Anyone managed to unlock some of the bonus crap like the animal hats or that computer that you get for buying the Prima Guide? As far as I can tell they're built into the game but hidden until you unlock them so I don't think you have to download anything. At least the Prima computer is definitely a code. Or maybe the Skid Row version already has that crap. I don't know because I bought it. I had Discover and Bing reward points on Amazon so that's my excuse.

The constant amount of people just walking around on the street way out in the burbs seems a bit high. But then again I guess that's what happens when they can't own cars. Seriously though, it really should be fine tuned for zones with more people in the parks and commercial areas and less in the residential. Ideally, I think the game should encourage going to other lots for sims with social wants and job requirements but you don't have to at all. The sidewalk is like a conveyor belt sushi bar of Sims constantly streaming by.

3GB? There must be a lot of redundancy there. I bought it on Steam (yeah yeah, I know, I'm a sucker) and it only downloaded some ridiculously paltry amount like 30 MB or something.
Granted, Steam regularly updates the version of the game and already patched it to 1.48.4 the other day before the pack came along and they may have snuck some hidden content in some of the patches, but still 3GB seems really excessive.

Funny I was thinking exactly the same thing that they couldn't afford Gaga so had to make due with KP.
Frosted cherry bras aside, some of this stuff could maybe work in some very specific circumstances like doing a Candyland theme, kids room or some of the brightly colored plants might even work for Lunar Lakes but it's definitely not anywhere near general use stuff and not worth $20 let alone the extra $10 that is obviously going to Katy Perry. Can't they just release the same shit at $20 and call it the Candyland Stuff Pack?
They must really think TS3 is nearing the end of its life cycle if they feel they need to do endorsements for every release now.
Of course knowing EA I am sure they are already producing TS4 which will require the Origin client and have even more social media bullshit baked in.

Ever since MTS released a mod to unlock all the Simport objects, I've completely lost what little interest I had in that part of the game. Fuck you, EA, no pseudo-multiplayer bullshit for me.
Yeah, the primary reason I was trying to do it at first was for the unlocks, which would have taken an obnoxiously long amount of time to get since you have to have each of the three Showtime profession types go on a bunch of different types of tours at different levels. The unlock mod pretty much removes the main reason to Simport. I suppose it could be mildly useful to get an adult sim out of your hair for a while, but even then there are some annoyances in the way it works. I have all of one simfriend who has Showtime and I sent one of my sims on tour to her town a couple of weeks ago. Well after a short while in sim time in my game (too short if you ask me) he returned. However I cannot simport any more sims, even in totally different neighborhoods, because that sim is still in the simport queue. Apparently, she never plays her game and until she does and the tour actually happens in sim time in her game my simport queue will remain full with this one sim and unable to send anyone else.

I admit to being utterly ignorant in the way of the Cult of Jobs, but if there's one company I dislike more than Apple it would probably be Electronic Arts so for the shits and grins I searched a bit on this.
If you pull up EA's default Sims 3 page (at least the default for me) it lists versions as "Platform: PC, PC Download, Mac" but if you pull up the Sims 3 page for the Asia region it shows something interesting "Platform: PC Download, PC, Mac Download, Mac".
I wonder if there may be some way to trick EA into thinking you are in another region. I still think Arrring it is way less hassle though. As long as you don't care about all that social network sending your sims on tour with your friends shit, then you aren't really losing anything by Arrring it because you paid for it.
I suppose there is the principle of wanting EA to do right by their customers but I would not hold my breath on that one.
I have had to Arrr shit I legitimately bought from EA before myself, like the time the Dragon Age Origins servers got Alzheimer's and forgot that I owned all the DLC and wouldn't let me load my savegames that were saved with them. It's EA. Shit happens. Assume the worst and do what you have to do to use the software you rightfully own.

Okay so basically don't use any Ambitions product registration fixes posted by Kissing Toast, Cryllis or Rothchild because they are all out of date. Got it.
Meh, I'll probably just install the real sims3pack for those rewards and live with duplicates.

*The Ambitions Registration Reward fix by Rothchild:Issue: You get additional items you're able to sculpt or invent. Although you are able to buy these through buydebug, the option for actually making these items on their corresponding "workbenches" are missing. Arred version: Decrappified content and possibly package files as well. Download: Rothchild's thread. Notes: See original thread. The 4shared page for this is coming up invalid. Thank you for the catch. It seems that AM should render this mod useless either way so I'll edit this ASAP. There are other files linked in the thread I realized so I'll check if those work and post them as well. Well I'm running the Steam version so I can't use Awesomemod. If anyone has a mirror for that fix somewhere it'd be much appreciated. *Edited to add: I actually own Ambitions so I could install the real Ultimate Career Bundle, but I'm running one big package file that has all the Store crap and bonuses for the entire year decrapped into one file so if I install the real one too I'll get dups.

I'm running package files on everything up to current except the Showtime stuff which I bought legit and the neighborhoods which came as sims2packs in the set I grabbed. The only thing I nabbed off of here is the beats stereo since I didn't get the game off of Origin. I decrapified and it installs but it keeps disappearing the next time I run the game. The Neighborhoods however are not disappearing.
I should also note that I am connected to Steam and Origin and Sims3.com and god only knows what else. Pescado would definitely not approve.

The only things that need to be installed as sims3packs are counters, sectionals, and worlds. Otherwise worlds won't work properly, and you couldn't CAST the counters/sectionals. Everything else should be in .package form.
So for those of us who are using store stuff in package format is there a set of just the counters and sectionals somewhere in sims3pack format or did someone find a way of finagling a fix for them via package files somehow? I already have all the worlds in sims3pack.

HEEEEYYYY! MOTOKI! Skadi made the last torrent I know of and that was indeed late last year, not sure if that's TPB one. Moryrie did all the sims3packs in package format and that's about 3-4 months out of date as well. Also, all the Megaupload links are of course dead. There are various compilations in the downloads thread, you might be best with some of those. Enjoy. Hey Witch! Long time no see. I think the one I was looking at was the package one so probably Moryie. I'd check now but I'm at work and who knows what would pop up from going there, heh. I'll fish through some of the compilations and see which sounds good. EA sure has been busy churning out a lot of crap.

Okay so I admit I have not been around in a bajillion years but I got suckered back in with the Steam sale and am trying to do catchup. So yes I will be a ZOMG!!!!111oneonee HEEEE1111PPPP M3333333 n00b. Feel free to rip my lips off and all that.
I saw a set on TPB that claims to be a comprehensive set of all Store stuff from release through November 2011. Is it pretty safe to do that one and then just grab the Dec/Jan/Feb/Mar crap? Or is there an even newer comprehensive set? (I looked in the usual places and didn't see one newer than november)
The idea of having to download 800,000 sets released since the beginning of time gives me a headache so the less downloads the better.

For me the thing I would want the most is to be able to edit and create new travel destinations. I have a neighborhood I play and am not really so interested in starting a new one, but I would definitely love to have some new locales beyond China, Egypt and France to go to. Why EA didn't allow for creation of custom travel destinations is beyond me. That's just laziness on their part.
