CEP 8.1 released
« on: 2008 May 19, 17:26:37 »
THANKS THIS IS GREAT

New CEP is available over at MTS2.  Fixes some of the bugs (i.e., the disappearing phones among others), and has some new features, including support for K&B stuff.

Personally, I'll be glad to have my children's stoves back. I didn't realize how much I used them in nice, unobtrusive colours before K&B completely destroyed my recolours so it could add some little deco pattern to the original maxis texture.

I just read the bug list, who needs maxis?  Our modders fix bugs better and faster than the paid EA workers!

Oh and thanks for the link, downloaded and will install.

I don't know if this really applies to many other people, but if you have Seasons and Freetime installed but not BV, the garden rock fix will cause a crash in the deco>misc. section.

It applies to me, and I thank you for warning me before I installed it.

I guess my encounter with the bug wasn't so bad. At least I know I was able to help out at least one Simmer out there because of it. xD

I hope Numenor at least puts up a note about it while he works on a fix for it. I don't think everyone reads the comments.

Thanks for the warning Blueblood - I'm in that situation as well. I generally dont use fences, so I guess I'm safe. What kind of crash are we talking about here?

Couldn't you just remove the entry for the rocks that you do not have, in Simpe? That's what I did with the last CEP, so that I could see the missing K&B recolors, and removed the extra pool light entry to avoid crashing.

One day in college I was feeling very stupid. So I drove with Ben down to Maitland and toured EA Tiburon for an hour as an 'honorary intern'. I left feeling MUCH smarter. I recommend the experience to everyone.  -this is a quote from an Ex-boyfriend of mine..

It crashes the whole game to the desktop.

You could probably do that. I just used the autoinstaller and unchecked the garden rock fix though.

Huh, well, learn something new. I've been using the manual install for the last couple of releases now. Why? I have no idea. Paranoia about installers maybe.
