Im about the same age as that car..I cant remember the exact title but for some reason it reminded me of that book. Buick was in the title- it was some sort of transport machine (living thing actually) to another dimension and it sent weird oddities to earth and killed a few people.

Im not sure about the clothing tester but it was supposed to fix the no go to work or school problem. Im not sure about the clothing tester. Sorry should have been more clear.

You want to see something really weird make Vidcund Curious flirt with a female ( as long as its mutual) -he flirts like a shy little girl.

That car in your avatar keeps making me think of that Stephen King book about that Buick.

Tracy Emin...

She is one hell of a weird artist, I'm not very fond of her stuff. However, what you said ZZ - art is a point of view, really it boils down to the fact that art is an expression. (I do wish that the A-level art coursework we had required something as easy as this though Wink )

That looks like my bedroom. Hey maybe I can sell my room for big bucks too! Geezz... Ive studied art and usually artwork requires, thought, comtemplation and EFFORT.

384  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Blank memory? on: 2005 October 18, 17:57:47
This sounds like the blank icon bug. Do you have a remote control on the lot? Get rid of it. This bug starts with a sim playing with it and then you saving the game while he is playing with it. NOw if you had NL there is a patch for this problem or Uni but there is a work around for it. Im not sure if you can do it with sims2 . If you do a search on the blank icon bug there is a link to a workaround.

Today I have learned that when you want to advertise something you should put it in every section and spell it terribly and spam up the whole board. I didnt know that. Also curse words make great user names.

Maybe my computer is retarded. Smiley Smiley

You wouldnt believe the whining about the patch. Personally I like them.  No more evil remote control Dr. Vu cars. Grin

Ive never had nanny problems before but recently every time I call one to track my schedule they come over immediately and (one occassion 4 were sent most duplicates) and I didnt realize it until I started dismissing one and then there she was again .  She didnt come the next day at the right time either but the kids were fine no social worker. Im like huh? what is this?  Fired her and tried again...they cant track correctly now for some reason. no biggie I hate them anyway.

Guess what!!  Ive got that too!  I just looked and there it is!   Somebody's computer has been spying on the other! Grin and copied!  I have no idea what this is.  The only thing I have done today is go to the BBs.  I would take a picture but I dont know how or am incapable of it. But I did notice that the other ones just show when I last played that version and this shows when I was last playing the sims.i

Well not all of us are a bunch of babies..Im from both sims boards and yes there are a lot of folks(mainly younguns) who think holding their breath till they turn blue will fix the problems.  Some of us are mature though-I come and go now because I got sick of the tirades and the new trolling that was occurring.  They still have that despite lack of off topic.
392  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nightlife Nightmare on: 2005 October 03, 15:04:32
Nice to have found this oasis of information; a refreshing contrast to the inanity of the Sims BBS.

Against my better judgment I purchased Nightlife; thought I'd wait for the Uni patch first, but my curiosity got the better of me.

Am running a Dell Dimension 8400 with 1GB Ram, Pentium 4 processor (3.2GHz), 80 GB HD (half empty) 128MB ATI Radeon PCI Express X300SE video card, and Windoze XP Home Edition.   No hacks, no downloaded custom content. HD is defragged and the firewall, a.v. software, and backround tasks are turned off during my attempts to install.

That said, Nightlife won't install.  Disk #1 runs fine, then when I remove the first disk and insert disk #2 in the CD/DVD-ROM drive, nothing happens.  The last file shown on the installation window is TsData/control/control.dat   At 51% of the install, it stops.  Have waited for as long as 30 minutes for it to do something before cancelling the installation.

Since TS2 and Uni EP installed and run just fine, I exchanged the disks thinking they were defective.  Same issue with the second set.  Cleaned the disks to make sure they were spotless.  No luck.

Am I being impatient?  Does it take several hours for this EP to install?  Or do I have lousy luck and got another set of defective disks?

Thanks

I had this happen to me  check your game file (my documents) if you removed it you will need to put it back in but  and this is a big one REMOVE the http cache, collections, movies, saved sims, teleport, downloads and neighborhoods and save them on your desktop.(the reason for this is to save your game progress and you can put them back after installation) and try and see if it finishes installation. I had removed my ea games folder and it wouldnt finish installation because the folder wasnt there.
393  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Submit Issues about Nightlife on: 2005 October 03, 14:33:53
I only noticed this issue happening when I installed Nightlife.  I developed the remote car=no icon, blank memory, no announcement of promotion or no teenage listing of job  bug. I found a fix on the Sims2 site but I had to reinstall because in my (not the game folder) nightlife files there was no object manager file to paste into the ts data and when I reinstalled it still wasnt there-is that normal? (( I have since reinstalled 2 more times due to  an error with clicking on sims and nothing happening and then when I added a previous sims 2 folder  back onto my computer and having that EVIL NASTY remote car from hell on a lot))  Its playing fine now but I heard it will come back.  It isnt devestating but I do want to know about promotions and to see what they are thinking.
