1  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: #grah down? on: 2017 August 06, 05:39:16
Is anyone able to get in the channel, or is it down completely?
2  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: #grah down? on: 2017 August 05, 05:40:22
Grah is still barfing. It was for Jesslla too, last night.

Okay, thank you witch.
3  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / #grah down? on: 2017 August 05, 03:25:16
Did #grah barf, or is it something local to Ambularstan?

Did you know that "sheeple" was recently canonized by Merriam-Webster? The last post just made me think of that, but I can't quite put my finger on why.

FAEK ETA: Poofs, if you move the post above mine to make it look like I double posted, so help me, I'll take this all the way to the Cheese forum!

The cheese forum has developed a funny smell. Probably due to lack of cheese nazi minding the stock.

Hey, you want fresh cheese, I need more whines.
5  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: A curiosity about some files on: 2017 January 25, 20:16:39
Well, with games installed from DVD, starting some expansions back (I don't remember which one, exactly, but it was fairly early on) the game always ran from TS3W.exe in the base game folder.  So any individual EP exe's were no longer used, even though they were still present (I'm not sure why they continued to be included with expansions that were released after that point.  Anyone?)  I would assume this would be no different for games installed by way of Steam.

Origin is about as popular around here as a surprise colonoscopy, and I don't think Pes ever did get his hands on a copy of patch 1.69.  My guess would be that the Origin version has a different setup because that final patch, which is only available via Origin, allows for the selective disabling of individual expansions.  So it probably mucks around with various other game files as part of that arrangement.
6  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: Has TSR changed its coding? on: 2017 January 25, 20:01:23
I think the only thing I remember having to decrapify is EA store files.  TSR stuff got run through some process of Pes's before it got put in the Booty, IIRC, but I don't think it was the decrapifier, was it?  I could be wrong, it's been a while.
7  TS4: The Pee-ening / Insert Amusing Name Here / Re: Sims4 is not gonna happen on here, is it? on: 2016 July 25, 03:51:23
I don't have the patience to even start!  I was just about gathering up enthusiasm for it a couple months back and then I saw what was happening with the monthly patches and so many mods broken every time I thought sod it.

I've been thinking right along that I've about had enough of the old the-patch-broke-everything-again routine, and I may eventually get the game AFTER all the expansions and patches and mod updates are released.

I'm a page too late for the reunion, but I'm getting back into sims now that I have a life again.  Seems like I missed a lot.

The Sims, or having a life?
9  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesome Mod Incombatibility Message on: 2016 March 18, 18:23:24
As I have never seen a 1.69 patch anywhere, and nobody has volunteered to send the files I asked for, I have no means of acquiring this data. You are on your own.

BTW, if you ever do get those files and update Awesome for 1.69, I respectfully request that you retain 1.67 compatibility if at all possible.  I know that's never been AM policy, but I'd rather piss off your Wife vote for Trump amputate a limb run with an outdated mod than profane my PC with Origin.
10  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomemod Request Thread on: 2015 November 16, 06:13:42
Origin has released an update for The Sims 3, which I have stupidly allowed on to my puter. Is there any hope of an awesome update for the borkedness or am I screwed because Origin?

What the actual fuck.  Why the hell are they releasing an update at this late date, and what makes them think anybody's going to want to register and sign up for Origin just so they can have the privilege of crippling their game to varying degrees?  Does this thing actually FIX anything?

I'll test mine Ambular, if they don't do that I could share mine. I suspect they will, however. Never played with them so far.

Much appreciated, Witch, however it turns out.

I can't really be that much help, haven't had Sims on my PC in some time now. I only have this to ask/point out. I guess you're using a pirated copy of these? Seeing as if the legit one didn't work we'd hear about it. Assuming they're pirated, and the decrapped set installed via the launcher and packages doesn't work, have you tried installing via un-decrapped packages? That's my only suggestion.

I'll give it a shot.  Thanks for the response, KT!

Sorry Mr. Necromancer...

I don't know whether there's a hope in Hell of anyone looking at this at this late date, and I don't have an untouched copy of the files to link (they were already decrapped when I downloaded them) so I'm hoping someone else does.

The Sky High Roller Coaster track parts seem to be borked.  The thumbnails display in the game catalog, but any piece that's over one story high can't be selected and placed.  Either I click the icon and get nothing, or I get one of the other, lower-level roller coaster parts.  This occurs both when adding them as packages to my Mods folder and when the objects are installed via the launcher.

I think if I ever do TS4, it will probably be after the last expansion and patch have been released, the full feature set is in place and I can make the rounds of the modding sites and pick up whatever goodies and bugfixes I want, ONCE.  I only just recently worked up the wherewithal to add the last couple of TS3 expansions, weed out everything that broke and update it all to final version.  Patches are a giant PITA I really don't need to deal with another dozen times or more (and god knows I'm not about to play an out-of-the-box vanilla Sims game.)
17  TS4: The Pee-ening / Insert Amusing Name Here / Re: DVD base game, digital expansions? on: 2015 April 04, 17:26:25
Hello,
I have the DVD Premium edition of SIMS4,  and have received all patches, updates, packs and expansions digitally.   I bought the DVD version through Amazon even,  but upon registration at Origin  the game appeared in "My Games".   I can begin it from there every time and all new content appears in my game.   Hope this answers the question.   And the original DVD does not have to be in the drive.

Thanks, I think that's what she needs to know!
18  TS4: The Pee-ening / Insert Amusing Name Here / DVD base game, digital expansions? on: 2015 April 04, 15:45:30
I got a question from an acquaintance who is braver than I am, about whether it's possible to install digital Sims 4 expansions with a DVD copy of the base game or if she needs the digital base game as well.  Apparently this was an issue she ran into with The Sims 3.  Anybody know if she can do this, or is she screwed without the digital base game?
19  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: KT's Store Fixes (updated 08.13.2013) on: 2013 September 18, 02:58:38
Because of reasons, to my annoyance, I'm currently forced to limp along at patch level 1.50.  I'm wondering will the current versions of any of these fixes work/break anything if used with that patch (and only store content that doesn't require a later patch, obviously)?
20  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Updater (v2.8.2 - Updated 2013-06-28) on: 2013 September 12, 19:48:22
The updater has been breaking 3booter.exe for me for a while now.  It'll install the file but when I try to run it, I'm told '3booter.exe is not a valid win32 application' and I have to manually replace the file.

No matter which way you slice it, you overpay for everything EA puts out for TS3.

If you're dumb enough to pay for it.

Now now, lets not get too hasty to judge. If no one bought their games/products there'd be no one to share/pirate them.

Yeah, they need to get a few copies out there for the hackers to work with, and at least make enough to pay the people who make the game.  Of course they probably do that the first day it's released.
23  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod Updater (v2.8.2 - Updated 2013-06-28) on: 2013 June 29, 15:51:47
Hello! This is probably a dumb question. Fair warning.

I want to edit the shortcut properties so that it points to updater.bat, but I'm not exactly sure what to put in the box so that it works properly. I tried plugging "C:\Users\User\Desktop\updater.bat" into the target field but I have a strong hunch that's not where I'm supposed to put it. I also tried to google it but all the results that came up were explaining other shit to do with shortcuts. Plus, I'm not sure what term is appropriate to search for the result I want.

I swear I'm not a noob! Its just been awhile!

Just put updater.bat into whatever folder you're going to be keeping it in, copy its location from the Windows Explorer bar and put it in quotes in the Target field.  So if updater.bat is forever going to reside on your desktop, the location you've got is correct.  The "Start In" field should show the folder location (so "C:\Users\User\Desktop" in this case.)

If you're sticking updater.bat in a different folder--say, C:\Program Files (x86)\AwesomeMod Updater for example--you'd put "C:\Program Files (x86)\AwesomeMod Updater\updater.bat" in the Target field and "C:\Program Files\AwesomeMod Updater" in the Start In field.

25  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: KT's Store Fixes (updated 06.25.2013) on: 2013 June 25, 17:59:11
Updated everything. Moved around and changed some things so pay attention. I removed the unAwesome mod and replaced it with the KT_XML mod. Now that is the only piece that needs updating come new patch time. The working pet register was moved to decrap fixes since that's technically what it is. Game isn't reliably loading so I don't have the patience to fix the teen workout outfit right now; since I couldn't find the problem in the package itself I'll have to add bits that I think is causing it one at a time and load the game.

Just to clarify, as it's no longer specified in the first post: is KT_XMLs still only needed if you *don't* use AwesomeMod?
