51  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: My god they fixed the nannies they fixed them!!! on: 2008 September 20, 16:29:56
While it's good to know that the nannies work correctly (psh it took them 8 EPs?) are you saying that you can make a townie in Bodyshop or CAS and use simsurgery on the NPCs now? If so, that's good to hear, because that's what I've wanted to do since a year ago. Although, I borked my test neighborhood by aging down the Gypsy; she wouldn't do anything but arrive. If nannies and other NPC's can be aged down that will be good to hear. I also remember aging up one of the newspaper delivery sims to a YA, she still delivers the paper and magazines, but she doesn't have the hat/carrier outfit. If I get better at clothing meshing, I'll be sure to age-convert the delivery outfits, or maybe somebody more awesome will do it.
52  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What is this hack? on: 2008 September 16, 07:28:26
Next time, it would possibly be a good idea to use the Sims2Pak Clean installer, when you install lots/etc with this, it will identify hacks. The hacks will be highlighted in red. Otherwise, you wouldn't know what harm you're causing your game.

I believe that the shopping cart is activated if your sims purchase items at an owned community lot, because you get an "add to shopping bag" when you purchase an item, even though the icon in the rewards panel is a shopping cart. I will have to try as I never seem to check; however, when I go to a non owned grocery store the shopping cart is greyed out. So I am still leaning on my hypothesis.
54  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Shiftable signs, paintings and photos (AL) on: 2008 September 16, 00:36:58
You could try to hang it and force error. (With boolprop testingcheatsenabled set to true; shiftclick plaque and force error. In the dialog that comes up, choose reset.) Then see if you can move it.

Heh, did not think of that. I sometimes forget I have the power to boolprop. *chuckles*
55  TS2: Burnination / Taster's Choice / Re: no alignment change on casting a neutral spell + no reagents (documented) (EP8) on: 2008 September 16, 00:35:14
Oh yes! I don't understand, if something is neutral, then how does it effect how good or bad your which becomes? It's neutral of all things! XD

Thanks for sharing. If I do get around to which-craft in the game, I'll be sure to remember I have this hack.
56  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Shiftable signs, paintings and photos (AL) on: 2008 September 15, 03:37:46
Another batch of shiftables:

<snip>

...
I also found that the Maxed enthusiasm plaque can't be shifted either.  Undecided
...

Are you sure? They move in my game without any hacks.

Thank you for all those upcoming objects!

Mhrmm, well actually, it appears that any plaque you get, at least in my game, before AL was installed that the enthusiasm plaques can't be shifted. However any enthusiasm plaque you get after AL is installed is shiftable. *Shrugs* The same also happens if there are any wall hangings that are left in the inventory. Have no idea at all really, why that would be a problem.
57  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Testers wanted: WTF Snow shouldn't be on that! on: 2008 September 15, 02:49:15
@fway
All windows and doors get snow on top of them, it doesn't matter which side is on the inside because the snow system is stupid and puts it on top of the whole mesh. I might just disable it for doors/windows too if anyone seconds it. I haven't looked at magazines and photo albums but they're probably snow disabled so you can see them when Sims pick them up to look at them.

That is even better to tell you the truth. baaa!
58  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Apartment Life Borkiness, or how i ended the world in 1 hour. on: 2008 September 14, 09:34:17
This will probably bug only me, but the poor kids get the "Walk to School" option when it's a snow day. I'd hate to be that kid to tell you the truth, walking to school only to find it closed. Lulz.

I will have a follow up and tell you all what happened after I sent him to school. He currently needs to get his grades up anyhow, with a C+ he probably won't like having that for long.

That part of the floor next to that side of the bed had something invisible there that I couldn't remove no matter what, not even with the sledgehammer.

In the end, I moved my Sim out.  Word to the wise:  if you befriend the landlord, and he/she asks, "Now that I'm done with work, would you like to hang out?" say NO.  Somehow it made her go into literally three different needs failures, sitting in my Sim's apartment and crying until she passed out in the worst place possible....

You could have tried using the BatBox to see if there was something down there.
59  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Testers wanted: WTF Snow shouldn't be on that! on: 2008 September 14, 08:02:29
baaa x10

Is it possible to make a fix for the windows and doors, it looks seriously stupid when there's snow on the windows from the inside. The ones I am particularly talking about are the ones from seasons itself.

I also noticed that the magazines don't get any snow on them, nor do the photo albums if placed outside. Which makes me wonder if the magazines etc have heat paks on them to keep the snow off.

At any rate, thank you for fixing this, it makes me go crazy sometimes to see objects that shouldn't have snow on them, have snow on them.
60  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Shiftable signs, paintings and photos (AL) on: 2008 September 14, 04:25:59
ugg, just when you thought this was over Goggalor there's more to it...

It appears that EAxis had the nerve to not make the fish shiftable, which is unfortunate, because why waste all that wall space for only 1 fish? I also found that the Maxed enthusiasm plaque can't be shifted either.  Undecided

I absolutely love the hack though. Thank you!

ETA: Just found out that the plates from FreeTime can't be shifted either... EAxis has done such a shotty job, as always.
61  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Apartment Life Borkiness, or how i ended the world in 1 hour. on: 2008 September 12, 10:47:23

I've updated my hacks.  The first time I had the problem was immediatly after installing Squinge's latest version of Pregnant Sims Wear Any Outfit EP8 http://www.insimenator.net/showthread.php?t=91730&highlight=squinge.

Are you confirming that Squinge's hack is doing this? I have also installed this hack. :/
62  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Apartment Life Borkiness, or how i ended the world in 1 hour. on: 2008 September 12, 06:15:05
Well, the error has to do with a Lot Controller, as I too am having a similar problem to Perez's.

I have attached an error log to show what the problem is. I have all of my hacks updated, I have to admit I am using tight pants, but it's too damn tempting to not have them in my game. It shouldn't be my "walk to lot" fix, because all it does is change the text of a text resource.

The sim that dies should just become an urn inside their current apartment.

Better yet, the spouse/heir's inventory, the inventory has been in every EP since nightlife. Angry Stupid EAxis, moving the graves to random places.

Oh yes, the hotel borks. Well, I have a different situation. My sims were already checked into another hotel, but I had built a hotel/restaurant for families to visit in Twikkii Island. Now, my family goes to visit the hotel for the first time all these townies show up, however the hotel clerk doesn't even show up, but I click the "check in" option just for kicks, and whaddya know, an invisible clerk. I get the message about needing to check out from my sims' previous hotel, but there's no picture icon next to the text. Also, locals were using the hotel rooms as if they were regular rooms. Funny thing is, it was set to hotel, so I decided to set it to hotel again. Next day, I go back to the hotel to grab a bite to eat, and no townies were there at all. None. The chef/waiter/podium person/hotel clerk all show up though. I had a nice stage with open mic too.  Undecided

While I am here, I have been randomly stuck at the loading screen when I want my sims to go to community lots. I make it all the way to the last bar, the bars clear like normal, and poof, just the hour glass spinning around. Now, Fraps I believe is reporting that my FPS rate (I think that's what it is) goes from 2 to 60 as it's loading and once it's done loading and doing the hour glass thing, it stays at a steady 57.
64  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Missing Neighbourhoods in AL on: 2008 September 08, 23:40:53
did you by any chance have HP's megahood in your game?

Yes, I know the Uber-Megahood for Apartment Life disappeared. It has issues with anyone in Belladonna Cove living in an apartment disappearing - if you downloaded it, please delete it. I will be putting up a fixed version ASAP. Sorry for the inconvenience.
65  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Apartment Life Borkiness, or how i ended the world in 1 hour. on: 2008 September 07, 23:20:59
Not really a bug per-se, but I have built an apartment in one of my universities, and it appears that regular ol' adult townies can live within the apartments going unaffected. I know this, because when she came out, she was playing basketball in the backyard and the voice did not sound like the YA/teen voices at all. I was really hoping for the neighbors to be YA's, but I suppose the neighbors are pre-determined once you've finished building your apartment.

Anywho, I shall make her selectable the next time I load up my game, and see if she either has a "job" or a major.
66  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How do you organize your CC? on: 2008 September 06, 18:51:57
I usually organize by subfoldering everything by site, then by user if it's a site like MTS2. I found out that my game loads faster if I do not have anything within the downloads folder itself. I subfolder by site, with the exception of hacks, I have those in one subfolder, and then by site with the name "zzzHacks" as well as a subfolder for default replacements, but since they don't show up as CC I only subfolder those by type (e.g. eyes, skintones, pregnant, etc.).

Very organized. It's even more helpful when I use this
67  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Apartment Life Borkiness, or how i ended the world in 1 hour. on: 2008 September 04, 04:03:47
Bah! Has anyone had a glitch where a sim would roll the same want (play with) over and over, especially while playing with water balloons? Ugh. I mean the kid I was playing racked up about 14050 points just from playing water balloon fight!
68  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Apartment Life Borkiness, or how i ended the world in 1 hour. on: 2008 September 03, 12:04:50
Pah, I found out that objects in the common area like restaurant podiums (lot zoning cheat), microphones, and gym equipment (except the ballet bar for some reason) are all non-autonomous. Ugh, I went through all of that just to have nobody use it! I also wish that the NPCs could be activated for cash registers and expresso bars on apartment lots. I wanted a downstairs convenience store damnit!

Just to let you all know though the restaurant podium sim works, however you'll have to 'reset' the industrial stove that came with NL/OFB in order for the chef to appear.
69  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Apartment Life Borkiness, or how i ended the world in 1 hour. on: 2008 September 02, 02:38:26
Ugh, I don't want to call this a bug, but whenever my sim is perfroming comedy or poetry, they get cheered on as if they were singing. I would've loved for the comedy if they laughed, I wouldn't get tired of that though (the way they laugh is hilarious). Erm, maybe for poetry EAxis should have done the finger snaps. Although I don't understand the jokes, I find them funny. Is that a little wierd? By the way, when they're singing with the new microphone isn't there supposed to be music coming out of those speakers?

Edit: Seems as if the "Cuddle under stars" action is a load of dookie.
Click. Why must the interaction ever be so stoic? It doesn't even look like they're talking...
70  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: AL gameplay questions and help on: 2008 September 02, 01:31:09
Ah, i also, huh 'found' a UK version.  But i used the GameHelpFaq at MTS2 to change it to US English.
http://www.modthesims2.com/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Change_Game_Language

Baa! I never knew we could change the game version, lulz. This is why I came here. Well you know, this site has always been awesome, to the extreme of course.
71  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: AL gameplay questions and help on: 2008 September 02, 00:44:04
Well I forgot to post a picture of where, when I click on my neighbor's door, there's no option to knock on, "have x come out" or "introduce to neighbors"
That's not a by-product of just that hack then, for those options show up correctly for me.  Sounds like another hack conflict.  I also thought that pic was of YOUR door, not the neighbors, for there shouldn't be a lock/unlock option on a neighbor's door.

Well, I just got a reply from her saying that the pie strings are different for UK and US editions (although I am in the US and have the UK version *cough*) so that probably explains it.
72  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: AL gameplay questions and help on: 2008 September 02, 00:05:31
How is that borked exactly? It's doing exactly as advertised.

Well I forgot to post a picture of where, when I click on my neighbor's door, there's no option to knock on, "have x come out" or "introduce to neighbors"
73  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: AL gameplay questions and help on: 2008 September 01, 22:16:30
Soo, about Carrigon's hack, I'd take it out for now as her hack BORKED the options on the door:

74  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: PSA: Abandonated Mods Borked by AL on: 2008 September 01, 20:55:25
Ok, I went to Simbology to get some updated mods, and to check out TJ's dead mods (don't ask why). Now, he too has a Neukem wall speaker fix. I believe his fixes the wall speaker itself, while Menaceman's simply fixes the description; however, the speaker functions correctly with the right music playing. So, it is the speaker fix by Menaceman44.

I felt like I needed to confirm that.

YAY!

By the way I reinstalled the CEP and the recolors are showing up.
