201  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Custom Loading Screens, again. on: 2010 October 11, 03:57:31
Only guessing here, but I think the point might be to make custom loading screens. This is all just speculation though.
202  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Where to find GOOD custom worlds? on: 2010 October 10, 15:27:11
Whatever. It's a legitimate complaint. The downtown looks like shit, they didn't think about the placement of the actual lots at all, and because they loaded it with sidewalks there's barely anything you can do about it unless you absolutely love going around building stupid sized lots from scratch with no room for non-hideous rabbit hole lots.
203  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Where to find GOOD custom worlds? on: 2010 October 08, 20:47:23
The thing is, the old town LOOKS salvageable, but it isnt.

They put sidewalks. Everywhere. Around every fucking lot. So you can't customize the area at all, you're stuck with the lot sizes (the extremely, extremely unconventional lot sizes) they used to begin with.

The downtown is laid out as if they didn't spend even half a minute thinking about it and there's pretty much nothing you can do about it.
204  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: CAW makes my computer scream. on: 2010 October 05, 00:02:36
What exactly did I say to elicit that response?

Oh, right. Nothing.
205  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / CAW makes my computer scream. on: 2010 October 04, 21:54:51
Something in there, a fan maybe, just goes crazy when I'm running CAW. As if I'm playing a taxing video game and all my computer's resources are dedicated to it. Any idea why or how to stop it?
206  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Changing Water Murkiness on: 2010 October 03, 20:54:09
I've been trying to alter the murkiness of water so that it only starts to get dark at a much deeper...depth.

http://modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=388840&goto=newpost

By editing the ini files, just like with changing the color.

But like before, it still doesn't seem to do *anything*. Does anyone have any idea why? Has anyone else tried this?

Sometimes before a lot fully loads you can see the land under the water, and it looks much nicer than not being able to see into the water at all. I'd prefer to adjust the "murkiness" with textures.
207  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Pudding Factory is for downloads: put your lame requests & WCIFs here on: 2010 September 24, 17:59:54
Women are apparently stupid as all hell, too, judging by your complete failure to get the point.

Let me break it down:

Poster 1: Why do people want teen WHORE mods?!!?!
Poster 2: Sex doesnt make someone a whore
Poster 1: ALL I'M SAYING is WAY TOO MANY TEENS get PRAGNENT and they should STOP DOING THAT (but sex is okay)
Me: Because pregnancy is, after all, intentional 100% of the time
Women of MATY: rabble rabble rabble self righteous cunts out the ass how dare you seriously imply that pregnancy doesn't happen by accident and women aren't people, I'm going to go be ugly in front of a hooters because I hate pretty women
208  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Pudding Factory is for downloads: put your lame requests & WCIFs here on: 2010 September 24, 05:43:01
You guys are being weird lately. It seems in every single topic someone is getting such an enormous erection at the thought of making a post where they get to feel smart that they don't bother to think.

None of you could understand that was a sarcastic response to All I'm saying is they should not get preggers like so many of them do?

209  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Pudding Factory is for downloads: put your lame requests & WCIFs here on: 2010 September 24, 05:11:17
Pregnancy: Always intentional.
210  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Question About Order of Installation & Patching on: 2010 September 24, 05:01:07
Yes, that was already covered by at least TWO OTHER PEOPLE jamming their egos in and out of a tub of vaseline, thank you.
211  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Where to find GOOD custom worlds? on: 2010 September 24, 02:12:32
I think even the BBSers would be appalled by your inability to read. I suggest you re-read the title of this section.

Thank you for coming all the way in from the year 2000 to tell us about it.

The fun part of these posts is that both of you are making fun of them for posting Sims 1 stuff in the Sims 3 forum, as if they cannot read, but they are referring to the Sims 1 world FOR THE SIMS 3 posted within the link. The best kind of irony is self-righteousness that leads to self-ownage. Inability to read indeed, dumbasses. Did you miss what the last few posts were about? Hint: They were discussing a Sims 1 hood remake.

Though there's still a clear reading problem- as the one they posted is the one I said I want an alternative to.
212  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: CAW: Making Lots In-Game on: 2010 September 23, 06:01:36
uh

instead of counting squares, you COULD use the built-in-by-default-regardless-of-your-CAW-settings, absolutely-no-excuse-for-not-using-it in-CAW thing in the corner which tells you exactly how many squares your lot is.
213  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: The TS3 Store: post your questions, updates, and tech help here on: 2010 September 23, 04:46:16
The world's okay. It has a lot of campground lots, and lots of the parks are "unincorporated", that is to say they don't have edges and look like they're built into the landscape. There are some cute houses too.

The color of the beaches...is actually my biggest problem with it, it's ugly as hell.
214  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: The TS3 Store: post your questions, updates, and tech help here on: 2010 September 23, 04:12:34
Oh, I was just curious. I'm excited for the world.

There's tons of bitching and moaning on MS3B that it's "too plain" and "too expensive"(they're all going to pirate it anyway so what the fuck do they care?), but I can guarantee you it'll be solidly put together.
215  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: The TS3 Store: post your questions, updates, and tech help here on: 2010 September 23, 03:54:00
Are the objects and clothes included as part of the world, or are they a separate file?

I know there was already a pirate pack but I am sure it didn't include the pirate ship rabbit hole or anything.
216  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Memory issues on: 2010 September 22, 04:36:58
Large Address Aware and using CFF Explorer to allow more than 2GB of ram usage are the exact same thing.

Your "solution" was "do what you've already done, but in a different way".
217  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Question About Order of Installation & Patching on: 2010 September 22, 01:56:29
Not exactly seeing how glitches with a new expansion pack have anything to do with being too stupid to think for half a second.
218  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Question About Order of Installation & Patching on: 2010 September 22, 01:30:59
If you're so worried about install order, why would you install them in any order other than the order they came out? Are you retarded?
219  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Where to find GOOD custom worlds? on: 2010 September 21, 22:13:10
I'm not going to register an account and wait two days for someone to approve it to see that thread.
220  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Memory issues on: 2010 September 21, 16:58:18
Over on Microsoft's site, there are the commands to make your OS Large Address Aware.

If you have up to 4G of ram (which I think should be the mimimum to play Sims3),
there's a utility over on MTS that will make the game Large Address Aware without violating the EA's TOS.

A bit of searching on both sites will help keep your game from crashing from memory shortages.

You simply need to remember to turn off LAA before you add another EP/SP and/or patch your game, then turn it back on before you play.

The Patch Downloader tool at MTS also includes an option to set your game to LAA.

Now i've found a way to avoid that horrible crash with CFF Explorer by making the .exe file use well over 2GB of RAM and these crashes no longer occur while playing.

Did any of the Sims 1 neighborhoods ever get finished?

I know one was, but the creator took massive personal liberties with the way it looked, and it was not generally well-recieved because of that. I had one I was making that I was in love with, and it even had all the proper lot sizes. But CAW corrupted it. :\

Edit- woop, I guss it wasnt as poorly received as I thought.

http://mysims3blog.blogspot.com/2010/07/sims-1-unleashed-hood-recreated-for.html

Mostly people reacted to "They made it different..." with "they HAD TO because RABBIT HOLES!!!!". Somehow "new stuff in the sims 3" even manages to justify different road layouts, however that works, and Robodl rears his functionally retarded head to note that "the original only had 12 lots", clearly being a few pages behind the rest of us.

Whatever, it took liberties. Are there any out there that didn't?
222  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Where to find GOOD custom worlds? on: 2010 September 20, 18:18:02
I've tried, but I lose all inspiration really quickly. I am too lazy to actually plan a world, and things I make don't look right when planned, so it just doesn't work.

In The Sims 2 I'd actually take a 20x30 lot and build two homes on it, essentially making two 20x15 lots (before custom lot sizes came around), and I'd pack the town full of houses like that. I loved how it looked to look down the street and see all these little houses in close quarters. Maybe I could do this to sunset valley or something, removing all the existing lots and adding in nothing but 20x15 or 20x20 lots.
223  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Reinstallation causing missing files on: 2010 September 20, 18:15:58
Double-check the install directory to make sure that the game is actually deleting these files when you uninstall. Sometimes a modified file, whether modified by the game itself or not (patch), will stay behind after uninstall because the game thinks its your custom file and it has no right to delete it.

That, or try installing in a different directory.
224  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Red World on: 2010 September 15, 22:20:05
Then do it already.
225  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Red World on: 2010 September 15, 21:24:48
dude, fucking hell

REINSTALL means "uninstall everything and RE-INSTALL"

Not "Uninstall fast lane".
