26  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Instruments by proxy GUID [Update 8-28-08 EP8!] on: 2008 September 15, 05:06:44
I haven't tested these yet, but here they are:
(Download removed because it was borked.)
Once I get the alpha edit project from hades done, I will test them if AmberDiceless has not.
One of these had DOUBLE the number of normal BHAVs (JWoodsKeyboard)-- basically a BHAV for everything, so if anything won't work, it will be that.
Pianos have a set category since BV, so you'll probably have to change the init bhav, but I don't know off the top of my head what it's supposed to be.

This were my first pianos, so if I understood this correctly, I changed the header Flag from 0x01 to 0x02 and changed the Tree version from 0xFFFF800E to 0xFFFF800F in the init BHAV, in addition to the usual steps (GUIDs, reset, and no op in init bhav). If this is incorrect, Argon, please tell me.

Thanks Amber! I'll update these and post them in the Proxy by GUID thread when I'm done.
28  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Proper Life Stories conversions (FT and AL) *up8 9-11-08 8:26pm on: 2008 September 14, 18:28:51
Amber, if you looky here you'll see that Argon's Instruments by Proxy GUID can be used with Atavera's instruments, which are all posted in the same thread (some updated by me, some Argon). I'd gladly update and share any additional custom instruments you have, just so I can hoard them as well!  Grin

Edit: Because my keyboard has approximately 20 fully working keys.
29  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Testers wanted: Slower Aspiration Benefits in Freetime. on: 2008 September 13, 14:41:03
Is this compatible with AL?
30  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More Awful Than You! September: Not As Advertised on: 2008 September 13, 03:50:15
Wow, sudaki, I don't envy your rebinning task. Shocked I died a little inside last time I rebinned my hair folder. And, uh, because of the packages that had black .bmps inside, I now have a few blonds in the black bin.  Embarrassed
31  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: PSA: Abandonated Mods Borked by AL on: 2008 September 11, 12:44:40
Pwned on both accounts! It's so great to be stupid.
32  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Stuff on: 2008 September 11, 12:16:25
hi. I'm new here and I'm looking for the exercise equipment and gym lockers from The University EP
Has anyone uploaded the exercise equipment and gym lockers from Uni?

Someone else here suggested putting all of the fixed files here in one big rar file since it is so hard to find them all.  I guess, by what I am reading, they are all here now, all that are available now, but I agree, as I stated before, it is very hard to go through 27 pages to find the fixed stuff. Shocked  UGH.

Hey you. This is not your personal request forum; there is a search button right there in that handy row of blue buttons, we have a 'Where can I find' thread, and the thread actually STATES what is here already, if you could READ. You don't quite seem to understand that you're not paying anyone here for services. Also, using the most recently modified file is not that confusing or difficult when you get the files for FREE. EA expects you to navigate an entire store FFS. Cappuccino even did the work for you. Damn kids!

Edit: That was mean caeks of me. Okay-- here is the link to the master rar file.
33  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: PSA: Abandonated Mods Borked by AL on: 2008 September 10, 00:39:33
I hope lotfullofsims is updated soon. I needs it! won't someone please think of the clowncar?!!!? Cheesy

Ah yes. I was just preparing to make the switch to AL, had fixed all of my Hack folders and was left with this unruly 'Unsupported' folder. Thank goodness for this thread-- I would have borkinated MOST of my lots because there is rarely a lot where I don't have more than eight sims. Because, you know, this was how I was running an 'apartment' before it was vogue to do so. Tongue

34  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Missing Normal Eyeglasses, Customs Reflect Everything on: 2008 September 08, 05:22:30
Looks like you corrupted a basegame file or two. Overwrite your current basegame files with clean versions from your discs.
...\EA GAMES\The Sims 2\TSData\Res\Catalog\Materials\Materials.package
...\EA GAMES\The Sims 2\TSData\Res\Catalog\Skins\Skins.package

If you don't understand these directions, I have little hope for helping you further, but we can try.  Grin
35  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More Awful Than You! September: Not As Advertised on: 2008 September 08, 04:41:08
It's really a shame, because it's one of, like, two pigtails that actually hang down the back and not over the shoulders that I've ever been able to find.

Me too! I think next month's contest should be: Now why didn't a talented creator think of that? We can drag our most shameful shit from our downloads folder and sigh at the poor meshing and horrible texturing of a good idea.
ETA: Holy Jesus! It also does the bendy-pigtail dance!

Tempting me to make a bendy-pigtail dance video, eh? Well, bring on your poorly-animated, your weakly-converted (from other games), and starvin' chilluns, and I just might do it.  Cheesy

Edited because of grammerz nad spellinz
36  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: CS Items and Replacements - Now with More Stories Items on Second Page on: 2008 September 06, 22:07:03
No, phonehack wouldn't conflict. I haven't yet used the cash register, but I have used the shell phone and can confirm that it works. I have had no problems with both of these files in the same subfolder.
37  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More Awful Than You! September: Not As Advertised on: 2008 September 06, 21:43:21
Aw man. That Peggy hair makes mine look tame, but at I didn't even set out LOOKING for it; I found this while making some CAS sims. Pay Rose two-fifeh for:

Two main problems: This hair is binned in brown and uh-- yeah, those bangs.
Here's an 'as advertised' shot:

Why are there THREE blonds and one 'brown' (that's really purple?)

Edited to bring you a horrendous profile shot!
38  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: CS Basket on: 2008 August 31, 16:46:30
You might want to mention that with this in your game all the clothing piles get overriden with the castaway clothing pile. Is there a way to not have that happen?

No! Then the clothing tool isn't pretty anymore! Tongue

Seriously, however, it  would be a nice option.
39  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Apartment Life Borkiness, or how i ended the world in 1 hour. on: 2008 August 31, 04:36:13
Recolors for the photobooth and card table are broken. I know this because I downloaded several. Although I am not sure about the restaurant podium, seeing that I haven't built a community lot yet, nor download any recolors of the podium (since I have found 2 borked objects.)

Bah, they do that with the children's oven and a few other things with every stuff path recently. A new CEP will fix it.
40  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Dorm member Sims give lots of error messages on: 2008 August 31, 04:27:43
Doesn't romancemod throw out this error when other conflicting jealously mods are in your downloads folder?

Also, Hack Conflict Detector. www.simwardrobe.com > Sims 2 > Programs > Hack Conflict Detector. Run that and see what files are conflicting.
41  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Sims decide work is overrated. on: 2008 August 31, 04:24:37
Have you tried letting a Sim go to work at a different lot? As you describe the problem, it could be that whatever hack you used (specify, please) could have borked your lot.
42  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: CS Trees and Shrubs on: 2008 August 29, 19:13:07
Yay, Havelock! Thanks so much! For those of you unaware of its glory, here is a screenshot of the large 'Pongo' orangutan tree:

43  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: CS Trees and Shrubs on: 2008 August 28, 15:33:57
I really love the Orangutan tree, but does it throw up errors every Sim hour for anyone else? It's beautiful-- and I want to use it.  Cry

Edit: Thank you, Havelock. THIS is where I got the large Pongo tree. Like Pescado said, "Yeah, it looks like you did it wrong."
44  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Support the evil empire! Save a kittun! Give us money! on: 2008 August 20, 16:57:23
I would throw in extra just to have nekonoai's story pictures stored here to prevent excessive loading times and insane lag.
45  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Testers wanted: Instruments by proxy GUID [Update 8-17-08 2:15am] on: 2008 August 19, 22:22:01
* Kazzandra cheers wildly!
Wow. You did everything I normally use, AND gave me the method to do anything I might want in the future. I would have been happy to do the method myself, but Argon is awesome and I suck.

Watch did NOT ever work on those conga drums, if I remember correctly.

Please excuse the cognitive dissonance of the image, but as you can see, I updated the rest of Atavera's guitars to work with Argon's Instruments by proxy GUID hack. Go here to see the complete list of what's included; the acoustic instruments that Argon fixed are not included.

Download here.

Hack conflict will spit out a few errors involving these instruments due to the reset BHAV being shared, but being that these are the same BHAVs, I don't believe there is a cause for alarm. I have no errors while using them.

Edited out terrible spell check error.

09/21-- FIXED Yamaha guitar to correctly play in a group setting.
46  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Arrred games? on: 2008 August 18, 14:23:37
All I have to add to this is that Comodo, once trained, is highly efficient and only asks for input with installers. I have not had a single piece of malware (okay, to be fair, I've only had two during my usage of PCs, and one of them came from BastDawn's Sims1 site back in the day  Cheesy) since I have used it. Norton did let a trojan slip through and it was suck suck suckety suck. Norton should be boycotted like EA. Do not buy Norton suck.
47  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Car woohoo and invisible sims on: 2008 August 17, 16:03:19
We've been through this a zillion couple times before. Pull out riskywoohoo for cars. Sometimes, Sims fail to decloak after car wahoo! Delete and reload lot.

48  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: So, why do you suppose my sim can ONLY make evil toys? on: 2008 August 17, 04:22:43
The whole purpose of this was so that the damn family wouldn't have to bathe their pigpen dogs every damn day of life. I need functional Water Wigglers damnit!

Never wash your dog again. Only slightly cheaty.

There is no real difference between the evil and non-evil kites, except that the EVIL ONES LOOK MORE AWESOME. But I probably just think so because I'm a mean sim.

I prefer them as well. I have no idea what that means.  Cheesy
49  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Can't Get Pets to Like Each Other Enough to Breed on: 2008 August 15, 05:54:36
Scold for hostility towards others. There's only a short window of time that you can do this. I don't believe your Sims have to be in their pack or anything at all, really. After all, you can scold random wolfs and most certainly strays, IRRC.

If you're still having problems, I might screenshot the correct option for you next time I'm in game.
50  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Proper Life Stories conversions (Freetime) *up7 8-11-08 12:19pm on: 2008 August 15, 00:01:09
Ah-- thank you very much, Argon.

Very good to know that it's working in your game, because I can sniff elsewhere now. In fact, being that the hack itself hasn't been updated for Freetime, and they added that synthesizer, it only makes sense that the code has changed. It's odd that it is only the base-game piano and any of Atavera's instruments. I'll load up my test hood later with just Atavera's hack and see if the base game piano is still resetting. I wouldn't be surprised if it is simply that.

They change the code on the base-game piano with every patch, and I know this was working with patch one-- so I immediately suspected the LS guitar because it was the only thing I'd added recently.

ETA: ls_guitarplay is meant for Atavera's hack, not mine. Do not mix and match. RTFM on page 1.
Well, I'm embarrassed enough as it is, but I will say that I mentioned in a different post that I did RTFM. But being less stupid than I seem is hardly consoling.

Side note: the reason other custom instruments blow up with instrument by proxy guid hack is likely because the init bhav makes reference to a non-existant bcon ("custom instrument" category) in Atavera's hack or because they changed the reference to the original EAxis instrument that it was cloned from. If you absolutely can't live without an instrument, I can see about updating it to work with that.

It's just the acoustic guitar and the contrabass. The rest are for guitar virtuosos, but anyone who wants music in a hood set in the past has to stick with the violin-- before we didn't even have that. I don't want to give you any more work than I already have, though.

I'll report back in this post the results of my test with nothing but Atavera's hack and the base game piano.

ETA: Either my core files are corrupted,  or Atavera's custom instrument hack causes dancing to stop working on the base-game piano in Patch three, Freetime. Little to no chance that anyone noticed but me.  Cheesy
