The beard will be white when he's old.  Wink

First try - Both Sims peed themselves and Minion went into aspiration failure.  She was pregnant at the time.

Second try - Minion peed herself, and Pescado made fun of me.

Third try - I made the Sims more to J.M.'s specifications, and so far, so good.  Grin

Edit:  J.M. is now the proud and doting (okay, maybe not doting) father of daughter Hellion.  Grin

I have completely sucked at this challenge thus far.

My founder, J.M. Pescado, and his wife Minion, are pictured here:

Oh, I will absolutely do a story  Grin

I'll link it when I have something.  I can't believe no one has beaten this challenge - I'll do my best (although I have a feeling I might suck).

I'm going to attempt this challenge - I've been rather uninspired with my legacy lately.

Blue, question about custom terrains.  I didn't know about the terrains causing crashes when deleted like most simmers until after I had used a few.  If I manually go house to house and cover the custom terrains with Maxi's terrains, will that make it so that I can delete the custom stuff without making my lots unplayable?

I don't think so, mythchick.  Once it's on the lot (even when you manually remove the terrain) it seems to "stick there," for lack of a better word. After I removed the terrain from the Downloads folder, I was never able to fix it with the 2 lots I tried to upload, and I tried it three different ways, probably about 10 different times.

And I tried to package the lot to a file too, and that didn't work either.

Oh yes, I remember some stuff now. I also hate custom terrains, and don't install them anyway.  They cause too many problems in my game.

And I like a nicely landscaped yard as well, even if it's on regular Maxis grass.
2382  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Preferrable Houses on: 2005 September 30, 03:37:04
It depends on the house, whether I want it furnished or not.

If it's furnished, I want CC.  I don't want to download a house full of Maxis furniture - I could do that myself.
2383  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: So what's been fixed in NL on: 2005 September 14, 04:06:48
On individual wants, I've sometimes noticed that 'nested' wants for lack of a better term don't always pick up.

For example, a particularly loving couple of mine will both have the want to 'kiss' and 'make out' with eachother.  I tell them to make out, and only the 'kiss' want is met.  Telling them to again make out sometimes meets the want, and sometimes doesn't.

Oddness.

I've had that one too.

Also, something I noticed with the refrigerator not being able to be selected to make anything other than Instant Meals, which seems to happen if the Sim is out of the room, or behind a diagonally placed door. It makes it very difficult to queue up actions, and if you have a large household, this can make managing it difficult.  What has fixed it for me in the past is making my Sim walk into the room with the fridge, then selecting a food option. Sometimes that doesn't work, and I can have them check the food supply, then try it again, and it works.

Edited for clarity and spelling.

Kmlough's bug list.  I just reinstalled the entire game anyway.  And I definitely won't be using custom terrains anymore - it seemed to cause nothing but problems from the time I used it.

The thing of it is, I want to reinstall the game.

But, I shall admit something right now - I removed the disk, and then it worked fine to delete the folder.  Tongue Embarrassed

(Told ya I was a technical idiot)

And what if you don't have a TSData file in Progams/EA Games/The Sims 2 Huh

I admit, I am a technical moron, and I deleted my neighbourhoods from inside the game.  Now, I want them all back, and I tried to delete the Sims 2 folder so they would regenerate when I started the game again, but it won't let me delete it. It says the Storytelling folder is being used by another program (it's not) and instructs me to close that first.

The house is one that I built, after the Uni installation. I play the house all the time and I can enter the lot with no problems.

I set all of the Sims hair, clothes, etc. back to Maxis-made, still didn't work.

I tried to package the lot to a file and the game still crashed.  It was indicated to me that it was a problem with custom terrains (a known bug from Kmlough's list - #94 or #98 I believe), and in my situation not repairable.  I did remove all of the terrain on the lot (it was a custom, gone over with a Maxis terrain) and tried again - still no dice.

I eventually moved the family to a different lot and uploaded them fine.  The point wasn't to get the lot uploaded, it was for the family, and now I begin the long process of rebuilding the lot and resurrecting the dead for the gravestones.

I have that hack in my lot, but I am a little unsure as to which option I should be using. I only downloaded it the other night, so I have yet to really play around with it.
2389  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Attempting to upload one lot crashes the game on: 2005 August 25, 02:47:56
I've been trying to upload a lot in my game for awhile now. Every time I try to upload it, it tells me that the application has terminated and the game crashes.
I've previously uploaded the same lot before (different house on the lot) and it worked fine. I can play the lot just fine.

Tonight, I tried to upload the lot again, and I put all of the Sims back to default make-up, hairstyles and clothes first. I tried it again - no dice.

Then I removed the downloads folder, and tried again. Still not working.

Any advice you could give me would be awesome, as I really want to upload this lot
2390  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: "Instant Meal" bug? on: 2005 August 20, 05:00:02
I get this happening all the time in my Legacy lot.

If my Sims are in another room when I try to queue them to make a meal, it will sometimes only come up with the Instant Meal option.  As soon as they are in the same room, I can click on the fridge again and it's fine.  I can also have them check the food levels first, and then click on the fridge again and all the options are there.

A lot of the time they are in one of the bathrooms, which both have diagonal doors, so I tested that and moved them to the bedroom which has straight doors, and I have the same problem.

I don't know what the deal is, I only know it's yet another bug for Maxis to fix.
