151  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How to stop AL respawns? on: 2009 August 31, 23:10:18
You can't put nine families in it anyway - the maximum is four.

Maximum number of playable families is 4.  You can have a lot of non-playable apartments.

Just a quick hello, here's my house in progress. I'm in a fairy tale mood. Wink

What a beautiful house!  I'm looking forward to seeing the finished lot.

I must say that I think the submissions this month have been really good.

Chobeegal - I really like the use of the M&G roof at ground level intermixed with normal walls so that you can get a better view with walls down. They look really nice as corner supports!

I agree, the M&G roof at ground level is really interesting and unique.  How unfortunate that the game doesn't properly drop those walls with the "walls and roofs down" option during gameplay.

I'm looking for age conversion meshes for the following items, if anyone knows where to find them please let me know.

You want a WCIF ("where can I find ...?") thread, instead of hijacking this store thread.

chobeegal, please stop responding so defensively.  You have agreed to take constructive criticism.  If you are not willing to do this, then you should not be participating in this challenge.

How do you know when a lot is a beautiful vista? I thought all the ones near the beach and on the hill were. Does that vary?

I only know of one way to determine whether a lot has a beautiful vista: move a sim into the lot and see whether they have the moodlet.

Beautiful vistas are easy to destroy and impossible (at this time) to get back.  The easiest way to remove a beautiful vista is to destroy the lot from the neighborhood view.  You can also destroy them by packaging a lot, and by installing a lot from the lot bin.

Since this neighborhood was created with downloaded lots, I'm going to guess that the beautiful vistas are all gone.
159  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: which patch needed for AM? on: 2009 August 22, 18:20:33
You can use either 1.3 or 1.4, since there were no core differences between the two patches.
160  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: question about the death of a Chosen sim, when the family wasn't being playe on: 2009 August 22, 01:04:56
Have you installed the swesome mod? You won't feel that way if you install the mod. For me, with the addition of the awesome mod, I am the one driving the story. When I stop playing a family for a while and then begin playing them again, things are basically as they were when I left them, except that their food is spoiled and one of them is off talking to someone in town. If you haven't installed the mod, you should, because you will feel like you're playings sims the way you used to.

I've been playing with AwesomeMod, but I can't agree that it makes TS3 feel like TS2.  I can hardly bring myself to play TS3, but I still love TS2.
161  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Awesomemod not working for me on: 2009 August 22, 00:43:50
I have awesome mod installed and can get the command list from ShowConfig but no matter what I set the NoNudityCensoeF to I still get the fuzzy boxes covering my Sims. Anyone know why?

You have not installed AwesomeMod correctly.  If you had, then showconfig would work.
162  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: EAxis House of Phail: August 2009 on: 2009 August 21, 21:18:41
I agree with Prosthetics; chill out!

chobeegal & Honeywell, couldn't you take your argument to RetardoLand and leave this thread for houses and comments on the houses?  Whether people like plants in real life is irrelevant to TS2:

My one great complaint w/ Sims2 is that if I actually put as much "landscaping" into a Sims lot as I would like to have in RL, it makes the house totally unplayable.
163  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: question about the death of a Chosen sim, when the family wasn't being played on: 2009 August 20, 23:54:10
Turning off aging doesn't stop a lot of things from happening.  For example, the food will spoil regardless of aging; unplayed sims will still go off-lot, to school, to work, to the park.  There doesn't seem to be any way to get your unplayed sims to just freeze until you are ready to play them again, the way that they did in TS2.
164  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is it safe to move maxis pre-placed lots? on: 2009 August 20, 23:34:03
I'd love to see the BFBVFS list.  I'm not sure that I know all of them.
165  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is it safe to move maxis pre-placed lots? on: 2009 August 20, 17:29:35
Yes, it's safe.

167  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: deconstructing the 1am freeze on: 2009 August 17, 02:07:34
How are managing to have the house name automatically become the same as the household name?  Do you have a mod that renames the house to match the name of the household?

It's not automatic; you have to rename the house yourself.
168  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. on: 2009 August 14, 21:33:00
Did you delete your caches?  They can contain temporary copies of your CC, which are used even when you've deleted all of your mods.

You say that the crash started when you updated "it".  What did you update, AwesomeMod?  Is your game patched to 1.3 or 1.4?
169  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: help please? on: 2009 August 14, 21:00:39
ok so i included supreme commander in the .package and didnt see anything new when clicking on my sim. same goes for ctrl+click not living with me.  curiously, i also cannont type "showconfig"  it says it is an unknown command.

As far as I know, this means that you haven't installed AwesomeMod correctly; possibly you haven't installed the framework correctly.  I wouldn't worry about your AM configuration until you can get a reasonable response from showconfig:

Sounds like you didn't configure the mod to get special options you are looking for. Go back to the download page
170  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Random Deaths in TS3 on: 2009 August 14, 19:11:13
Yeah, but it means as soon as I switch to awesomestory, I have to spend however long editing all my neighborhoods. I don't even know half the sims that live in the one I play now - the family is rather isolationist. I don't particularly find renovating houses fun, compared to just playing the damn game. And every new game I do, I have to edit everything again! At least for that I can download a ready-made hood.

Try this:

171  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. on: 2009 August 14, 18:52:40
some mentioned that the ones in our mod folder are only backups...where is the real files?

Whoever told you this is incorrect; the files in your Mods folder are the real files.
172  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: The Wrath of Pescado? on: 2009 August 13, 19:23:11
And do the above mentioned traits ever get assigned to sims under given circumstances, or can they only be given by Addtrait ?

Mostly, they are tied to the names of people on this site.
173  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Phoned Home? on: 2009 August 13, 05:57:21
.mdmp is a mini-dump file and is generated by a crash.  Sounds like your launcher is crashing when installing CC.

Have you tried installing your CC via another program, like Delphy's multi-installer, rather than through the launcher?

When dealing with EA, being paranoid is probably a good thing.  Ever since they infested my machine with SecuROM, I don't trust them.
174  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: View and Rename Files? on: 2009 August 13, 05:49:46
Renaming them is the simple part.  Determining what each package contains is more difficult.  The best way to be organized is to rename the package as soon as you install, since you're likely to know what it is at that time.  However, if you've already got a lot of CC, it's more difficult.  I just used S3PE to examine all of my packages and rename them, but it's a tedious process.  Does anyone know of a program which will make it easier to identify a package?
175  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: New EP & still no Hood Editor! on: 2009 August 11, 18:34:52
HoodReplace wasn't a neighborhood editor, though... it just allows you to copy neighborhood elements between two different TS2 hoods.
