Not bad, LaLa! Smiley
102  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Can't finish Omniplant Opportunity on: 2009 June 14, 17:52:28
The omniplant can be found at the Science Center in Sunset Valley (or whatever), but I haven't found it growing anywhere in Riverview, and haven't gotten the opportunity yet to get seeds for it. Has anyone found it in RV yet?
103  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Singing in the shower on: 2009 June 14, 05:34:42
The only noise I take issue with is a random doorbell sound that occurs when your Sim is at home busily skilling or bustling about. It sounds just like the neighbors' default doorbells. I've scrolled to look at the front porch several times.
104  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Removing multiple items from inventory on: 2009 June 13, 14:37:54
With newspapers, I've been able to click the drag all triangle to sell them with no problem.

i discovered the problem: he was busily adding to the newspaper pile, which made it as unusable as a stack of veggies or fish that are queued to be planted or used to fertilize (can't drag stack into fridge or sell stack until they are planted/used or until you cancel that action).

Trash piles are a bit different, but not as bad as what you've described.  At home, I can click that triangle and drag it to her trash can, but it only drops one at a time.  However it stays lit up and I just keep clicking until the trash disappears.

Yes. But this is a pain if your Sim bin-dives 12 homes and returns with 75+ trash piles.

I've found two Zucabr rocks, and that's the only way I've been able to find them.  Other than that, I found a pink diamond and it seems that everyone on the "rich" block throws out their SimLife goggles because she's found four pairs now.  Seeds and bits of produce (ranging from putrid to perfect) are occasional bits, but the teddybears, candles, bubble baths and rubber duckys are fairly common.

Why Sims bother to work, I don't know, unless trash-digging is unavailable to unemployed Sims. You can eat fruit / veg / fish for free (and plant seeds at the community garden, apparently), trash-dig for collectibles / goods to sell, level up at the library, paint at the gallery, work out at the gym, swim at tthe communuty pool, etc.

The Zucabr rocks like the big fields, esp. the ones with the windmills. I've never found one in a flowered field or under a tree or in a stone circle or near a mine. But they like the bins a LOT more. I have now found four pink diamonds in the bins, two more Zucabr rocks, plus a rainbow gem. Rich people bins seem to yield more gems; this may be coincidence.

Does anyone else actually ever let their Sim keep any of this stuff?

I sell it because I have a surplus of the stuff. When I get a full set of vendor trash (I need four more pinks and three more rainbow), I'll hold on to the rares, and stash them uncut in the foundation and hope for future usefulness. I sell the other uncuts. I am swimming in annoying gnomes and DNW more. I am not motivated to insect hunt any more, now that I have both sets in full, but will occasionally mistake those damn silver skippers or yellow metalmarks for zebras and then sell them to the sci center.

I'd keep more candles if I could adjust their wax colour or light cast colour (like lamps) or ANYTHING. The "it's been in the trash" would only apply in real life; I'm not bothered by using trash bubbles or duckies in a game. No actual cooties. But we all play in different ways.
105  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Stupid Opportuni-teez on: 2009 June 13, 11:37:19
I have the opposite sensation of desiring more quests, but I will look into it. I mean, YAY, A QUEST! Now if only the GOOD ones would show up more.

I am also a slave-driving puppetmaster, and rarely get any opportunities...possibly because my Sims skill up faster than opportunities generate. I have been gardener lvl 10 for several Simweeks and have yet to get the Omni Plant Challenge from the stupid cafe. Anyway, I'd like MOAR opportunities.
106  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Removing multiple items from inventory on: 2009 June 13, 10:37:46
Well, there's two things that don't respond to the "drag all at once" triangle, unless I've got a bug.

If your Sim rummage in neighbors' bins, you can get some good stuff, but you'll also get upteen piles of trash (plus a bad moodlet until they are removed) and recycle-only newspaper trash. I wasn't able to sell them in bulk (or at all), or drag them en masse to the home bin. I have to remove the newspaper stack and trash stack one by one, which is a pain in the butt.

Also, rewards can be huge, or annoyingly small. My first trip rummaging, I found THREE pink diamonds. Second trip, two Sim Life goggles and a Gigantic (Zucabr) Space Rock. Usually I get a jillion teddy bears, candles, bubble baths and fair-to-poor quality produce and seeds (most of which are very common, not uncommon or rare, and I've never found a special harvestable in a bin).

Dragging the piles of trash one by one to the home bin is a pain in the rear.

I want TO RAAAAAAGE! *Hits wife*

PROTIP: "Jokes" about spousal abuse / battery are not considered particularly funny. Most people's minds would not even begin to go there when attempting to insert "levity" into a post on a forum where they do not know anyone.

I'll make an attempt in calming down.

Your asshattery has already been noted.
108  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Share pix / vidz of THE HORROR here on: 2009 June 12, 18:48:16
If you stock a pond, do the fish reproduce and keep the pond going, or do you then just have a pond with 10 fish?  Would he, in other words, have more than 10 fish to eat, if he stocked the pond with his 10 fish?

If you stock a homebase pond. the pond loses the variety available and become ONLY a spot to fish for the one variety you stocked.

You CAN stock more varieties, and then you'll have the first kind you stocked plus lthose fish in that pond.

Player-made ponds will apparently never feature jumping fish.
109  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Hidden Items on: 2009 June 12, 17:30:20
When you reach Pop Star level (9) in the Rock Musician job track, EA forces your Sims to be the kind of douchebags who wear sunglasses at all times. Women get dark round frames, men get silver aviators. Not a great perk, really.
110  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Broken Radio, anyone? on: 2009 June 10, 15:50:15
I believe that another player (Nec?) discovered that if your neighbors have a stereo on, it can keep you from playing anything but Custom music on your own.

To zorch this, one way is start with the stereo at the Gazebo (if you have Riverview), remove it,  and then check each household to remove the stereos from your non-playable family homes.

A pain in the ass.

My game, incidentally, doesn't have this issue. Yet.
111  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / World of Puddings / Re: Sim Lorelei, Flan-flavoured on: 2009 June 10, 15:32:39
I had an Elvis shirt?! He he, I'm not a fan, but that is still quite awesome.

This was pre-Pescadoean slider tweaking, so it was indeed an exercise in frustration not to get puddin'-face / chipmunk cheek syndrome.

Also, I changed the default Fireplace of Burnination to the safer model in the house file.
112  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / World of Puddings / Sim Lorelei, Flan-flavoured on: 2009 June 10, 06:22:19

Sim age group: YA
Real preferences:  I am attracted to: M

Lifetime Wish:
As shown, or Renaissance Sim, or whatever you pick that will be most fun for you.

If this is the correct file (I tweaked the non-uploaded version 1.0), it should have different hair assigned per outfit type. If you don't like that, and want to keep the same hair for all outfits or change them to styles you like better, that's fine. (If the hair changes aren't included and you want to see what they are, let me know. It's not very important to me, but I'll upload pix if it is important to you.)

Everything is packaged with the Sim, but you can modify whatever you like. It's your game. I'm not fussed.

BONUS:

Get 20x30 lot .TS3P file: http://www.4shared.com/file/110912262/48216fa/Lorelei_Lot.html
FYI: It looks like the lot includes the Sim.

Clever idea, Poofs!

Adding the pictures is very nice, too; will be especially useful to help ID Sims when 'hoods get crammed full of custom puddings.
116  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: The Good, the Bad, and the Randomly @Toaded on: 2009 June 08, 06:49:22
I'm annoyed that I can't tote an easel to community lots and do portraits of people and things there (the "paint from memory" trick is not the same), and that the newspaper can't be unsubscribed from. Enough with the newspapers!

I am not at home with my computer, but will give you the basics.

Thank you! Will keep plugging away. Does it only allow certain objects to be placed in a basement room? I keep getting "you're inside a foundation, no can do" kind of message.
119  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Share pix / vidz of THE HORROR here on: 2009 June 06, 04:09:01
My newly built lot in my game.

I have just spent an hour frustrated, trying to emulate your basement set-up.

HOW did you do this? I am stumped. Closest I got was following this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6oaIDSyn08

But the game yells when I try to put anything IN the basement, as it is "inside the foundation."  Also, foundation does not snap to ground level join between basement and ground floor; it leaves a trench between.

Please give a tutorial! Cheesy

I tried it with foundation first, then hole in the ground first, and I can't get the basement walls and foundation to line up properly.

HALP!

120  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / World of Puddings / Re: TS3 Spookymuffin on: 2009 June 05, 07:48:13
Why is there no metal? There is no metal probably due to the same reason we can't replace the annoying defaults with our own music, except for the custom channel.* RAWR.

Big Cat is displeased.

* I suspect some family-friendly excuse of some sort, myself. Or lazy coding. Goodness, what if Mom walks in on lil' Twelven Sheeplebritches listening to Incubus or Cannibal Corpse or Riskay or something while the game is playing? Some parentals might be obliged to complain to EA about "their" choice of appropriate dollhouse game music.
121  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: My review of TS3. What I liked, don't like. on: 2009 June 05, 06:50:52
Nice of you to review the game, but why you saw fit to start a brand new thread when a thread ALREADY EXISTS where people are reviewing their impressions of the game...THAT I do not understand. Kindly do a search next time to see if your desired topic of discussion already has a thread where it would fit.

Thanks.

Look. Check Hook's profile, especially his join date.

Now look at the join date of the people getting poked.

Hook's retardery was grandfathered in, because his retardery predated the MATY rules.

We don't deny that it is redundant, stupid and annoying, just that he is old and doing it deliberately to piss people off, and was doing it before other stupids thought it was a good idea to be redundant, stupid and annoying and then an even better idea to argue about why it is SO MEAN and UNFAIR that they are told to cease with that nonsense immediately.

On the plus side, we congratulate you for picking a most appropriate username.
