As for the relics, in buydebug, there are relic spawners. In build mode, there should be an option to ctrl+shift+click treasure chests to spawn relics as well, either one-time or regularly spawning. The ones you can buy outright are not collectible common relics, just decoration. It also takes a while for the treasure chest to respawn the treasure. but I haven't tested that out as thoroughly.
Here's a guide to make tombs if you really need it: http://www.carls-sims-3-guide.com/worldadventures/tombbuilding.php

Also, nobody cares about you rebooting your computer or your conclusions about how Awesomemod works. Once you figure it out, great. Most people have probably figured it out too and didn't go around posting rhetorical statements.

DCBackup is useless. They're back-ups. It's DCCache that you shouldn't delete.

Also delete CASPartCache, compositorCache, scriptCache, and simCompositorCache while you're at it. And don't download from the exchange; try to find your CC directly from the maker/modthesims or some other way from now on. Don't ask about installing .package files either; it's all in The Pudding Factory somewhere.
28  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: Building Your Own Apartments: Late Night on: 2010 November 17, 00:27:04
Well, just note the callbox, from my experience, is used if you have another Sim that wants to visit the complex in a different level than the lobby/an NPC that may not have a formal apartment door or is on another floor.

The method with two houses, and the NPC door being visible as well as the Sims' apartment being on the main floor, should be able to work without the callbox. Of course, if it doesn't work, you can just buy one and place it after the fact... right?

As for the kid changing species in the womb, I'm assuming that's how my mummy kid was born.

How did that work out? Was the baby just a black cutout, like when mummies try to change into martial art outfits? What happened when they aged up?

I know it's a bit off topic; you don't have to answer. I'll probably attempt this myself in an experimental save file, I'm just curious as to how all that panned out.
30  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: Building Your Own Apartments: Late Night on: 2010 November 08, 22:50:22
NPC's have moved into my (completely) custom apartment no problem. Although, I have totally restricted/turned off story progression, made sure that every house that isn't occupied did NOT have a bed/refrigerator (which means NPC's cannot move into those homes) and so, most all NPC's have flooded the apartment complexes (Seriously, like 20 of them are jammed up in 2 technical rooms, the same thing with the other two pre-made apartments in my neighborhood.)

So, what you might want to do is check other houses in your neighborhood and make sure NPC's can't move in there. I had placed the apartments after playing the neighborhood, though I did do a "killallhumans" which probably caused the game to generate new NPC's who then decided to live there. There are other commands like that using Awesomemod like "Rapture" and whatnot, after setting your preferred families as sacred. That would force the game to generate new NPC's as well. Of course, do all these with caution, back up your save yadda yadda...

I've read somewhere that the vomiting is not vampire-induced, but rather, when Sims eat from the food truck there is a chance that a mass of them will get food poisoning. Considering I have not seen Sims having a vomitfest outside of Bridgeport, I'm assuming that's what it is.

ETA: I'm also getting the jealousy-type thing for Sims who aren't even romantic interests of people who flirt at a party. My Sim has lost friends twice because of a Sim FRIEND who flirted with someone else, causing a relationship hit for EVERYONE at the party. Granted, the Sim was flirting with someone outside of his/her marriage, but what should the other Sims care?
32  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Vampires on: 2010 November 07, 04:03:00
Is there any real purpose to having your vampire Sim sleep on the "Vampiric Sanctum"? Awesomemod shows that there's no additional benefit, but I'm just curious as to why they put a special vampire bed in the game that doesn't even give them the "slept like the dead" moodlet (as from beds which have the "well rested" moodlet) other than it looks "cool." I mean, shouldn't it at least serve a more practical purpose too? Shouldn't speshul bed be extra speshul for the limited amount of Sims that can use it? /rant

Is this just a symptom of my general game borkage, or has anyone else tried to hire a butler, only to have them get stuck or disappear after something like a day? If you reset them, they implode, completely disappearing from the game. I can't seem to make a new one show up either. Bah. I liked the idea of having a house slave I didn't have to control.

I actually had this happen to me too. Since the butler still existed, I couldn't cancel the services. What I ended up doing was using Twallan's MasterController on a computer to "focus" on the butler hoping she was still in the world. Sure enough, she was in somebody else's house making PB&J's. So I sent my sim over and dismissed her, and then called for new butler. It ended up being the exact same butler, but it's been a few sim weeks now and she's still at the house so I guess that's a good thing.

So, if you don't have the MasterController maybe scan your neighborhood to see if they're still around town. I actually didn't think of using resetsim, but now I know what might have happened if I did.
34  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: Building Your Own Apartments: Late Night on: 2010 November 03, 02:32:42
Hm still no luck for me, plopped down the apartment mailbox, of course the older one vanished, moved my sim into the apartment once I'd finished making it, however no new neighbours have spawned yet. I am trying to work out where I am going wrong. I have a public marker set for each closed off area (this apartment is 3 floors high, there is a public marker outside each main hallway). There is a hidden room marker in each of the places I don't want to be seen. I have a callbox, a chute and of course the specific mailbox, but I can't seem to get any neighbours!

Have you marked the doors going to the hidden rooms as "Usable by NPC"?
35  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: Editing "hidden" rooms in Late Night. on: 2010 October 29, 17:22:41
I believe the actual cheat is "restrictbuildbuyinbuildings true/false" not "on/off."

Game is now crashing to desktop in live mode without a message or anything after a few seconds now. Any possible cause? Nothing except been in life mode seems to trigger it. CAS? Fine. Buy/Build? Fine. Townview? Fine. Live Mode? Crash. WTF?

It may be you need to make an exception for The Sims Late Night on the Data Execution Prevention list (DEP) if you haven't already.
This was actually discussed in an Ambitions thread somewhere, though I understand there are lots of CTD threads, so I thought mentioning it once more wouldn't hurt.

For Vista, this is how you add an exception:
http://club.myce.com/f116/adding-dvdfab-dep-exception-list-vista-220277/

This helped with my live-mode problems for the past two EP's. You'll have to make an exception for every SimsEP## application that you install in order to prevent the CTD in live mode (from my experience.) If that does not help, I'm not sure what else will.

Perhaps someone should add this in a "What you'll probably need to do when you install new EP's and SP's" thread or something.
37  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: New Patch 1.17/2.12/3.8/4.5/5.2 on: 2010 October 28, 20:07:10
I read elsewhere that a buggy fire station lot was causing Bridgeport to crash for some people.  I went into Edit Town, combed through the entire map and couldn't find an actual fire station lot, but I did find an odd, flat, gray lot set to "No Visitors Allowed."  I deleted it, replaced it with a fire station, and suddenly Bridgeport was working for me.

About that... I actually did find my fire station on "4th Ave" near the Stadium, however I did find a random grey lot also marked as "No Visitors Allowed" and when I deleted that, there was no lot there; meaning it was completely empty whatever it was. This also fixed my Bridgeport game. I'm not sure if you just didn't see the fire station, or your fire station actually was corrupt, but for reference I just had a random grey lot that generated on a corner street which was preventing me from beginning a game in Bridgeport. Why EA would program such behavior is well beyond me.
38  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Where to find GOOD custom worlds? on: 2010 September 18, 03:09:22
Don't encourage n00bs to install something they probably won't understand. And why don't you listen to your avatar and STFU? You realize those crossed-out lips are Pescado's way of punishing you for not lurking. Read the FAQ.
39  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Do you have to uninstall and reinstall you whole game if it explodes? on: 2010 September 04, 19:45:58
Why don't you try starting a new 'hood and deleting the corrupt one first, and then uninstalling if all else fails?

The scientific method isn't that hard to do yourself, people. You can still do things without getting validation from 2-D characters in meatspace every step of the way.
40  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: The new Sims 3 non-borked Create-A-World tool DIRECT LINK on: 2010 July 12, 18:29:28
Ah, you were right; it was the draw distance from options.
I had changed it playing various other games while waiting for the update and forgot to change it back. Sorry about that, and thank you for responding to my idiocy.
41  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: The new Sim 3 non-borked Create-A-World tool DIRECT LINK on: 2010 July 12, 04:58:14
Has anyone tried Edit-In-Game for the newly updated Create-A-Crap?
When zoomed out, I'm getting this strange sky object (?)- fog thingy (?) that's obstructing view of anything in the world. As you can tell I have no idea what it is, but it happens to new worlds even with nothing in it.

I haven't tried installing any of these worlds yet, partially because this thing is freaking me out a bit, but here are some images of what I'm experiencing:

Zoomed in, everything seems fine:

Zoom out a bit, something begins to get in the way:

WTF?

These particular shots are of a world I was working on, but this happens (like I said) even with new worlds with absolutely no terrain objects, spawners, terrain paints, nada. If it's just me, I'll shut up. But I'm primarily just curious if it really is just me. I've had no other real errors except this, and tried searching for a solution but considering the update is so new there wasn't much to find.

Sorry if this is in the wrong place, it just seems relevant although not a particular "pudding."
42  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Sims body stretched? on: 2010 June 04, 20:16:03
How is this Awesomemod related again?

And... I suspect tight pants. Kewian-based substitutes should be shot. With fire.
Edit: Ninja'd by Alex, but my suspicion is still valid.
43  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: CAW Issues with Ambitions on: 2010 June 04, 02:49:49
Has anyone without Ambitions patched their game and had an error loading CAW?

Yup. But that was previous patch - not the latest. It showed me there was a patch to CAW but it kept crashing, so I didn't update it.

No, I updated CAW with the previous patch and had no troubles with either CAW or the game (which was also patched.) It might be they'll release a CAW patch, but like wizard_merlin said, depends on what EA wants to fix first. Totally forgot about the Create a Pattern tool, but doesn't that come out in late July? That would be a long time to wait for a fix for CAW between the patch(es?), but then again, it is a beta and they aren't making money off of it. Meh.
44  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: CAW Issues with Ambitions on: 2010 June 03, 03:19:53
Drat.

Well, I guess we wait until they patch CAW too. I have a feeling EA forgot about it because they're not exactly making money off of a beta. Half-expecting them to come out with the "final" which will be exactly like the Beta, except you have to pay 30+ bucks for it, and pay an extra 20 to get Sim Store points to buy CAW "exclusive tools." Or something crazy like that. Bah.
Was going to help test the new AwesomeMod, but I guess I should post-pone that also until I finish what I'm working on.

Excuse my cynicism.
45  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Ambitions Torrent on: 2010 June 03, 03:08:03
Fill free to poke me with sticks for asking, but I did search (though most of it was in circles; I'm not that extensive of a pirate cat, sorry...) but has anyone find any good torrents for the Ambitions Prima Guide? Preferably a direct link that doesn't make you sign up to get to it and hasn't been taken down because of "copyright..." blah blah blah?

I know Sims Prima Guides are next to worthless, but I don't get paid until halfway through the month and frankly, I'm curious what to expect. Besides CTD's and all of that.

I'll download the gameplay.package someone put up earlier, but coding doesn't include many "shiny" photographs of the game/new stuffs. Or, you can just call me a brat for asking for too much and be patient. It's whatever.
46  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: CAW Issues with Ambitions on: 2010 June 03, 02:37:38
Has anyone without Ambitions patched their game and had an error loading CAW?

I'm just curious how editing the neighborhood in-game would be like with the new features (both using the CAW edit-in-game and actually in-game), but if the standalone patch borks CAW then I guess there's little point in doing so until they patch CAW as well. Though EA might have forgotten they released a Beta CAW after WA, I don't know.
47  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: no woohoo on: 2010 April 07, 16:13:40
no i just want it removed for my kid to play without asking questions! is there a way to remove a specific option from conversation?

What scares me the most is that this is a PARENT who doesn't know how to capitalize. I hope your child learns grammar more efficiently than you have... and doesn't spend time on forums asking questions on a rated "T" game. Are you going to ask bars to get rid of alcohol in martinis because you drink them and want your kid to drink them too?

I was a 12 when The Sims Livin' Large came out, and it didn't "scar" me as much to see them "playing" in the vibrating bed. In fact, I learned about sex prior to that in a school encyclopedia, and I never told or asked my parents about it. I'm not out spreading my legs or posting pictures of my breasts to people I don't know on the internet, nor am I preoccupied with the notion of "sex" or "woohoo" (if that's what you were afraid of.)

It's all about a level of maturity. If your kid still laughs hysterically at the word "poop" then they're not mature enough. Otherwise, stop being ridiculous and try not to overprotect it TOO much and stop avoiding "the talk". Or else you'll have spoiled, immature brats who think the world shits rainbows and that the world should hand everything to them, but only them, because only they deserve it even though they've done nothing; much like in the way Austere thinks.
48  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Can I move a family to another neighborhood? on: 2010 March 22, 01:21:19
For what it's worth, there's Twallan's "Porter" which apparently packs families to be ready for unpacking in other neighborhoods: http://ts3.tscexchange.com/index.php?topic=1692.0

I've tried this with the Goth family, though it only packed the Crumplebottom deceased (I also packed Agnes, alive, as well). I put in the gravestones of the Goth ancestors into Gunther's inventory and Erik Darling into Agnes'. I moved them into a cleaned-up version of Sunset Valley, and it seemed to show everyone in the family tree link perfectly (same with the Bachelors).

However, I can't say if it will work moving them into a custom or Riverview 'hood. Last I tried adding gravestones into a Sims inventory WITHOUT using the Porter, the "links" were there but the pictures of the deceased relatives did not appear and their gravestones would produce an error if using debug mode to spawn a ghost (e.g. never produced ghosts at all.)

I would assume if you allowed there to be more than 8 members in a household and tried using the Porter to include all relatives it may work. I've never configured my AwesomeMod that way, but once I'm finished tinkering with CAW I might go back in-game and get back to you on that (or one of you can test it before then.)

And so... there it is. Yeah.
49  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Installation help on: 2010 March 20, 01:16:10
Two things:

a) You have NOT tried "every possible Instructions" e.g. SEARCH MOAR (or, I don't know, read locked threads?)

and...

b) Your run-on question with horrible grammar is quite a breath-load, isn't it?
50  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Working stoves on community lots? on: 2010 February 06, 01:35:49
Yes, but the France basecamp and China basecamp are odd because they DO have operable stoves (regardless you cannot buy one) and also can have fires. I'm not able to play right now, but I'm supposing those basecamps are actually "residential" lots then labeled as "basecamp." Or something like that.

I also second having community lot fires enabled.
