27  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re_colouring hair. Is it safe to delete unused files? on: 2006 September 13, 21:56:00
If I wish to re-colour a single gender and age hair colour, is it safe to delete all the other extra files.

Eg:  I wish to re-colour hair for a young adult male only, can I delete all the other files from the projects
folder that don't belong to the young adult?

Will deleting the files, muck up my body shop/CAS?

What hair will all the other ages end up with when I choose them?

I was pondering on testing this for myself, but I don't fancy Body Shop crashing because I messed up something.  I also don't
want to load Body Shop (which takes an age in itself), to export files, exit Body Shop, delete files, re-load Body Shop.
28  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Where's my Refresh Rate? on: 2006 September 11, 22:42:43
Update on my situation.

In full screen mode, my refresh rate is active, both in neighbourhood, and individual lots.

In windowed mode, refresh rate is greyed out.

Just make sure you don't try to install The Sims 2 base game after any of the others. Grin

You do see it, when there is a programme on tv about computers, the computer screens flicker like crazy.

Time to remove her administrator priveliges.

I have done that now, thanks for the reminder.  The kids have the guest account.
32  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Skintone filenames question on: 2006 September 07, 20:49:34
They can't use t for toddler, because they have t for teen.

P for pre,  possibly.
33  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Where's my Refresh Rate? on: 2006 September 07, 20:45:22
My refresh rate is greyed out in windowed mode too.  I thought it was because I had a flat screen monitor.

*off to check full screen version.
34  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Skintone filenames question on: 2006 September 07, 17:10:17
It is one of the child stages, it covers both genders.

pfm = p/female/male.
35  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Not Sims related, but a rant, and help needed. Google toolbar? on: 2006 September 07, 17:01:24
Usually if you choose custom install instead of standard or default install, you can choose not to install bundled apps. Unless you're installing QuickTime, which forces you to install iTunes at the same time. You can then uninstall iTunes with Add/Remove Programs, but most likely stuff is left behind in the Registry. Apple sucks.

Yes, when it is I installing, I don't usually get the bundleware.  But, when it is my daughter who is trying to do it in a hurry, because I told her specifically NOT to install something, is entirely a different matter.

Thanks everyone for the rapid help.

I have google as my home page.

Didn't mean to offend anyone, one mans meat.........., as they say.
37  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Not Sims related, but a rant, and help needed. Google toolbar? on: 2006 September 07, 06:09:39
My daughter, has installed 'live messenger'.  Along with the installation she has added the google toolbar.

I cannot see any way of getting rid of it.  I am so damned pissed of with her I could wring her neck.

Does anyone know how to get rid of it please?

I have tried 'add remove programmes'.  It isn't listed.

I have tried all the clicky tabs, I can't see an option there either.

I don't want it, I hate it, and it has made my browsing window smaller.

Frankenbeasley, I have just uploaded a male pj'd Sim.

Two posts up.

1) Vampires: I want my vampires to be able to 'Sleep in Formal'. I haven't yet seen a vampire movie where they get into their pyjamas before cold-footing it to their coffin.

This one is easy using body shop to reassign formal into sleep wear.
40  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Disaperaing eyes on: 2006 August 29, 11:37:31
You need to extract face makeup that has they eye attatched, to alter.

With nightlife there is a blue face makeup that has they eye you can recolour.

I export that, import an ordinary skin coloured face over the top, delete the coloured one, then alter the eye only, you then get contacts for the default skin colours.

Lets hope someone else does that, and lets us both know how they did it.
42  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Body Shop and Hidden Skin Tones? on: 2006 August 25, 13:44:35
Is it possible to get the hidden skin tones to show up in Body Shop?

IE:  Vampire, Alien etc.

Would this work.

Access hidden skins in CAF.  Make vampire, alien etc.  Move sim to a lot.  Upload to exchange.  Download back again.  Hidden skin would then be accessible in Body Shop?

*off to try.

UPDATE

Doesn't work, only alien and zombie shows up.

Buy a small community lot, deck it out with all the romance items, hot tub and such.

Go to the business, close it, set hour, invite whoever.

Arrive back home, the spouse hasn't a clue.

Playing this scenario, I havn't had any passers by either, so no jealousy from a another love interest.

Slightly off topic.

Homecrafter generates groups.cache too.

Groups.cache appeared as homecrafter was closing.

I don't have a clue who Lua is.
46  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Request for a pic of winrar nag screen. on: 2006 August 22, 20:41:06
you dont even see the nagware screen if you simply right click on the file and choose extract since it never actually 'opens' the file.

For intelligent people this isn't a problem, but over there, if it is not explained, they will cry and moan and make 50,000 threads about it.

OMG11!!!!11  "woolprop killed my winrar"
47  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Request for a pic of winrar nag screen. on: 2006 August 22, 08:27:26
Marvellous, thats exactly what I was after.

*hits the thanks button.

If you would like to know what I did with your snapshot, here is a link to what I have done with it.

Beware BBS link

This is a work in progress at the moment.  Uploads there are more successful when done a little at a time.
48  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Disaperaing eyes on: 2006 August 22, 08:17:18
If this is a really stoopid question and solution,  slap me with a wet kipper.

Is it possible to put teens through the plastic surgery thingy?

If so, couldn't the eyes be changed there?

49  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Request for a pic of winrar nag screen. on: 2006 August 22, 08:09:16
I need a screenshot of the winrar nag screen.

I am trying to help some people who are having trouble with winrar, I need a pic of the nag screen.
I would use one from my winrar, but I just downloaded it again, and am too impatient to wait for the trial to run out.

Could some obliging person please upload one, or send me a link in PM.

I would post this in Retardo Land, but I don't know what sort of crap people will post in there.

I will press the thanks button for all obliging people.
50  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Disaperaing eyes on: 2006 August 21, 20:39:58
I can't help then, I was hoping they were downloads and you inadvertently deleted them.

Would have been an easy solution.
