OMG shouldn't the ducts and stuff be buildmode and therefore stay?

Hehe, nope, seems silly EAxis made them only decorative and the disappear when a sim moves into an "unfurnished" apartment.  I wish I knew more about hacking, because damn, I'd make those suckers stay!

Although I did find this yesterday:
http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk221/hekkahekkawhat/ScreenShot082.jpg

So now there are 2 types of objects when moving into an apartment

- The base objects: Stoves, Counters, Sinks, Tubs, etc.
- The non base objects: Everything else but the above... and ductwork and plumbing Angry

Yes actually, I have a pregnacy wear all clothing or something mod. I'll try removing. Its amazing all the little things AL is breaking, Freetime wasnt that bad that i remember.

Actually, you are supposed to have all of your unupdated hacks out before installing a new EP. So, you actually broke it, because my closets are working fine.

mhrm... Now I know that the cheap island is missing. I think this was a pre-AL bug though. When I had FT, I thought it was something that I had downloaded which caused the conflict. So it's actually a bug, because I was noticing the cheap island was gone when I did a fresh install. *sigh*

Recolors for the photobooth and card table are broken. I know this because I downloaded several. Although I am not sure about the restaurant podium, seeing that I haven't built a community lot yet, nor download any recolors of the podium (since I have found 2 borked objects.)

Installing EPs could break the CEP. Reinstall it and the recolors should be fine. In my Game recolors for the photobooth and card table are there and work.

I will retry and see how it goes.

Oh, I see it now. I do have controlpets set to true on my startup. Nevermind, move along, nothing to see here.... Tongue

Control pets is fine, but if you use pets free will off, then you'd HAVE to control your roomie.

I wish they just made a different cheat like "controlRoomies on"
82  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: AL gameplay questions and help on: 2008 August 31, 03:57:03
Or is there something else that would keep objects like the tubs, counters, etc. when a sim moves out or moves in? I would absolutely love to know this because I want to enable the ductwork/plumbing/medicine cabinets when a sim moves into an apartment.

Tubs and counters should stay automagically.

As for ductwork/plumbing, etc., someone said that you can use boolprop testingcheatsenabled true, shift-click the apartment door, and "Rent Furnished".  I don't know if it works or not; you'll have to test it yourself.

I realize that I could use boolprop, however, I don't want to use it all of the time to rent apartments and lose the duct work plumbing and all that good stuff. I just want to change the BHAVs for those objects and not have to worry about that stuff disappearing.

Speaking of renting a furnished apartment Carrigon has enabled the Rent Furnished Apartment option along with a couple of more options.

oii How many borks have we found? I bet BBSers bork their game less than this! It's so ridiculous to think that they can't get things straight.

Recolors for the photobooth and card table are broken. I know this because I downloaded several. Although I am not sure about the restaurant podium, seeing that I haven't built a community lot yet, nor download any recolors of the podium (since I have found 2 borked objects.)

Roommates are supposed to be uncontrollable, right? This roommate was, until his needs started going red as a result of spending his day off on the synthesizer. Suddenly, he became controllable. I was able to direct him to pee, eat and sleep before he croaked.

I wonder if roommates become controllable when it becomes clear they can't take care of themselves? Or, Just Another EA Feature?

Roomates aren't supposed to be controllable. (if you're using/talking about pet control and pet free will cheat, turn off the free will one at least). When i got BV (similar expansion pack and all) and my family went on vacation with a couple of guests they became controllable. I don't think it was a glitch. I probably left a hack I didn't know about in the folder, which would have been 12ish of me.

This question is mainly for Inge, however if anybody else is willing to answer I would more than appreciate it.

I was reading the "new fields" thread by Inge, I was wondering if "Ignore Apt Restriction Grab" referred to objects like the sinks/counters/etc; What does it actually mean is what i am asking. I know it ignores something within the apartment. *shrug*

Or is there something else that would keep objects like the tubs, counters, etc. when a sim moves out or moves in? I would absolutely love to know this because I want to enable the ductwork/plumbing/medicine cabinets when a sim moves into an apartment.

ETA: I felt that making a new thread would be dumb, so I decided to ask here.

I'm confused, did that stove come with AL? How exactly did you get it and expect it to work correctly besides on a community lot or college lot if not? Did they accidentally allow it on apartment lots? Or has it always been enabled but is now spawning a cafeteria worker on apartment lots?

The lot, is just a regular old apartment in downtown pleasantview.  The stove is the one that came with University (it's the 'industrial' one)... I had a funny feeling that this stove would be borked in apartments for the sole fact that EAxis never seem to catch these bugs. We know EAxis, they NEVER fail.  Roll Eyes
86  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: PSA: Abandonated Mods Borked by AL on: 2008 August 30, 05:43:06
I believe BV build/buy enabler was by Carrigon @ The Sims 2 Workshop. *shrugs*

Nukem Wall Speaker Fix.package - by Menaceman44 @ MTS2, you could ask him about it though.
ObjectsPetstoFT.package - by Me ... you DO NOT WANT, take it out even if you don't have AL! Lord Darcy said there were certain problems with the Community to Residential items I had made available in the residential catalog. However if somebody wants to make a more awesome version, go right ahead. I failed and deleted the downloads off the face of the earth! (it was because I had changed the guid's on the OBJD's and such. Unfortunately, that was a stupid mistake by me. I'm betting there is a simpler way of not borking the game, correct? Macro me please. I'm still a 12 until Thursday.

edit: I hate my shift key.
87  Darcyland / Lord Darcy Investigates / Re: More Decorative Slots for Maxis Furniture (Updated 2008/08/28) AL version added on: 2008 August 30, 04:58:38
AL closets appear fine for me with my deco slot mod. How many new closets does AL have, anyway? There are two which are shaped like shopping racks, and another two wall closets with doors.

In addition to multiple custom objects which share the same GUID, SimPE GUID Scan also scans hacks which contain OBJD overrides, like my Armoire/Dresser slot mod or Pescado's NoHumble mod. It does not necessarily mean they're causing a conflict with other Maxis objects.

AL does have 2 closets as well as those two shopping rack shaped ones. I only asked this because I downloaded some maxis-matching dressers, which also may be the problem. Just to let you know, though, I downloaded Ailias' maxis-matching dressers. I was going to download the HCDU by simwardrobe, however I keep getting a 403 message. Although, I wouldn't think that awesome mods would clash with each other anyhow. *shrugs* The thing is though, the custom dressers I downloaded didn't have any GUID conflicts. I wouldn't know what else would be clashing with the closets.

oh aren't I just smart... ok, so I suppose the closets act as doors, which is technically build mode, therefore can't use the clone tool and can't be bought. xD Sorry I wasted your time :\

Damn Freetime Glitch is back.
Yep yet another glitch...lol
Ok my family sim got engaged too Benjamin Longnose and she had a bad memory of it,you know in the red. Then she got married too him and she caught herself cheating on him with herself.Ok seriously that last part was funny. But this glitch needs too be fixed bad. Also i'm getting the BFF thing and I don't have Freetime installed anymore, took it out for various reasons.
Maybe that was carried over from Freetime who know's.
I like this EP even though it's not my playing style.
ETA:I am pretty sure the spawning bug is back again from BV.New hood 2 hrs ago I made and I had 296 sims when all was said and done.I made that family sim and it made 297.After playing for another 2hrs I exited the game and I had 415 files in it.Wanna explain this one too me?
EA will never learn.

Fuck. I better go check my files, and hope that a critical fix comes. God damn EAxis is dumb. Can't they fix their game instead of breaking it all of the damn time?! I really wonder what their QA (if they have any) does when they first come in. Thank goodness I'm not getting TS3, I'd hate to see how many bugs will be in that game.
89  Darcyland / Lord Darcy Investigates / Re: More Decorative Slots for Maxis Furniture (Updated 2008/08/28) AL version added on: 2008 August 30, 04:21:28
Lord Darcy, I have found a guid conflict going on in the game, it appears that the closets that came with AL are gone from my buy mode catalog. So I loaded up SimPE to do a GUID scan, and two of your deco slot packages are coming up. I am using only awesome hacks at the moment as well as my walk to lot fix (most likely unrelated), which only changes the text. No idea what's causing it, I just wanted to bring it to your attention.

Also, is it possible that your mod can conflict with custom dressers as well?

by the way... beeeeeeeh

Has she grown up to be a teenager yet Zazazu? I just meant to ask if they would get the witchyness by their teen years. Please don't mind me, I'm just too lazy to do it. XD

92  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Apartment Life Borkiness, or how i ended the world in 1 hour. on: 2008 August 29, 14:51:27
well, you never know zazazu... EAxis is always borrowing changing the engines from previous expansion packs and making them worse better.

Ok, I am getting messages for my playable neighbors when I am not even playing them!  Angry

93  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Apartment Life Borkiness, or how i ended the world in 1 hour. on: 2008 August 29, 12:33:32
it's too bad that modifyneighborhoodterrain can't be used when there's a lot that you want to fix.

You all may want to try this though and see what happens:

1. Move the lot somewhere
2. use the cheat modifyneighborhoodterrain on
3. Level the terrain by dragging your cursor across the borked land (I believe ] is the key to level it).
4. Move the lot back onto where you want it back

I haven't done it myself, but I was thinking about putting that cheat to use.
94  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: AL gameplay questions and help on: 2008 August 29, 10:02:12
Lol!  You won't be able to do that sort of thing in Sims3 - the kid will be home alone for 3 days then!

Yeah, they'll be much more than latch key kids XD

Witchiness is TurnonTraits3 Flag 4 (dec) (and same flag in traits and turnoffs)

Ohh, I just have a question about the witch trait. Does that mean that the witchiness gets passed down, and that there's a good chance of having a kid who'll turn out to be a witch in their teen years? I realize that children and toddlers cannot be witches.
95  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Apartment Life Borkiness, or how i ended the world in 1 hour. on: 2008 August 29, 09:56:53

Let's hear it for EAXis!

I had a feeling THIS was going to happen:
[snip]
Were you trying to use apartments on college lots or something?

Absolutely not. I just wanted to use that stove because it had an industrial feel to it.  Undecided Alas, I realized that since they just "borrow" from every other expansion pack, that this wouldn't work at all.
96  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Apartment Door Glitch on: 2008 August 29, 09:21:33
Do you have any hacks? If so, remove them. Then see if you can be able to rent apartments. I remember when I forgot to take out Inge's four key doors when BV came out, big mistake.
97  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Apartment Life Borkiness, or how i ended the world in 1 hour. on: 2008 August 29, 08:22:03
Has anyone else noticed their sim's portrait changing EVERY time they change clothes? I mean everytime they take a bath or change to pj's the portrait changes.  Before AL it only changed when I used the mirror!

Oh yeah, I've noticed that... it's very silly. I don't mind when it rotates, but I suppose it could get annoying for others. Hey, who knows, pretty soon I could be annoyed with it. *shruggles

98  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Apartment Life Borkiness, or how i ended the world in 1 hour. on: 2008 August 29, 07:16:08
all right, I'm back for another round... was there ever a 12 hour clock bug, where the time keeps reverting back to the 24 hour clock. I prefer the 12 hour clock system, however in my game it keeps reverting back on to the 24 hour one whenever i replay my game.
99  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: AL gameplay questions and help on: 2008 August 29, 07:12:30
Mhrm, well I suppose since it's logical to build a relationship to know who's really watching your kids.. Yeah, come to think of it, I probably wouldn't want someone watching my sim kids if I didn't know them well. Anywho, I was just asking that question because my couple just got married, and they already had a kid and I booked a honeymoon for them. Well the time that the van came the kid was already at school. So, the kid probably won't know that his parent's are off at Twikki Island. XD

Since the topic at hand IS AL gameplay and questions and help, I was just wondering... how in the world do you get the neighbor to babysit?
