I installed the Razor version, cracked it, then downloaded the updater, ran that, let it update.
It wouldn't work without re-applying the cracked exe though. I can't remember the exact error I got though, I'll find out tonight.
Pretty sure thats what I did too.. and yeah had to put the EXE back in, cause sims3 same up with an error saying couldnt find the CD or something. And also, i like your "I'll find out tonight" comment, is that a: "im at work now, ill check tonight, but couldnt be with out the sims for more than 30mins so im on the forums"? thats what im like at work... hehe. |

There should also be another one.. to patch it up to 631... and then use that one above to patch to updated... but maybe that one above will do it both. I didn't try just one. Sometime ago, I read there will be on-line verification when any downloads are added to the game. Haven't heard anything about this being dropped. My thought is about sharing what is bought on the store will be difficult if we have the EADM and the launcher installed. We definitely need a no-cd crack and not installing the EADM to bypass this, I guess. Will not know til the official copy comes out.
Yeah we will defo need to have a look at this kind of thing.. Cause.. yes im buying my copy.. and yes ill be using my 17$US to spend at the store no doubt... but if stuff on there is going to be upwards of 20$US each month, im not going to be happy, thats one reason I'm not a fan of WoW, or anything else that you have to pay for the game... and then more money for gametime, and whatnot. I'm not a fan of Eve (or whatever it is) but I like the way they are doing it... Free Download, and then monthly fee type thing. Like Magazines. Ok I stop now. |

SHIT I downloaded the digital download one, but I have the physical CD one for RZR... anyone have it? Since EA yanked off the patches.
Have a look a page or 2 back in this forum, there is 2 links to the patches for RZR release, on a mediafile share or something i believe... Id paste it for you, but im just running out for dinner, and had enough time to type all this... Good luck. If you still cant find it... Post back and some one or ill find it for you when I get back. |

The Sims Store is not a fan site charging for CC. It is EA charging for 'extra' content,
HA! You mean content that they release... "Hey guys... Take those 400 objects out of TS3, and lets sell them online... Jerks! And yes that my question, I'm wondering if its as easy to copy the downloads to more that one PC, our how it will work... But seriously what a joke! Pay for shit that they should have put in the game, instead of leaving out to make money of it. And yes i'm aware TSR cant do it... but those pricks at TS3 shouldn't be able to do it either! |

Wasn't sure if it was worth a new thread, maybe later on down the track, If i've posted this in the wrong section let me know...
I'd be guessing that with this stupid Sim Points thing for EA-Store downloads, will these be added to the Booty? I'm guessing we wont really know until it opens how the files will work, but im guessing that's why the content in the base game is so bleak, because they want to make more money from buyers of the game.
Also another question about Booty, will it be divided when it comes to TS2 and TS3 stuff?

Because some of those people have credit cards, bank routing information, wow accounts, brokerage accounts. Ever heard of a keylogger? Yes. I use one to record my girlfriend on msn... when im away... (not really, I use a screen capture tool, alot easier to decode) I know why they do it... but its just fucking stupid. And I know there is nothing that can be done... Except have helpful people like us here to help out Bob/Betty from getting bent over, and have their motive bars hit rock bottom. |

Files like codec.exe and should never be run, delete that shit ASAP, dont even bother to clean it. cause it arnt going to clean. All that should be in the rar is the iso, and a nfo relating to RZR release, filled out all with the RZR info and what not. There is on the ISO of the DVD, a folder with the keygen.
This is not how the codec.exe is hidden. When you open up the .iso, you will see a file called Sims3Setup. It looks like an .exe. It quacks like an .exe. It is not an .exe. If you can open it with WinRar, you will see the supposed real Sims3Setup and the codec.exe file. However, in my case, the "real" Sims3Setup was invalid. If you can't open the Sims3Setup with WinRar, it's the real deal and no codec for you. A tip for people in this case... is to set the extensions of the files so they can be seen, so that if like the case of the .exe.pl file it can be seen. And also the icon on the exe's file, will be like a blank application window. its things like this that spell trouble. I spose if people have any issues they can jump on here.. and maybe post a screenie to show what they are looking at, before going into it, and causing issues, some one is always here to help out. and not only that, im sure they would have geekie friends to ask also. I got my Razor version from TPB and have scanned it for viruses, but it's repeatedly come up clean. It's not the same one that Zazazu posted, however. I'll see if I can find a link. ETA: Alright, this is the one I downloaded without any messages popping up from my antivirus yet. Will probably run a full system scan tonight just to make sure, though. Shit, now i tihnk about it. wont be able to advise wether or not they are proper releases, because they are RARed, it could have anything inside them, the one i downloaded of my tozza site was also RARed. You can only get the heart-shaped cut once you find all the different types of gemstones. The different type of gem cuts are related to how many you send off to get cut.
Sweet thats what I had thought. I love how they have added little tid-bits like like to the game. Eg. My sim is a vivid writer, and loves to write his hopeless love stories, after writing about 25+ books, I noticed the Masterpiece with 5 star rewards, that excites me.. Woo! |

Well, I finally found the most elusive gemstone, which turns out to be something called a rainbow gem. It seems to be worth far less than a pink diamond, but no matter. Getting that allowed me to get the 5th and last gem cut type: a heart shape.
Is it a case of having to find all the different ones? I had my sim go on a mission to collect all the rocks and what not... then i had him send off to get cut... and as i was doing this.. after about 10 another "cut" would show up, all from just sending them off. I am yet to see the heart shaped one. My question: are the cuts more related to finding more rocks etc, or the amount of time you get them cut? |

Best bet is to stick to a valid source for torrents, I;m with a few Private sites, and always getting max downloads from them, and there is never any dodgy stuff put on there, like you find on isohunt and piratebay, all the scene release go to private, and the free ones, sometimes you will find proper stuff there, but most of the time, all i have found is junk! Demoniod isn't a bad free site, you still have to be weary though.

Interesting fact/bug:
At skill level 10 mech. you can upgrade your fire place to have different colour fires. If you do this (options are red- default- blue and green) and then change the upgrade back to something else, the fire will remain the colour your changed it to. :3
Also, which im sure all are aware, that once you hit Level 10, you can Tinker with something, and it will upgrade it to one of the options avail, and if it is already upgraded, it doesn't be repleased but the new upgrade, I read that some where, might well have been in the game, but cant remember, @work atm, and wanted to give me 2 cents before we moved on. WTF: does the effing idiot sim not pay his on bills! I showed him where the mai lbox was, and I showed him how to pay them, when i let my game running for testing to see if it would crash... turns out half my shit was gone from the repo man... IDIOT! (FreeWill on high, you would think that after you showed them what to do... they would autonomously do it??, Wait... its EAxis!) |

I'm off for the second day of Seeing If The Razor Version Crashes My Otherwise Stable Machine Like Reloaded Did. Will report back.
I installed this last night, after uninstalling, RLD release... and normally after 30mins or more of RLD it would have crashed. i played for 6 hrs, not one crash, and no Error: 13 when saving either, I then let it run all night, apart from the dickhead sim not paying the bills, and waking up to a house with half my shit missing, no crashes! w00t! And I also installed one of the pacthes that seemed to work too, but I then had to repleace the EXE with the crackfix one. It's about 711mb. Is this even possible?
I would say this is just junk. this should be over 4gb if its including both the game, crackfix and update. Are there improvements in the Razor release, like the time passing correctly and such?
EAxis couldnt get this shit right in TS2, i doubt they would get this fixed in the first patch of TS3, but I have noticed that there isn't as much B.S. as what went on in RLD release. |

- There are more things in c/documents/electronic arts/sims 3 than there was before.
Has any one tried running a BeyondCompare to the entire Sims3 dir(s) after install? Ill check back in a few hours when I get home, and ill copy all Sims3 folders from RLD release, and isntal RZR release (+patch) and run a BeyondCompare on all dirs and post resuilts. Im sure its been asked before, but so that I can read on from here when I get home, what patch are we applying to the RZR image (as im not sure what region this is)? |

The problem is that the body changes are only temporary and they very quickly return to their default shape.
Well,,, that blows goats! I noticed that there is no fitness bar like in TS2, that allowed you to see where the sim was on that scale. Kinda BS i rekon, because any sims should be able to get fatter or thinner then created.. i wonder how this works for babeis born to a fat/skinning sim, or /fat/fat kidna thing.. Probs better to have this in one of the other threads. |

Probably if you just leave your My Documents stuff alone all of the saved games will be intact.
correct, because it would run of the environment variables provided by the system registry. but if your formatting c:\ u would wanna move these. because commonly users have there docs set to c:\users\etc. |
