I think I'm gonna get a new TS3 (released version) for this issue as my reloaded > razor version just isn't co-operating with any of my three patches and various files have been added/modded. Has anyone got a good TS3 arr link as TPB and mininova are showing very poor amount of seeds, and I don't fancy the Taiwan version, theres enough complications already ![Tongue](/smf/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) Thanks Look through this post to see if any of it helps with the problems you're facing with RLD > RZR version. http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,15531.msg448070.html#msg448070Thanks, I will try that registry editing trick now. However, I'm not looking forward to messing with windows registry files every time a patch/EP/SP comes out, so a good arr'ed physical disc version would still be a good idea I suspect. EDIT: I've got Vista 32. The registry layout is different.

It's in "Outdoor" and under "Lawn Ornaments" and costs $122
I see, thanks. I don't normally browse by room/area like that. Only by function really. Funny that the eyedropper tool doesn't find it in the catalogue then? Perhaps it only picks up items under 'sort by function'.

![](http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/gg160/tizerist/sims3cows.jpg) If I click the eyedropper tool, theres no catalogue equivalent. Its called the "contended cow" advertising board. I dont think it was on my lot before this either. I layed alot of tarmac and would have spotted it. (I think) It was a lot downloaded from the exchange. The patch failed earlier today. How relevant that is I don't know however. Can anyone shine any light on this?

I can't install either patch posted by Pescado. Incorrect game region. I replaced Shaders_Win32.precomp with the one from the disc too. And I inserted the new help pages. Doing it from the launcher moans about not having EA download manager. We still don't want this right?

http://www.thesims3.com/game/patches/-1206416818You can't download it without registering though. Complete list of changes: * Addresses some issues with Speed 2 and 3 moving too slowly. Some machines will have better results when using Speed 2 and 3 now. * Fix to story progression on/off selection toggle. * Fix for a possible crash with audio code. * Fix for babysitter routing off lots with babies. * Addresses some issues with Vsync and refresh rate problems. * Addresses some issues with DVD authentication errors and drive compatibility on startup. * This update deals with some issues on Mac systems that can crash the game while connecting to AFP servers. * Fix for a freeze that can occur when Sims attempt to clean out bad food from the fridge. No stopping the random move-outs then? Moderator edit: Installation problems? Try this: http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,15590.msg448078.html#msg448078

Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread
|

In the last thread, there were a ton of separate posts with different commands for different things that weren't always listed in the rtfm. Is there any way people might list the ones they know? I never got around to messing with the commands in AwesomeMod since I just stuck with playing regularly while running the mod siltently, but noticed there was a lot of talk about different ones in the last thread. I had intended on going through and making up some sort of reference however, that is no longer possible. Maybe someone could start a thread for that, or post them here since the thread does say "helpful tips". That would be awesome as a recap all in one place.
I agree. I too am also totally lost regarding all these new functions, so I'll just ignore them and keep simming until I feel a bit braver.

Just a quick nugget of feedback
It crashes about 1 time in 30, perhaps better, and very early on too, so all is well.
There have been a couple of in-game crashes (a sound glitch gives away the crash before it happens) but that could easily be non mod-related, and its rare. Anyone else had that?

I get it too. I think that the character models are more angular in-game than in CAS. Not much, but jawlines can become sharper and squarer. CAS used to crash my game before I updated drivers, so the higher resolution CAS models would appear to be quite strenuous on the video card...
As for the HP skins, well, I didn't notice much difference apart from the nipples.

I said as soon as I saw Riverview I said that theres NO WAY I am going to have buildings in there that are identical to Sunset Valley. Absolutely no way. I'll probably try this later on tonight. Until we get new rabbit-hole meshes, this type of thing will have to do, otherwise we are faced with the spectre of having to re-use the buildings from Sunset Valley! This cannot be allowed to happen! And will not happen! I downloaded the "stadio" stadium from the exchange, but alas it wasn't tall enough to hide the rabbit-hole building, so it has merely gone next to it. ![Sad](/smf/Smileys/default/sad.gif)

TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: The Launcher And You: Why You Should Hate It
|

If you ever attempt to DELETE any content, the Launcher will not, in fact, actually give you your disk space back, instead leaving you with a 50 MB file containing absolutely nothing. SOMETIMES it might let you have your disk space back....but usually not.
Ouch. Does it do this every time, or is it just one 50mb file?

Did you try using Pes' recompression tool on it?
I just did and it works - bravo to you. I used the TS2 compresorizor (bah!) but only to (unsuccessfully) shrink file sizes, I had no idea this would work. So will this work for .package files as well as sims3pack? I guess it just shaves off the authorization part of the file?
