While I would like inter-family relations to be possible and inter-age marriages as well, it was supposed to be a joke. I was just combining all the options.

Claeric, while I am normally very supportive of you and enjoy both Wraithlands and several other things you have done, you have supplied me now with just a wee bit too much information. I am going to go scrub out my brain with peroxide now.

It truly is TMI and because he is socially retarded it completely goes over his head that people should generally keep their perverse little fetishes to themselves. In this case, sharing is not caring.
103  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Missing body while bathing/bathing in shirts? on: 2010 July 27, 16:18:16
I don't have anything installed the old way- I got a new computer before Ambitions, and just did a fresh install of everything when Ambitions came out, as I hadn't played in some time. I downloaded and installed everything new for this install, so I shouldn't have any old packages or sim3packs stored away, but I'll try yanking everything anyway.

Yanked, let it generate a new Sims 3 folder: new test neighborhood, body appeared normal while showering. Added my save files, tested again in the clean, new neighborhood: worked fine. Loaded up my original test neighborhood where the EA-default ladies were showering in shirts: Erin Kennedy is still showering in a shirt.

Damn. I suppose this means all my save files are damaged, which is a bummer. I suppose I will have to reinstall, but could I even add back all my installs and package files without this happening again if I don't know what is causing it? Are my save files all losses? Could the CAS families I made that are saved to the library be spared?

Normally saved families are fine and don't bring over borkedness since you're really just saving copies of them and unlike Sims 2, it doesn't bring over a bunch of other crap from the save file when you import them. If they are referencing bad clothing though I'm not sure if they'll port over okay.  Undecided I suppose it's worth a try though. Perhaps you could plan their outfits to all default EA stuff (if they aren't already) before you save the family just in case.

I'd be wary of throwing all the custom content back in due to getting whatever is causing it again. It's got to be something that was downloaded and ended up somewhere underneath My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/ so if you dump that all back in again you'll probably get the bad item(s) too.

As much as it sucks, you'll probably have to start over with cc, though mods should be okay. Just be really selective about your cc in the future and download a few at a time, test the game for a bit, then get more. If you go on a huge mass downloading spree and something goes horribly wrong with the game it gets hard to pin down what the problem item is.
104  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Missing body while bathing/bathing in shirts? on: 2010 July 27, 08:12:30
If you are getting it even with starting a new game it's probably something you downloaded (or stowed away in something you downloaded).

So if you yank out the whole My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/ folder out, and yank out all package files if you have them installed the old way under Program Files, and start a new game do you still get it? If you don't get it then, try putting back only your save files and nothing else. If you're still not getting it it's got to be something you downloaded.

Selectively yanking out things is fine but I think I would try yanking out everything first.

The other possibility is that perhaps you have some old no mosaic mod or some other mod that messes with one of the game files like an ini or some such. Maybe you got it for an earlier patch and forgot? Anyway, if you yanked everything out and still get the issue then I'd just reinstall the game and all the expansion packs, patch, then add back in your custom content. If you back up the My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/ folder and then just copy it back that should do it.

Male pregnancy
Exists, if the pollination is performed by a third-party item at the Scienceworks...

Which doesn't exist and at least one person attempted to do so but it seems it still didn't work. However Twallan's woohooer circumvents this and allows you to do it with normal woohooing on beds etc.

Will the family thing include marriage as well as woohoo and kissing and such? How about inter-age interactions?

I want my sim to marry his adoptive son with which he is sexually active, please

Wow, I won't even touch this one. I will just say that your request is very much a niche that I don't think would appeal to very many people, or at least very few would be willing to admit so publicly. Tongue
106  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Missing body while bathing/bathing in shirts? on: 2010 July 27, 07:35:52
I had to laugh at that last picture of that sim Porky Piggin it.

Anyhow, did you try temporarily yanking out the My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\DCCache and My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\DCBackup folders? That's where all the launcher installed crap goes. Some of those borked Sims3packs can do some truly weird shit like making sims invisible or stretching babies out to big sticks. Also, you don't have to have downloaded those borked items directly as they can stow away in other sims3pack files ala the evil doll.

There's some info here at the Exchange about corrupt improperly created custom content from sims3packs that causes problems. In particular, apparently some people create their custom clothing and mark it internally as 'nude' causing sims to bath with clothes on.
107  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2010 July 27, 03:11:19
Has anyone used this with awesomemod/anything else?

http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=354748

I am curious to know how well it works. There are a few mods I'd like to try but they are core mods and as a result I cannot use them with awesomemod, but supposedly this will combine them. I figure Awesomemod is probably a hell of a lot more complex than the mods I'm looking at, so it'd be best to ask here about it and how well AM handles being combined with other core mods.

It is an old, old tool and really more of a proof of concept. Besides, RTFM or just the overview page on MTS. What part of "This tool will only be useful when (or if) modders agree in develop and distribute core mods in the expected format (dll + config xml)" do you not get?

If you had looked through the comments, you also would have seen that Pescado commented on it and why it is not feasible for him to tailor Awesomemod around this. Lastly, the creator also noted he compiled this tool with 1.2.7 version of the game which is many patches ago and over a year old.

Basically, you could try it if you insist, but yeah, good luck.

Also, sorry for the bad language.
Maybe I should use American English instead next time.

Just focus on fully learning one, please. I'm not sure what you are trying to speak, but it isn't English.

Looks like Chavanese to me.

Decrapify is a really simple DOS based program that uses very little resources. Are there not DOS emulators for Mac?
110  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2010 July 26, 17:41:29
It gets to the screen with the load bar and does nothing.  I have the spinning circle and the bar doesn't move at all.

Looks like framework failure. The strange thing is, the game loaded fine before. I think maybe you accidentally deleted the framework files. You may run Delphy's Sims 3 Dashboard from MTS. It checks whether you installed framework properly or not.

How strange, that's exactly what had happened, yet I have no idea how.  Literally all I did was install the update, it shouldn't have touched the framework files.

Unfortunately, the load bar is still not moving with AM in the folder.

Assuming you have the latest version of Awesomemod (really old versions would have expired on you anyway) and have the game updated with the latest patch released after Ambitions it's either files missing, in incorrect locations or some other content causing the issue.

EA changed the process for installing package files with Ambitions so read up on that here at mod the sims

If you have any other mods or custom content verify that they are updated and will work correctly with Ambitions.

GET A LIFE

and english is not my main language so fuck off

English may not be your main language, but you obviously know it well enough to post coherently and follow basic grammar rules.

Clearly. I've known ESLs with far less advanced written English that still know to capitalize and don't make up their own cutesy abbreviations.

Also, the actual content amounts to 'I didn't follow the instructions. How do I fix this?' both proving he is an idiot for not following the instructions in the first place and doubly so for not realizing his issues are probably solved by actually reading said instructions of which ignoring got him into the problem in the first place.
112  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2010 July 25, 21:01:49
That thread is pretty much useless, because as I said, I don't have any expansion packs.

Basegame + the latest patch = Ambitions fixes and structure - the new Ambitions content. ie if you have the latest patch (which you should and if you don't there's your problem right there) then no, that thread is not useless to you since any install of Sims 3 patched to current will utilize the new mod install structure introduced with Ambitions.

Nevertheless, I read through it and tried some things out, with the result, that game now loads properly, but awesome mod still doesn't work (I get an unknown command message when I type "showconfig" into the cheat console).

Then YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG.

Does anyone have the 'Study In Fractures' mirror? It was a free item in the store but has been removed recently. Here's a picture:

Hmm, I thought that was part of the Collectionne Stäncké aka Modern Minimalist set, but when I got to look at that set on sims3.com there's 2 other similar mirrors in it but not that one. Odd.

I thought Twallan was a him? But anyway yes the supercomputer, now renamed the controller is good for all sorts of demographic data on your town.
115  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Stupid Sims 3 patch on: 2010 July 24, 21:45:29
Just patched the game, got the latest AM too.
When loading up a world, the bar almost reaches the end, and then it stays that way forever. A short forever, but forever nonetheless.
I've tried this with both saves and new games, but none seem to load, not even Vole's CAS world which usually took around a minute or so before.

No CTD yet. What could be the issue?

Custom content and/or other mods. Try yanking them all out and see if it loads. Also many of Twallan's mods have been updated for the new patch so if you have any of his go there and get the newest versions.
116  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Stuck in buy/build mode? on: 2010 July 23, 22:50:41
Replaced packages first, then reinstalled, same thing.
Should try to take out my cc. Sigh...

If you've tried everything else it's worth a shot but I can't think of any custom content that would mess with those specific EA files.  Undecided
117  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Stuck in buy/build mode? on: 2010 July 23, 22:20:01
My game freeze when I choose the empire line washer, and also with a stove. These are game files, should I reinstall? Or copy from the disk?

If it's clearly EAxis objects causing issues then that would be my first thought, that it may be a corrupt game file or files and to do a reinstall. However you may want to try starting a new game first and seeing if those items still give you problems in order to try and rule out a corrupt save.

If they still give you problems in a new game, definitely try a reinstall, but if you have no problems with those items in a new game it may be that your save file is corrupt.
118  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Stuck in buy/build mode? on: 2010 July 23, 20:20:56
I also had an issue with a bad pattern causing the CAST to just keep loading forever. It could be custom content even if you don't think it is. It's easy enough to just temporarily yank it all out and see what happens. If nothing else it's worth eliminating that as a possible cause for troubleshooting purposes.
119  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Stuck in buy/build mode? on: 2010 July 23, 16:49:57
It's likely some custom content that is no longer compatible with the current version of the game you are running if you're getting stuck like that.

The area in build or buy mode where you get stuck should give some idea of what type of content is causing the issue. For example, after installing Ambitions I was getting stuck when going into Miscellaneous Decorations. It turned out it was Srikandi's recolored bathroom clutter (which is in that section) and removing it fixed the issue.

If you are getting stuck when looking at walls, try yanking out all your custom walls and patterns. If you still get the issue, try yanking out all custom content and testing. If your game runs fine in build and buy mode without custom content then you get to figure out which item exactly is causing the issue, which unfortunately is a real pain in the ass and involves a lot of trial and error.
120  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2010 July 23, 05:52:05
@Tubbo: You obviously need a lot of hand holding, consoling and reassurances so I will break it down for you.

Look, the creator of the mod said you can uninstall it by pausing, typing uninstall, saving and exiting then removing the mod. Regardless of what the "multiple posts" you could have sworn you read said, he is, you know, the creator of the damned mod so I would think he would know a little more about it than some random yahoo.

The irreversible damage he is speaking of by playing a game without Awesomemod's critical fixes applies equally to playing never having installed Awesomemod in the first place as it does to playing post Awesomemod uninstall. i.e. even BBStards who never touched or heard of Awesomemod could still experience such damage, i.e. if you play unmodified sloppy EAxis code use at your own risk.

He's not saying there will be a problem, and if there were it would not be caused by any residual effect of removing Awesomemod, he is saying that there are parts of EA's code that he fixed that could potentially cause errors if you aren't using his fixes.

Transferring families between neighborhoods is completely irrelevant to having or not having Awesomemod since you are not transferring your save files but rather just templates containing the looks and traits of those sims in order to recreate copies of them in the new neighborhood.

I find Pescado's to be too strict where everything has to satisfy a set of mathematical formulas or else nothing happens, which in my case is exactly what happens. Nothing. Or very slow progress. I don't know, maybe my system is just not as awesome as Pescado's and doesn't have enough rams.
Whereas I find stuff that happens without any reason or purpose, especially when there is absolutely nothing you can do about it and it blatantly contradicts the observed on-screen behavior, to be infuriating.

In my mind Twallanistani SM works on quantum mechanics whereby the act of attempting to observe something changes its state.  Tongue

Anyway, ultimately I don't care what hocus pocus goes on behind the scenes. Unlike yourself, I don't know the inner workings of the game (past xml values anyway) and I don't want to know. All I know is with Twallan SM shit happens and I like for shit to happen.

@Solmyr: Have you tried Twallan's Story Mode?

Anyway, Twallan's Story Mode is also highly configurable.

Sorry about the run on sentence, but you honestly need to tone down the dumbass-ness of your posts. Just fucking answer the question and move on assface. Get over yourself.

@Coney. The information exists. It is up to you to find it, read it and comprehend it. You aren't sitting on a board of directors of Sims 3 file tools so no one is going to give you some neat little concise summary complete with a Powerpoint presentation that includes bulletpoints, charts, and examples of real world applications with pictures.

To you I say:

It's not just you, it's the Create a Pattern tool. I posted about this in the thread I made ranting about that damned tool when it first came out.

I have no clue why it's doing that but hopefully someone will figure out why someday and make a fix for it.

I uninstalled my FAT AND OUTRAGEOUS HEAD

That was meant for Bluesoup, although if your head is also fat and outrageous by all means go ahead and uninstall yours too.
