  Then a Sim day or two later I'll get assaulted by this constant stuttery lag bullshit and I'll have to load a previous save to get things more, err, back to normal...

Why does this stutter happen?  Anyone else have issues with it?  Any suggestions on what to do to maybe fix the problem?  Or is it because The Sims 3 is just a poorly coded game and should be banished to hell, never to return?  Curses, EAxis!

I wouldn't have brought this up, but it really does bug me when a game should be performing well on a system like mine, and it doesn't.  I'm just looking for a miracle I guess.   Undecided

Just a quick question: Are you using the FPS limiter? If you are you should check what level it's at when playing.

I seem to be having the same stupid issue as you are. For anyone else that might be able to help, I have my FPS at 30 (Which should be more than enough) but when I start moving around, it goes down to 10-20 and because of the screwed laws of physics we see the game as jerky. I tried moving the FPS up to something like 50 to see if it decreased a specific amount of numbers, in hope of it decreasing to something like 30, but it went back down to 10-20!

I don't know what to do. I don't have much cc (Around 160 files, which might seem like a lot but it actually isn't) but the game does the same thing even without any cc; and my graphics options are on a medium level, enough for my game to run very well. The FPS just goes down randomly by itself!

I know the game is built that way but there must be something we can do about it. Additionally, the game itself is slow too, like loading times take a hell of a lot of time. Elektro Guy, are you having the same issue with loading times?

Deleting the cache files seem to worsen the speed since the game has to reload all the thumbnails and such. So I don't think it's a cache issue.
What do you guys think?

I did not condemn you, I just corrected you to make your message clearer. You are the one condemning without investigating me personally, making you the ignorant one.

@ The_Goddess, I might not have a Grammar Police badge but I'm still not the only one correcting people's mistakes without one. Take witch for example (Not to point fingers or anything). Moreover, you could have also been called ignorant when you said I have nothing else to do.

I didn't want to cause any troubles either, I'll try to be more conservative next time. Sorry.

A question for anyone who can answer:

Let's say I decrapify some store content and then my saved games. I play for a bit then go and download some other store content to decrapify.
Do I need re-decrapify my saved games, or is it OK to decrapify them only once?

For the sake of all the others and myself I will NOT be rewriting your "phail" (i.e. Properly and without red marks) since it is an utter disgrace to that which we call "The English Language". Please be careful next time and I hope you return to your "past clear state" (refer to last correction).

I do not understand why you've decided to pick on me, but I've done nothing to you so cut it out. The problem I came to discuss in this thread is simple and on topic. I have files that when run through the Recompressor come up as "Bad File!" (direct quote). I would like it if the Recompressor could tag them and dump them into a text file or move them into a different folder. The End.

I'm a writer by trade, and I have a Masters in English grammar and literature. I am also a technical writer (my day job) and we don't use passive verbs very often (such as the "have" you indicated), wherever possible, or even the word "the", whereas it can sometimes be redundant. If the sentence is gramatically correct without it, then why include it? We also attempt to use present-tense wherever possible, which is why I negated to use past tense (even though you feel it was necessary). Ellipses are fine as long as they are not overused - they have their place. I used ONE - not two, not twenty - just ONE. Much to your chagrin, I'm sure, I am not going to respond to each and every one of your floggings because really, your opinion just doesn't matter. And anyways, I made my point in the post, and that's what does matter; I am not writing a novel for publication for chrissakes (and yes, I have purposefully combined the name "Christ" with "sakes" - I know it's crazy, but well, that's who I am). Chill. Out. And by the way, while we're at it, the stupid kisses were offered in the emoticons available. I made use of one. If "they" don't want people to use them, "they" shouldn't make them available. If you have a problem with me, let's take it offline. But randomly and blatantly flaming people is not cool. If you want to pick a fight go elsewhere - I'm not as into it as you are.

And by the way (and this is just a suggestion), you could always try using your powers for good instead of evil. For instance, you could make yourself useful (and probably use less energy) and actually respond to the issue described in my post. Try it on in the mirror for a bit - it may take some getting used to, but being nice will probably work well for you. And if you can't be nice, then at least stick to the topic at hand and be clear and leave it at that. Honestly, you posts come across as spam, as they are entirely unrelated to the topic in this thread.

I refuse to answer your rambling and only have 3 letters for you (Which could help) F.A.Q!
Additionally, your comment on the emoticon is like saying:"I hire prostitutes because they are there." By the way no one told you to use them; they are there only to be used appropriately.

Oh, and another point, we here use proper English and try our best to make our messages as clear as possible and don't leave words hanging out waiting to be corrected by grammar obsessed MATYians. I did what I felt like doing. You should LURK MOAR before attempting to challenge the MATYian laws. Good Bye and good luck.

P.S: You don't know me so don't judge people by a couple of posts. If I were you I would take this as constructive criticism Kiss
12  Awesomeware / Armoire of Invincibility / Re: TOOL: TS3 Recompressor on: 2010 March 01, 17:59:35
I have many SIMS3PACK files that apparently didn't download completely and therefore have come up as "Bad file!" - I suspect I am not the only one with this problem. I moved those files to another folder when s3rc finds (What??). Once they were in the new folder, I reviewed them separately and downloaded fresh, good copies. I suppose your tool can indicate poorly formed sims3pack files which should be replaced. (I suppose that is what you meant, which by the way the tool doesn't have)

At any rate, it would really be helpful if it (You mean s3rc?) could spit out (What??) a txt file or something with a list of all the "Bad" files it finds. This way, I can batch them all, then weed out the nasty packs and replace them with good ones. Better yet, in a perfect world (Cut the crap), this tool would be able to take bad files and move them to a subfolder or alternate location as soon as it encounters them... (Save the ellipse) In absence of that functionality, however, a txt file would work just fine.

Hopefully I've been more clear. (You can't get any worse that what you just wrote so yeah, you have been clearer)

For the sake of all the others and myself I will NOT be rewriting your "phail" (i.e. Properly and without red marks) since it is an utter disgrace to that which we call "The English Language". Please be careful next time and I hope you return to your "past clear state" (refer to last correction).

I think Pes means you should Decrapify your save games.  Try to decrapify all of the files in the save game folder.  I think Jfade's tool lets you do that.  This is just speculation since I haven't had much experience with Decrapification.

Yeah, I thought of that later.  I'm sure I read that in the Recompressor thread, too.  Had a blond moment, lol.

ETA:  Read moar in the Recompressor thread about decrapifying skins, but I'm still unclear about hacks.

I would like to know too. I'm also supposing we CAN decrapify skins, right?
14  Awesomeware / Armoire of Invincibility / Re: TOOL: TS3 Recompressor on: 2010 February 28, 14:26:32
To contribute something maybe useful for Windows users:

Code:
for /R %%i in (*.sims3pack) do s3rc.exe -fD "%%i"
for /R %%i in (*.package) do s3rc.exe -fD "%%i"
for /R %%i in (*.nhd) do s3rc.exe -fD "%%i"
for /R %%i in (*.sim) do s3rc.exe -fD "%%i"
for /R %%i in (*.dbc) do s3rc.exe -fD "%%i"
@pause
Save this with an text-editor (Start > Run > "notepad" > OK, f.e.) to s3rcBatch.cmd
The file icon has now (depending on your Windows-Version) something like cogwheels.

If you copy this file f.e. in your Save-Folder TOGETHER with the s3rc.exe, and double-click on it, it decrapifies all .sims3pack, .package, .nhd, .sim, .dbc in every subdirectory (i.e. save-game) it can find.

You are a life saver! It atcually worked.

The only issue I had was that it, twice, stopped and said that "s3rc has stopped working", then tried to find a solution but then asked me to close s3rc. I closed it but the cmd continued decrapifying. It went on decrapifying till the end.

I checked the modified dates on all the files it should have worked on but found non that weren't decrapified.

EDIT: Can we leave the s3rcBatch and s3rc in the documents folder or should they be taken out?
15  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Decrapify vs. manual .dbc files? on: 2010 February 26, 13:44:41
I've finished the new Compressorizer, but I'm looking for some feedback. Grab it here:

http://www.jfade.com/temp/maty/Compressorizer1.0.zip

Note that you'll probably have to set the file types to include .nhd, .sim, etc if you are decrapifying. Lemme know if something's missing.

If this program makes use of the decrapifying feature then why isn't decrapify.exe included in the folder? I could only see s3rc.exe

Let me clear up what TashFaun meant (look up dimwit)

Just a quick question: I'm supposing we have to decrapify after we re compress and before we install? Do we also decrapify the files needs to be decrapified (like saves) before or after we decrapify and recompress the CC and also before or after we install the CC?

Doesn't look too bad; I would download it. Too bad I only have the base game.
Do you think it would be safe to download still? Without the risk of my laptop exploding in a Big Fiery Ball Visible From Space! Tongue

It's actually not that bad. It seems like an interesting neighborhood. The only thing I'm not too fond of are the mountain peeks. I would have liked it better if it were smoother. Anyone agree?

No offense, but you did not give any information. Is this base-game compatible? If not, Some of us would appreciate it if you could try and make it so.
22  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: EA to block any and all Custom Content? on: 2010 January 20, 19:48:11
Another mistake and I will really! Meh. Not worth the frustration. Please be careful next time.

If you are going to criticise, at least get it right.  There should not have been a capital T for "the" because it was not a new sentence.  She formatted it like that to fit the link all on one line.  IMHO posts about technical matters are better laid out clearly than strictly as prose, so please relax your sphincter.

Exactly my point: "Plus, the shape of your post is really ugly."
It doesn't really matter anyway.

Oh tickleonthetum, I know exactly what you meant by the "3 dots" but they aren't really appreciated here (for some reason, "I" don't have a problem with them) and are consider to represent "omitted words". Undecided

EDIT:

Where I live all people say "sumit tha mattah?"  instead of "Is something the matter?"

Well that explains it.
23  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: EA to block any and all Custom Content? on: 2010 January 20, 15:01:08
Thanks for clearing that up everyone.  The consensus is that it is scaremongering.  Oh and Pescado, what is a 'non-grahian'?

On a related note... (save an ellipse) I am most definitely not awesome, but, I want to beable be able to use the store content that MistyK posts.  Is this:

http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,17746.0.html

The post I should follow to do so? I.E. Use Delphy's Sims 3 Pack Multi-Extracter to extract the store files then S3OC to combine the resulting files into one big file?

Or is someone maintaining a combined Store Stuff .package that can be downloaded?

Another mistake and I will really! Meh. Not worth the frustration. Please be careful next time.

Plus, the shape of your post is really ugly.
24  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: MOVING DAY POLL! on: 2010 January 11, 19:42:23
Over population was always predicted to destroy our world. I say, Throw out and ban all the N00Bs out of here that use useless emoticons, so that there's more space for awesomeness!!

Why not just clean out the site? Are you willing to do that? Anyway, I go with Kofistan just cause it's more stable.

EDIT: Is the bandwidth problem (here) caused by too much posting and stuff or just over population?
25  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Merging mods to increase Performance! (Manually creating .dbc archives) on: 2010 January 09, 20:03:43
Thank you for this solution. I've decided to try, but after n°3, I can't find import as dbc. All I have is import from file or import from package, and if I choose that, I have save as DBPF.
What am I doing wrong?

P.S: Next time, please read through the thread, because this was answered before.

I had the same problem. When you open the link given here you have two options: "View all files" and a box under it listing the contents of the download. You need to click the link of the s3pe download from the *box* not from the "view all files" > "download". By clicking the latter you get the new "public" version.  But when you click on the link in the box you get the the version you need. Also, you should uninstall your current version before installing the test version.
