Sorry about being Necromantic or whatever but I wanted to let you know this mod also works in The Sims Pet Stories as well as Castaway Stories.  Here is a clip of my Pet Stories game.

53  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Whats in your UserStartup.cheat File? on: 2008 October 24, 12:33:03
Try a different alias? Maybe 'mon' is something reserved in the game?

At first I tried 5 different cheats using the alias precursor...none worked. Then I used only one to simplify before posting here. Tried various forms...nogo.

I'm starting to suspect it's the alias command itself. Perhaps they removed that functionality for XP sp1 in one of the expansion packs. I've come across a few programs that won't install to sp1, but never noticed anything that installed, operating improperly.

Meh, alias is only a convenience feature, anyway...I've mostly memorized the cheats I use frequently Smiley

I use this and it works for me
alias mo+ "moveObjects on"
54  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Creating Vacation Locals Question on: 2008 October 23, 01:13:21

55  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Creating Vacation Locals Question on: 2008 October 23, 00:27:55
I have downloaded all the templates, hacks and "make vacation local fix", and jordi's better name mod and default skintones, eyes and face replacements,  but I wondered whether it would work to let the game generate the locals as an when needed.  I dont mind too much on the fact that the skintones might not be correct, its mainly getting rid of the fuglies that is my problem.

So the question is:  Will the game generate the locals for me if I dont do it?
56  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: List of Empty and Cleaned-up Templates. on: 2008 October 21, 02:11:00
Thank you.  Wink  this has made finding the necessary files easier and pain free.

OMG I just realised I am going to miss Goopy as well  Cry   NOT, LMAO, no fugly sims!
57  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Poncy Promenade - why not rent a house instead? on: 2008 September 15, 03:16:41
Well I tried playing your lot, it runs okay but I have a high spec PC.  The house however is a bit broken and needs some attention, also I am not sure if you listed all EP's and SP's needed and I dont actually play every EP.  Not that I cant, because the game is fast enough and my downloads folder is limited to under 4000.  I never let it get over that.

So before I moved simmies in, I changed it to Residential and then furnished, took me hours but when I changed it to apartments, now the sims are happy.

Great apartments, nice space, lotsa room.   Wink   Smiley

59  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Genie Replacement on: 2008 September 09, 01:20:01
Thank you, I think its much better than the original genie colour.
BTW Can anyone remember the genies colour from Sims 1?

61  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Empty and Cleaned-up Templates. [UPDATED] on: 2008 September 06, 02:04:10
Thank you, these files for AL work perfectly for me, the newly created Social Townies created with my installed default replacement CAS faces all look much better, not to mention Jordi's name mod, that gets rid of the names Eaxis decides we should have.
62  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Empty and Cleaned-up Templates. [UPDATED] on: 2008 September 05, 14:32:48
For those that only want an empty Belladonna Cove, here it is:

Back up E001
put file in C:Programs/EA Games/The Sims 2 Apartment Life/TSData/Res/UserData/Neighborhoods/E001
Delete characters in Characters folder
delete Bella Donna Cove if you already have it in your neighborhoods folder in my documents.

If we delete all the characters wont it delete all the families, there are 1 or two that I am interested in keeping.
63  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Empty and Cleaned-up Templates. [UPDATED] on: 2008 September 04, 17:17:35
I made an empty template for AL if anyone's interested?

Back up E002
Put file in C:/Programs/EA Games/The Sims 2 Apartment Life/TSData/Res/NeighborhoodTemplates/E002
Delete characters.

I have tested this and it seams to be working so far, since this is my first I wonder if I done it right?

To test this thoroughly would it make a difference if I deleted the E001 neighbourhood located here.
C:\Documents and Settings\Aaliyah\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Neighborhoods

So that the neighbourhoods could be fresh.
64  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Empty and Cleaned-up Templates. [UPDATED] on: 2008 September 02, 23:02:36
There is a tutorial here, but I am not sure if it is correct.,5861.0.html
65  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Empty and Cleaned-up Templates. [UPDATED] on: 2008 September 02, 16:56:03
Hmm. Someone reported that for the new social groups and witches, it's enough to delete their template character data, then the game will create new ones based on someone's very own templates, and everything should work fine. Would you people agree or am I overlooking something?

Well that's not also need to edit the template because the memories and stuff are still there which eventually will bork your in jumping bug, those weird bubbles with stripes...I wouldn't do it. It's the same with all the templates...deleting all the characters is NOT enough. That's why it's called empty and CLEANED-UP Templates...

...and afaik there won't be any cleaned-up AL template as long as there's no updated just wait and drink rum.

At least that's what I know.

The new QA version of SimPE is out and is compatible with Apartment Life, you need to download it from their forum.
66  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: My apartments show up as buy, not rent on: 2008 September 02, 13:53:00
Dont build beach lots and apartments, because it can become bugged.  Something to do with the beachfront water of something.  Perhaps EA will fix it in a patch, or mess it even worse, since thats what happened with Free Time.   Grin   Cheesy
67  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Apartment Life Borkiness, or how i ended the world in 1 hour. on: 2008 September 02, 13:50:57
I have the ACR hack in game and when I chose to do casual woohoo Autonomy, they did it upside down in the pull down bed, which was CLOSED.   Shocked   Grin
68  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Can you rent an apartment with a table in it? on: 2008 September 02, 11:47:52
Carrigon has done some hacks for this, you can rent an apartment fully furnished.

The rest of the hacks for Apartment Life are here

Cool, those rooms are very big, you could split them in half and create more bedrooms.  Grin
70  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Apartment Life Pre-orders on: 2008 September 01, 16:54:39
But just a question : the computer, TV and stereo, have they got the Apartment Life, FreeTime and BonVoyage interactions ?

No. What are you thinking its EAxis.

Actually they do have the FREE TIME interactions such as "Watch Movie", I havent tried "Tinkering", but if "Watch Movie" is availalbe then it should be there.  I dont have BV installed, so not sure what those interactions are?

71  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Gunmod's Radiance Light System 2.3 beta 1.6 on: 2008 September 01, 16:43:38

*2.3 Bata 1.6* AUG-30
--Enabled specular highlights for UseShaders true and false
--Compatiable with Apartment Life.
--Increase sealed room ambient lighting.
--Changes to dawn and dusk.
--Changes to seasons.
--Decrease dawn light intensity to objects.
--Reduced Vanity light intensity.

Notice: Userstartup.cheat has been updated for 1.6. You need to update Userstartup.cheat and The Sims 2 folder this includes 1.5 users. (Check "How to update" in readme)

I've increase sealed room brightness more. have you checked your brightness? a single windows will usually light up the whole room.

Thank you, I will certainly do this one for Apartment Life, I uninstalled it before Apartment Life, because I was worried that we couldnt edit the building.  By enabling build mode while sims are in residence, could make the apartment system break.  And the lot be inhabitable.

Can I suggest before anyone moves a sim into certain lots, go in change the lot to residential, exit the lot, re-enter the lot, add windows to rooms, that have no windows, change lot to apartment and then exit the lot.  The lot is now ready to move into for apartments.

boolprop aptSubLotSpecificToolsDisabled false                   "Enable Buy/Build Apartment"
boolprop aptSubLotSpecificToolsDisabled true                   "Disable Buy/Build Apartment"
changelotzoning apartmentbase                                      "change lot type to Apartment"
72  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Gunmod's Radiance Light System 2.3 beta 1.5 on: 2008 August 28, 11:53:23
It's strange but somehow its not working right for me, cause in game the rooms are so dark, that to get it lighter I have to put a window on every part of the wall.  Also rooms that are inside a house, like the bathrooms in the Pleasant's home is totally blacked out.  Is that meant to happen?

If so, DO NOT USE THE RADIANCE SYSTEM with APARTMENT LIFE, as you cannot put extra Windows and I also found some apartments do not have windows in rooms.
73  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Apartment Life Pre-orders on: 2008 August 28, 11:50:32
Have you guys noticed that the TV in game that is with Apartment Life has all the FREE TIME actions, something that was missing always when we got the new game.
74  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is there a way to get rid of a baby before it's born? on: 2008 August 21, 12:28:43
The INSIMENATOR aborts the pregnancy but there is no memory  Sad

So I use the INTEENIMATER and triger a MISCARRIAGE, at least there is a memory to it and is great for stories.   Grin
75  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: *stomps on Brandi Broke's uterus* on: 2008 August 21, 12:18:28
Well I did sim surgeries on all my sims and funnily enough the first child Brandi had - wasnt a boy, but twin girls.  Just because I changed her makeup and did her clothes over, I didnt touch anything about her.

Brandi has always been fertile, I have noticed this before Free Time.  I changed all my sims with Family to Knowledge with a second aspiration of Family, because it was becoming too much.
