51  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: launcher bug on: 2010 March 05, 15:19:13
I only use the launcher to install things, not to start the game, and my dbcs appear in game. But the last things I put in the downloads folder to install disappeared along with the rest.
The launcher seems to lose the path to the cache folder, or to not recognize the files in it.
And if I want to not depend on people converting for me, I need the launcher. Or go the more complicated route with converting to packages and merging them.

Edit: consider this thread as an ode to my stupidity: the launcher had sent my downloads folder to the bin, replaced by a virgin one, and that was why it was empty.
My initial problems were real though.
Sorry for wasting your time.  Embarrassed
52  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: launcher bug on: 2010 March 05, 02:21:08
And now... a new development: everything has disappeared from the launcher. I was trying to install the new store packs, it kept hanging, so I had to kill it, and now it is completely empty. Everything is still in game, I think, but how am I to install if nothing appears? I was using the working launcher method. The Hels launcher is empty too.
Any idea on how to get everything back, except reinstalling the packages, again!

Speaking of hair, I accidentally deleted my hair backup with individual files, and just have the big package. Can I extract from it the individual hairs, to make another big one with the new hairs added, or just delete a few? I am spring cleaning.
54  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: launcher bug on: 2010 February 27, 21:11:51
I had to download again, and delete the old ebc. And I decided to install my other packs again, and ended with a nice big dbc. I was just trying to delete a few items when it bugged and I had to kill it, and the bought store items were eaten. The rest resisted.
55  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / launcher bug on: 2010 February 26, 01:11:51
I was tinkering with the working launcher, and after the launcher bugged noticed that everything I installed from the store has disappeared. The arred content appears as installed but not the rest. I tried to reinstall a few items but I get an error 0x6224dd27 and the launcher can't start the game.
If I start the game, I only have an old save in Egypt. My last save was Riverview.
Do you have any advice on getting the launcher to work again, the working prepatch one, or the Hels one , neither can't start the game.
56  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Decrapify vs. manual .dbc files? on: 2010 February 21, 13:26:20
Speaking of decrapifying, I have just had to patch because of awesomemod message, installed Hels, and my game has the freezing every minute bug.
Would decrapifying help? And what should I decrapify: packages/ merged packages/ launcher dbc files (I don't have any other, as I used the non patched launcher) objects only/ other items/ ? Saves of course.
I have been playing with my old save, which still has a few days of playing in it.
57  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: If you REALLY want to use Launcher to install Sims3Pack with 1.8/2.3 on: 2010 January 25, 20:03:19
I reverted to the previous patch because I could not unfreeze it. And it would error three times out of four.
58  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Steps On How to install Store Items with the Current Patch 2.3 on: 2010 January 11, 21:21:07
So you use the launcher as an extractor tool, is that it? Does it make a difference with the other extractors?
And if the ressource file points to the cache, the game will still only show the store items installed pre-patch, or the new ones that the launcher swallows too?
59  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Merging mods to increase Performance! (Manually creating .dbc archives) on: 2010 January 09, 21:24:16
They were patterns, and had many crossed out, and the next line was always a 00000 instance, that I marked for deletion too.
And the other folder I did, paintings all by the same creator, had quite a few too.
60  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Merging mods to increase Performance! (Manually creating .dbc archives) on: 2010 January 09, 20:53:24
Thank you for the answer, they had the same name. And I read the thread, twice. When the window with all the files marked for deletion appears, does saving automatically deletes them, or do I have to do it manually?I suppose so, since nothing is crossed out when it has saved. And what is having to merge xlm manually?
61  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Merging mods to increase Performance! (Manually creating .dbc archives) on: 2010 January 09, 18:37:17
Thank you for this solution. I've decided to try, but after n°3, I can't find import as dbc. All I have is import from file or import from package, and if I choose that, I have save as DBPF.
What am I doing wrong?
62  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Bugs in WA on: 2010 January 03, 12:50:54
Is it a bug or a mod? The babysitters don't interact with the babies, they just stand next to the crib. With toddlers, they occasionally put them in bed, but never take them out.
Babies stay at zero relationships, so do toddlers, and when they grow into children, they start from that point, well, zero. Someone in the thread said it was a graphical glitch, not for me.

Thank you indeed.
Does anyone knows if we can rename these files?
64  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch 1.8/2.3 plus Create a World Released on: 2009 December 28, 13:25:48
Mine doesn't, I can't install many third party downloads.
65  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / fridge bug on: 2009 August 27, 22:34:05
In one of my houses, I can't put things in the fridge. I can order a sim to put away the leftovers, but I can't transfer from the inventory or put away myself.
I deleted it, bought another, same thing. Other houses seem to be fine.
So what to do before the shopping gets spoilt in the inventory?
OOps, realized I could open and transfer. But, still, it's bugged, so if you have any ideas, thank you.

I've had a YA marry so many elders and getting widowed I can't remember her name. Could the message go YA/former name married to.... instead of YA/new name married to..., and even better keep their first name: Carol SwOrd-Goddard? I thought she was marrying her father when she wed Frio. She doesn't have special traits, I don't know about lifetimewish.
67  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: move grave? on: 2009 August 22, 18:12:29
I know that, but are the tombs visible by all sims in manage the dead, if they are, the Goth are not there. And I wanted their son to take them back home.
68  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: move grave? on: 2009 August 22, 17:04:19
Ah well. Do different tombs appear to different sims? I was thinking of trying to find some former friends of theirs, to put the graves in the graveyard. And try to have their son pick it up. Guess it isn't possible.
69  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Really Long Save Tiime on: 2009 August 22, 16:42:23
I have looong save times too, once 40 mns, and micro freezes too. I took out my extracted packages, and reinstalled through the launcher. That helped, only 15 mns now.
It might be something from TSR, I grabbed patterns when they were free.
It would be a good idea to share the names of the offending files.
70  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesome Story Driver Beta-Testing reports on: 2009 August 21, 13:14:03
droptrait Chosen doesn't work.
I will try to click on the sim with chosen by a family member where chosen went off when I unsacred the house.
71  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesome Story Driver Beta-Testing reports on: 2009 August 20, 16:10:28
Their house is not sacred anymore, but most of them keep Chosen, and you can't drop it. And of the few that did not, I noticed some strange new traits in its place, that I had to change.
When I cick on the sim with different combinations, I can't find the make sacred I used to.
And I had a sim die in my absence, and his inventory disappeared. Nothing is in his wife's, I lost the moodlet modifier.

Edit: tried again, control doesn't do more than simple click, same for alt. or ctrl/alt. ctrl/shift= nuke.
72  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesome Story Driver Beta-Testing reports on: 2009 August 20, 13:47:50
My on conception of hopeless romantics are people who wish on starts and sit at home and wait for their prince or princess to ring their doorbell and sweep them off their feet and turn their life into a perfect Hollywood storybook fairy tale.

I imagine them as not making very good mates as they'll inevitably come crashing down to reality hard when their mate belches or digs through the trash or leaves dirty dishes around. Then they will assume that they just found the wrong one and will resume wishing on stars and waiting for the one true love ®
Story of my life.
When I make a household not sacred, they keep the chosen trait, and when they move too. Does it do anything, should I drop it?
73  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: move grave? on: 2009 August 19, 20:26:48
Speaking of Goth, is there a way of getting their urns back, they died when I was playing another home, so the graveyard is missing these two.
74  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Long pauses on: 2009 August 19, 19:42:18
I have been having this stutter-freeze, but all the time, much worse at parties and in CAS, and also changing live/buy.
I took all CC out except mods, and it was playable. I put it back, except for most of the packages I extracted myself, I put that back with the launcher.
It is running, not smoothly, but, hey, it was unplayable. Maybe it is a bad synergy AM/CC.
75  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomod discussion/questions/helpful tips thread on: 2009 August 19, 19:29:24
The problem seems to be that you can't have the father or mother's skin, but in between. Which will in time make everyone dark brown.
