oh! I might have to try those. I loath Maxis blonde and red and ... Okay I just generally don't like Maxis hair. Of course I don't really like most of the "realistic" hair textures either. TOO shiney.

I bring you a Liella dress.
I love the texture on Liella clothes, they bring some chic in my often rural neighbourhoods. However, even when wearing formal dresses, my Sims like to do active stuff like, you know, seating.
http://www.hiboox.fr/go/images/jeu-video/snapshot-52c00ea9-d590d62c,478a8ea9590f16fafeda74d46424e83d.jpg
I'll leave it to your imagination to picture what it looks like when she's crouching.
BTW this is how it was advertised: http://lliella.com/index.php?option=com_content&id=5&Itemid=39&limit=1&limitstart=8
It's a donation item, on top of that (and I've deleted several different dresses from that creator for similar problems).

Edit: I've never had any problems with that Peggy male hair. Could it have been updated?

There's a fixed version on PMBD.  You might have that, unless you paid for it.  Grin  (Also IIRC the problem only occurs for certain ages?)

Okay, is my browser not showing me images again, or is this page just a wall o' links?

Please assume that some of us do not have logins to other ghey sim sites, as there is only one sim site, and also require instant lulz.

A. Emma, DO NOUKIFY. The blacks in the aforementioned hair replacement set are purple. I cannot stand the purple blacks.
B: I must bahh for all of you warning me how horrid some of these things are. I had arred that NeptuneSuzy dress and not put it in my game yet. Now I shall burn it with fire.

Now, a hairshit. I couldn't find a proper front-on shot for it, but... well, the hair looks like it's supposed to!

The first block of links on this page have nothing to do with the contest. The links in Heodez's post don't need logons to view, but linking without embedding pics = fail.
Post links and pictures, kthxbai.

Yes! I forgot to mention this. Because of the way the alpha is set up, there might be some overlapping of some bottoms if the shoes are mapped where the collar is.
Uhm, you don't think that might be something you should have done something about when you converted it?

I'm not sure if I have those in-game, I have most of the stuff by Migamoo and it always looks like quality stuff. Just goes to show you.

I love that hair! Gwill, where did you get that short black hair photo from?
Or does anyone know where the hair can be found?

*edit* found the photos, but no clue as to where the hair was from. Sad

That's somewhat frightening, that thought is.

Salix, the mesh is from Rose (096) and I think it's a realpha/retexture by either Liegenschonheit or Nth.

I am pretty sure pattern recognition is traditionally a male attribute.

I can't find a decent article on pattern recognition abilities, based on gender, that is accessible to me without logins for various pages. I've only spent about 15 minutes looking and don't have time today unfortunately.

I did find a Swedish study which reckons females are better at recognising faces.

Quote
The women had higher correct answer frequencies then men in all face recognition questions they answered.

Although it goes on to say that hairstyles degrade pattern recognition performance in all. So you were performing especially well for a male, JM.  Tongue

"Men are better at throwing darts (this was shown in an experiment that controlled for sports practice, but, sadly not for pub attendance), mentally rotating objects, and some other tasks related to spatial cognition."

http://129.199.80.1/~alphapsy/blog/?2006/10/30/96-sex-differences

"Some psychological tests also show the male advantage in systemising. For example, in the mental rotation test, you're shown two shapes, and asked if one is a rotation or a mirror image of the other. Males are quicker and more accurate on this test. Reading maps has been used as another test of systemising. Men can learn a route in fewer trials, just from looking at a map, correctly recalling more details about direction and distance. If you ask boys to make a map of an area that they have only visited once, their maps have a more accurate layout of the features in the environment, eg, showing which landmark is south-east of another.

If you ask people to put together a 3D mechanical apparatus in an assembly task, on average, men score higher. Boys are also better at constructing block buildings from 2D blueprints. These are constructional systems."

Of course, one of the leading hypotheses is that autism is an extreme form of the male brain.

Ah, but my facial recognition is terrible and probably severely atrophied because I simply don't recognize people by their faces as a primary mode of identification. I use my shark sense for identification, which are much more reliable. Plus, I'm not identifying the sim. I'm identifying the constructional style of the mesh.

Here's one of my main inspirations for starting this thread: a pay hair from The Sims Connection called "Time After Time."

Upon putting it in the game one of the first noticable things is that the ponytail has something weird going on at the end.

It's skintone/pink and sort of weird.  I call it 'the Butt.'  Look for it in the following pictures.

Besides the Butt, the real problems with the hair begin when the Sim starts to move, because aside from sticking out at odd angles as seen above, the luxurious ponytail tends to...

or

I still remember the face I made first time I witnessed this years ago, when the hair was advertised enthusiastically on TSC as being by Fionn and having amazing animations.
(edited to try and get one of the pics to show)

I vote on this one.

This top is a default replacement. HystericalParoxysm's replacement mesh: not as advertised.

At least HP is likely to actually do something about it if it's pointed out to her politely where she can see it -- unlike, say, Peggy.
