2276  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: The Email Challenge...Because Those Other Challenges Are Boring And For Wusses! on: 2005 November 20, 02:31:32
Well, Pescado has died - in permanant platinum, and as a cranky old curmudgeon.  May he rest in peace.  Well, not peace, but he better not be as bitter a ghost as he was a Sim.
2277  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I need some clothing-Can you help me? on: 2005 November 20, 02:13:45
I will definitely second the recommendation for All About Style. If you're short on time or don't know where to start, try there. They don't have a huge amount of clothes like some of the bigger sites, but all their stuff is well done and tasteful and they have stuff for neglected groups like men and elders. As Blue pointed out, they also have Victorian and other period piece clothing as well.

I think they have a great selection; I also love their accessories section.  I love earrings for my Sims, so I definitely "shop" there.

One more thing about these sites - all of them are free (or have free sections).  Grin

Thanks for posting that link again, Kingdom.  I love that site too

Oooh, that's great.  Since my reinstall, I am re-downloading stuff, and I would love to be able to be even more anal about my organization than before!
2281  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: No LTW when growing to teen...anyone else seen this bug? on: 2005 November 19, 20:29:29
I think it sucks - my Romance Sim went from Woohoo with 20 different Sims to have 20 Simultaneous lovers.  As I had never gotten the Woohoo one, I wanted to keep it.  Plus, I like making the Romance Sim fight with her lovers later, and I can't do that if I want them to remain in love, lol.
2282  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Does this mean what I think it means? on: 2005 November 19, 20:27:09
Vancouver Island?  Where do you live?  I live in Victoria...
2283  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: No LTW when growing to teen...anyone else seen this bug? on: 2005 November 19, 19:45:30
I have had that happen a few times, actually.

I saved and exited to the neighbourhood, and then went back in and the LTW was shown.  The first two Sims, however, re-rolled LTW's the next time I opened the game, and came up with completely different LTW's!

The third Sim has kept his original LTW, and his showed right away.  Funnily enough, this third Sim was after a fresh install, with no patch in the game...
2284  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Old Grandma Hardcore on: 2005 November 18, 22:27:38
ROTFLMAO!!!!  I think that Grandma is my momma!!!   Wink  And yes, JMP, she's single.  But I sure as Hell don't want you for a step-daddy!!!!

I don't know, I probably shouldn't admit this, but JM sounds so much like my dad that if my dad was even close to awesome on computers, I'd be checking his for Sims.

He's a little like my dad as well, except my dad has all his hair, and no beard.  Also, my dad doesn't do computers, but the orneriness (?) is the same.
2285  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Safe to rename? on: 2005 November 18, 15:23:50
Last thing I heard, you could only have folders two-deep.  So, you could have the Downloads folder, then objects, then furniture.  Or whatever.

Has it changed with Nightlife?
2286  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I am trying to give you money on: 2005 November 17, 18:54:47

Thanks for the heads up, to those of you who answered my inquiry nicely,   and to the rest.... Tongue

You'll find yourself taking that attitude from time to time here...lol
No biggie, it was meant to be a little confusing.

Maybe it's my Retardo Land roots showing.... Tongue
2287  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Are we better to install the Nightlife patch if we use hacks/mods? on: 2005 November 17, 18:54:09
I don't play Uni (is any game more boring than that one?), so I never had any of the bugs associated with the Greek house, etc.  As for the huge amount of character files, I don't think I've ever made it past 200 in any of the neighbourhoods I've ever had.  The other, minor annoyances were all easily taken care of with hacks.

I'm interested in hearing what the pros say as well.
2288  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I am trying to give you money on: 2005 November 17, 18:38:15
The only thing that makes me laugh about this question is not that someone was willing to pay the $40 (didn't it go up for the addition of Crammyboy?), but that someone made it past the first page and still asked the question.
2289  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Are we better to install the Nightlife patch if we use hacks/mods? on: 2005 November 17, 18:36:47
I replied in the other thread, Missdoh, about the patch.
2290  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The NL Patch on: 2005 November 17, 18:35:08
I did play without the patch for a long time, and I did play with the patch for a while as well.  I don't play my game involved enough, or long enough, to have noticed much of a difference either way.  Right now, I am not planning to play with the patch, although I probably will install it again at some time in the future.
2291  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I am trying to give you money on: 2005 November 17, 15:57:55
For a minute there, I thought I wandered into RL.  My mistake.
2292  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Who's getting the x-mas pack? on: 2005 November 16, 22:35:16
Right now, being in Canada, there is pretty much nothing they can offer me in this holiday pack that will make me want to buy it.  I can't justify spending $25 (or whatever, after the exchange rate) on some objects.  If I wanted to spend my money on new stuff for my Sims, I would buy a subscription to a pay-site, because at least I can get my money's worth, with the sheer volume of items available on some of those sites.

Plus, I know I will be able to get all this stuff for free from others who do buy it.
2293  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Who's getting the x-mas pack? on: 2005 November 16, 19:35:59
A couple of weeks after the hotrod got uploaded to the exchange, I noticed that slowly they were all going away.  I doubt it was the creators removing them, unless they were told to officially.  I bet it will be the same with this - the quicker you are to download the lot, the better chance you have of getting it.  What are they going to do - sue some 10-year-old kid for uploading that stuff?
2294  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Does this mean what I think it means? on: 2005 November 16, 19:25:14
Whee!  I can't wait for all the shiny new hacks!  And the Internet at home so I can download them all!
2295  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Hi all on: 2005 November 16, 14:58:54
Hi.  Welcome.  Smiley
2296  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The NL Patch on: 2005 November 16, 00:24:34
Potty training glitch - I didn't keep it with the patch installed....hmm...

Nice to see you too, Gaby.  Smiley
2297  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nightlife and Twins on: 2005 November 15, 22:35:38
I only ever had one set of twins pre-Nightlife, and I've not had any since Nightlife.  Not that I'm complaining, though.  I had two babies born at the same time (regular and alien), and it was a nightmare.  That demon alien child was horrible!
2298  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How much is too much on: 2005 November 15, 22:33:58
No, it's completely gone.  I uninstalled the game manually, and reinstalled.
2299  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The NL Patch on: 2005 November 15, 22:31:49
I sort of feel the same way - I reinstalled the game, and now I don't have the patch anymore.  I never had a huge problem with the game beforehand though, and I had a lot of hacks from Pescado that probably prevented my game from being a LFBVFS.

Once I had the patch installed, I still noticed a few glitches with the game, mostly with the cars and some new NL features.  To me (someone who doesn't play large neighbourhoods or families), it wasn't worth it, and I would rather have the potty training glitch (it seemed almost impossible to get a toddler trained with the patch).
2300  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How much is too much on: 2005 November 15, 16:18:43
I just reinstalled, and I forgot to remove the downloads folder, so now I have none.  I did have some hacks that were still in the recycle bin, so I restored and reinstalled those.

*sniff*
