201  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Macro Control: Macrotastics on: 2008 April 26, 11:32:24
A problem with macro/creativity & the shiny expensive computer, to wit, I keep getting a move-out screen instead of the novel design screen when using the gain creativity macro.

I removed all computer-related hacks to test it out, then tested said computer type by clicking on it & selecting 'write novel' and the novel design screen came up as usual.

I do have the buyable humble computer/anti-humble hack combo.

I have the skillinator updated 12 April 08 & the macrotastics updated 31 March 08.

I also have limited wrist-strength for play-testing so if you need more information, please be very specific.

It's in a different submenu - fix, iirc.
203  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: All About Style? on: 2008 April 22, 15:36:26
No. you're not mad, there was even a post on the site warning about files going missing during upgrades & for people not to fret as they'd be back soon.
204  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Adding textures for making custom clothes on sewing machine, is it possible? on: 2008 April 20, 18:37:00
ah, but is that including custom clothes, or just the stuff that comes with the game?
205  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Adding textures for making custom clothes on sewing machine, is it possible? on: 2008 April 20, 17:33:35
I haven't really tried the sewing machine yet. From what I'm reading it appears that using it to sew clothes does nothing so much as fill up your closet with really ugly unlockable maxis clothes.

Dammit, I was hoping it'd actually be cool. At least tell me my sims can sew what's already in the game if they so choose?
206  TS2: Burnination / The War Room / Re: Free Time Facts And Learnings on: 2008 April 20, 17:27:26
I agree, it would be nice to have a Wish Death On... one, or something of the sort.

WANT!

This is me smiling on the inside.
208  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Bathroom Controller: In Soviet Russia, Bathroom Uses You! on: 2008 April 13, 15:53:00
I didn't claim they died from this. Read again. I claimed they pissed me off & I killed them myself. Big difference.

Actually, I do have an answer of sorts for you. The sims doing this are adult male plant sims who were made so, not born so. It occurs in shower/toilet combos. Actually, half the time visiting plants hog the bathroom pacing in front of the shower trying to get in & bouncing off. No error messages are coming up, of course. That would just be helpful.

Upon making the sim in question selectable, I order his dessicated green butt out of the bathroom & cancel all queues. When he tries to re-enter the bathroom, it is usually at the directive of buy, but not always. Sometimes he'll decide to go in himself, and THAT'S when he gets bounced out of the bathroom.

I haven't noticed it with female plants, but I only have one in game & she appears to be housebound.

Some information which may or may not prove helpful: The bathrooms in question all have either the cheapest shower or the cheapest bath/shower combo, the cheapest toilet, a basin & buy. All rooms are at least 3x3 squares, because traffic flow problems in bathrooms fuck me off.
209  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Bathroom Controller: In Soviet Russia, Bathroom Uses You! on: 2008 April 13, 14:10:00
Can something be done about plant sims (visiting or resident) getting stuck in a perpetual loop of 'must use shower/must be evicted', please? It's not so much the sims deciding they're dehydrated & need a drink as much as buy seeking an almost, but not quite at half-watered plant sim, yoinking it into the bathroom, only to kick it out/force it to wait.

As much as I am enjoying killing off the plants that annoy me this way, it really isn't their fault, and I'm swiftly running out of sims.
210  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: No CD Crack for Seasons? on: 2008 April 13, 02:00:19
Did you get the no-cd craked exe, or the iso?

Is it for the patched version of seasons?

Did you put it in the right place?

Did you create a shortcut that points to the craked exe (if that's what you downloaded)?

This is your checklist. For safer usage of the no-cd cracks, follow the instructions that come with the download, then do whatever fancy stuff you would normally do. Also make sure you're actually downloading what you think you're downloading.
211  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Children's workout cloths on: 2008 April 13, 00:49:41
Wouldn't terry-towelling be considered exercise cloth?

Ooooh oooh ooh, can I put in a request for the "sparkly pink kittens bouncing on cotton candy trampolines" suggested by Zazazu?
212  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: HARDER Harder Jobs, Please! on: 2008 April 10, 12:49:05
It is difficult, though not impossible, to resurrect a crappy painting. It is, however, extremely unlikely it will be anything above mediocre when you do so. Most often the best option is to re-prime it & start again, else it's wiser to just grab a new board or canvas & start from the ground up.
213  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Pirate Ghost on: 2008 April 10, 02:03:05
It's pretty much the same as an adult but without the puddle. The constant whining & crying makes you wish you had a smite option useable on the purelie creatures.
214  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Seasonal Age Project: RFC (Request For Comments) on: 2008 April 06, 06:39:55
it sounds interesting, and it looks like you've taken care of all the external factors. But how well does it play with ACR? Have you tested it with custom careers? How does uni fit into all of this?

Don't get me wrong, I am very, VERY interested in this hack, but I am also very hesitant adding something to my precariously balanced hacks without knowing how it's going to play with the big ones I can't live without.
215  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What are the differences between zombies and normal sims? on: 2008 April 04, 02:05:40

Back before I found out about the wonderful world of hacks, I had an alien abduction in the middle of the day - my first actually.

So if they were wrong about the abduction times....

I can't say I've ever had an abduction from the cheap telescope either, but then until I hacked my game silly I only ever had that one midday abduction.

if you have a fixed version, please upload. Cheesy Actually, Monique had that problem with her version sometimes too, so don't fret too much. Cheesy

Well I got my "wonky" lot to work with ctp by changing levels (floors?) while on that lot. I don't know if that will help for you though. I assume you've run the hcdu to verify that it's not conflicting and that you haven't downloaded the seasons version by mistake?
224  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bork List: Freetime Ed. on: 2008 March 31, 13:19:08
when I looked at them the first time I thought they were just telescope recolours by the way they were named, then I saw the '5x' and '10x' on the file names & realised this was the source of my problem. It may not be the source of yours, but be aware that I didn't pick it up on a search for abduction-related hacks.

That's because you keep yelling at anyone who signs up with a variant upon your name.
