Good for you! Cheesy
52  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2009 December 27, 15:02:31
files is a part of the experimental framework procedures of the early mod process. Although it can be made to function, it is an advanced methodology not suitable for peasantry, and can be ignored. Or deleted.

I'm supposing it has something to do with #grah and it's experiments to turn us all into piles of dust, and I am not worthy to discuss its greatness..............runs off and turns self on fire..........

Thank you!!!
53  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Weird issue... on: 2009 December 27, 14:51:49
Very simply: I was in the game, went out then back in...
Launched 3booter (with FPS Limiter).
I get to the main-menu, and click to make a new neighborhood.
It loads one eighth of the bar and then crashes.
I go to the Sims 3 directory (I only have the base game) and run the 3booter from there; same results...
I go into the bin folder and launch the long forgotten Sims 3 launcher. (I tried both application files)
Result:
"Application has generated an exception that could not be handled./ Process ID=0x7f0 (2032), Thread
ID=oxf4c )3916)./ Click OK to terminate the application./ Click CANCEL to debug the application."
I click CANCEL and this comes up:
"No registered JIT debugger was specified. (figures?)/Click on Retry to have the process wait while attaching a debugger manually./ Click on CANCEL to abort the JIT debug request."

Now what? I was JUST using it... It's dead.

Oh yeah, i clicked retry and it did nothing Tongue

EDIT: I get rid off the mods folder, enter the game with my CD. I click on the options tab to see if they are too high and it crashes instantly...

EDIT 2: I enter task manager and find THREE Sims 3 Launcher apps open, they aren't actually open in our physical dimension though.

EDIT 3: I accidentally double click on my config file and it gives me the same message "application has generated...blah...blah...blah..."
I try reinstalling Delphy's "MonkeyHelper" again and try... I know it might have nothing to do with it but it's worth a try.

EDIT 4: I get into the game using the TS3 app in the Bin folder.
It loads the game, but this time I enter my old saved game. It takes about 3 minutes to load but eventually does! I re-enter the main menu to make a new neighborhood. Same result... crash... Note: The options tab now opens and everything should be tolerable. P.S.: I uninstalled MonkeyHelper and am through with it...

EDIT 5: I forgot to say this: I'm trying to make a new "Sunset Valley" neighborhood, my old saved game is "Riverview". I'll see what happens when I try to make a new "Riverview" neighborhood.

Can you forget about the retared Audrey person and Answer my question. I repeat:

What exactly is the"files" folder for? It's part of the framework download and is next to the packages folder.
Also, if I edit my original resource folder, should I edit the one in the "files" folder too??

P.S.: Sorry Audrey for the name calling Tongue But Pescado and the others are right...
55  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2009 December 27, 10:41:33
Just a quick question: What exactly is the"files" folder for? It's part of the framework download and should be put next to the packages folder.
Also, if I edit my original resource folder, should I edit the one in the "files" folder too??
56  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: I'm Just Not Awesome Enough ... I Need Help, Please on: 2009 December 27, 10:23:41
"Blank"

Just making sure you look at the EDIT I made in my last post
57  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: I'm Just Not Awesome Enough ... I Need Help, Please on: 2009 December 27, 09:52:35
In the framework folder you download from here there is a "Files" folder. It contains another resource file in it. Although I don't exactly know what it's for, I still put it there (next to the packages folder) and edit it every time I edit the original resource file (in the directory). Do you have it? Maybe it might help.

I'm stressing on working with the resource files cause that was my issue in the past...

EDIT: I don't have WA so I don't have that much experience with knowing where the files should go: In the Sims 3 directory or WA directory...
Just to make sure, here are some things you should consider:
1) Did you use the online config tool?
2) If you did, you should put it AND the original awesome mod download in the SAME place.
3) Did you get the TEST version or just the normal version. You should get the test version cause you have the latest patch.
4) What other mods do you have?
5) I'll come up with other things later...
58  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: I'm Just Not Awesome Enough ... I Need Help, Please on: 2009 December 27, 09:35:23
Does your resource file allow you to use sub-folders? I had that problem. It wasn't in a sub-folder but when I edited my resource file it worked out for me...

EDIT: Paste what's inside the resource file here (open it with notepad) and I'll see if I can help.
59  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Not finding patch for area code... on: 2009 December 23, 17:44:53
You have a keyboard. You could just CHANGE the links to whatever area code you need.

If you read my post: I did just that and it said it couldn't find the file.
60  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Not finding patch for area code... on: 2009 December 23, 13:19:07
It worked out, thanks!
61  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Not finding patch for area code... on: 2009 December 22, 22:34:36
What do you call this??

http://akamai.cdn.ea.com/eadownloads/u/f/sims/sims3/patches/Sims3_1.8.25.003002_from_1.7.9.002002.exe
http://akamai.cdn.ea.com/eadownloads/u/f/sims/sims3/patches/Sims3_2.3.33.003002_from_2.2.8.002002.exe

It only took less than a minute of threatening the grahians before someone spilled it, too. Is there a corresponding patch out for Mac?

Topic: Patch 1.8/2.3 plus Create a World Released

Position: ninth post from bottom...

If he posted another one with the 0001 area code then I didn't see it... sorry....
62  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Not finding patch for area code... on: 2009 December 22, 22:06:05

Are those the ones in the same thread (on the CAW and new patch)?? Because the ones I found there had the 0002 code (it ended with 2 not 1)

thanks I'll try them out Cheesy
63  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Not finding patch for area code... on: 2009 December 22, 16:39:52
Before anyone kills me, I would have posted this in my last thread but they closed it.
I read in the post on the new patch that to download the direct download for the 1.8 patch you just need to change the value or the area code in the link (pescado gave) to your corresponding area code... however, it isn't working for me. It's telling it can't find the file (figures!) My area code is something like 0020001. I know it ends with a 1. Does anyone have a separate link to the patch for that specific area code?
64  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: SERIOUS problem!!! on: 2009 December 05, 17:37:47
Here are some in-game pics of the event

NOTHING! the pics seem to be showing me a game that is behaving in uttermost perfection!! Translation: That's weird, it didn't record them in the pics. I suppose you were right Pescado, it's the graphics card not the game. (but of course the game started it)
65  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: SERIOUS problem!!! on: 2009 December 05, 17:28:02
That sounds very much to me like an overheating meltdown. When graphics cards overheat, they start to draw garbage all over the screen. On top of that, you're on a laptop, which means your heat dissipation is almost certainly inadequate, and may even remain so even if you're using 3booter + fpslimiter. If you're not, you're definitely set for a meltdown. My suggestion? Get a thermos full of liquid nitrogen, and periodically pour some into the vents, onto the heatsinks. Not a lot, just a bit. That, or encase your computer in a block of dry ice.

lmao Cheesy so should I try 3 booter and fpslimiter? It might help Undecided but the problem is it has only happened twice (once before and now)

I remember, the last time it happened it was also at around 1 am (like now) but why does the graphics card over heat when it should be the processor?? (Because the latter is doing the job of loading up all the sims and stuff) I must also "re-point out" that I had awesome mod story mod ON when this happened so why would it freeze at 1 am??
66  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / SERIOUS problem!!! on: 2009 December 05, 16:58:27
Let me just say that if there any spelling mistakes forgive me because me screen is screwed up.
This has happened before, and basically what happens is that during game play my game freezes, the UI disappears and when it comes back quarter of my screen is normal the other three quarters is... eh... how can say this? well, it's cut a little higher (or lower?) than the rest of the good screen and there are qixely lines all over the screen.
Not only in-game!! But also out side the game (hence, any spelling mistakes) And I must say the Emotics are hilarious this way!!! hehe
Back to business... I suppose this is happening at mid night, which might make it related to the plague of midnight lag. Also, I must point out that before this "in-game session", I didn't have awesome story mod on; but when I changed it (right now) (because it crashed, because I knew it was EAs stupidity) I entered my game and in less than a minute of loading my save, this issue arises. I had this problem before (but only once) and at that time I had the older config file put in.

It's weird cause I not sure what is causing this: the midnight lag, or awesome mod glitching (which it rarely does)
Also my copy of the mod just expired and i got a new one (same version as before) and then this series of events took place.

When I exit the game the pixel lines stay there!!

For those of you that will most definitely be asking me for my specs they are: (An acer Aspire 5920G Laptop)

Intel Core2 Duo CPU T7500 2.20GHz 2.20GHz
RAM: 2 GB
32 bit operating system
Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT 512MB

I hope that's enough
67  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Selling games, and registered ones?? on: 2009 December 05, 14:51:35
Your sarcasm meter is broken.

You shouldn't assume that people will distrust or dislike you just based on your ethnic background. That has little to do with who you actually are, and any intelligent person would not judge you due to it, or judge a whole ethnicity by its fringe members. As MATY has a higher intelligence quotient than your standard Sims site, it should follow that we as a group are less likely to do such judging (excepting the fringe members, like as to like).

The fact that you would assume such and that you are making excuses for yourself and begging for help instead of getting off your ass and just posting the games to whatever auction/private sale site you can use over there, or putting them in your country's equivalent of a garage sale (how I dumped my Sims1 disks for $5 a piece), that's what we judge you off of. Your words and actions.

The donation idea is a poor one. Any legit place is going to do one of two things:
1. Not accept it, since according to the game companies, reselling is piracy.
2. Give you a credit for about $2 per title. That's not worth using as a write-off.
That's based on American taxation, where donation credits are really only valid if you have donated more than $500 in a year. You are in Lebanon. I don't know how your system works.

Thanks Zazazu, I totally agree, this place is different. But you never know. I mean, I've been judged before. I've even been judged at school for being American, but that's basically history. Now, I regret typing in that PS (even though it was necessary) cause there are always people that put markers on other people's foreheads...

And I also agree about not donating them, it's not that I'm don't have the "good" trait, hehe, but because firstly, No one would take them here; and secondly, it isn't that practical anyways...
68  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Selling games, and registered ones?? on: 2009 December 04, 14:44:15
Or you could donate them. Granted you may miss out on a $1 profit, but hey, at least your are getting rid of them. And if you want to be tacky about it, you could total the cost of the games brand new, get a donation slip for it and write it off on your taxes as a charitable donation.

I have the "good" trait, but it only comes out from its lonely hole during cave-ins Tongue hehe

P.S: I'm half American and half Lebanese. I'm saying that cause people usually get confused and try to avoid talking to me. Because Lebanese people are usually against the US. Don't worry I don't BITE (much!!) Cheesy

Most people avoid talking to you because you are an idiot.

Why, thank you for your sarcasm Cheesy
69  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Selling games, and registered ones?? on: 2009 December 01, 18:43:04
AloeOwl, just man up and post it on Ebay. Quit whining. It's tiresome.

You'll get what you get. Either way, it's more than you have now.

Thanks you guys. The problem is I live over-seas (Lebanon!!). So I'll have to see if my relatives in the US have any experience with Ebay. I hope I get a sucker to buy them Wink

Anyway Zazazu, Your right, I'll get some money out of it. I just think, now, that the Sims 2 was a waste of my money. I'll have to search MOAR!!

P.S: I'm half American and half Lebanese. I'm saying that cause people usually get confused and try to avoid talking to me. Because Lebanese people are usually against the US. Don't worry I don't BITE (much!!) Cheesy
70  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Selling my sims 2, and selling registered games. on: 2009 December 01, 13:57:44
Yeah, but keep in mind that with the account already registered, you cannot change the registration in any way, so the entire package is worthless. Granted, it's possible to sell worthless things to suckers, but what you're selling has a value of zilch.

So what do you think I should do? I don't want to keep these guys in my drawer; they bring back bad memories (plastic faces, stick fingers... AHH STOP THE AGONY!!!)

sorry... I honestly would love a good deal (cause I payed roughly 370$ for them all, including spore and creepy and cute parts) But I hope they bring me at least 100 bucks all in all...

I mean they are in perfect condition... Undecided

72  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Selling games, and registered ones?? on: 2009 November 30, 19:52:23
Basically, I want to know what the best site is to sell games. I did some research and it seems EBAY is the best place. But I've registered my games online. Does it matter? Should I give the customer my user-name and stuff?? I have no idea Embarrassed ... What sites do you recommend? And do you have experience with this stuff? Undecided
73  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Editing the resource file? on: 2009 November 29, 09:18:57
resource.cfg is not a part of AwesomeMod and modifying it is unrelated to AwesomeMod.

Oh, sorry Undecided I just posted i here cause I got it from the awesome mod download. Thanks anyway

EDIT: I changed BOTH of my resource file with this code:

PackedFile Mods/Packages/*/*.package
PackedFile Mods/Packages/*/*/*.package
PackedFile Mods/Packages/*/*/*/*.package

PackedFile Mods/Packages/*/*.Sims3Mod

2.  Every night at exactly 1:00 AM the Sims game crashes.  I have to remove Awesome restart Sims, pass the 1AM time slot then save the game, quit, install Awesome again and then restart Sims.
Enable AwesomeStory. It's superior anyway.

Crysill is most probably right. it worked for me Undecided
75  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / *FIXED* Editing the resource file? on: 2009 November 29, 09:01:54
OK, I found out that the new resource file with AwesomeMod doesn't allow sub-folders. Does anyone know how to change it (with details)
Also I read that I have to change the other resource file in the "files" folder. Is that true? And what is that folder for anyway? (It contains a resource file and another note-pad file) Huh
