Hoorah for more Awesomeland!

And TS3 is still a big "meh" for me so far. It's been a week or two since I loaded it up.
52  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / World of Puddings / Re: Faizah 2.0: More images than ever. on: 2009 July 04, 22:21:51
Thessaly, perhaps?

Bingo! (Not that I'd seen that there was that particular spin-off title.)
53  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / World of Puddings / Re: Faizah 2.0: More images than ever. on: 2009 July 04, 16:51:01
Aw, she's kinda cute. And she is reminding me of a graphic novel character or character actress, but I'm pulling a blank. Maybe a second-tier character in Sandman.

God help you if you get anyone else 'helping' you, you whiny, spoonfed brats.

INORITE?

I was even pleasant when I wrote my response, and the idjit still got its butt all hurt.

Oh, nice, another dude MATY Sim.
56  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch released. on: 2009 July 04, 15:47:53
I'm officially frustrated, and have limited free time to PLAY TS3, much less time to dink around with patches that refuse to work. RAWR!

Nutshell: Originally had RLD, updated to RZR.

Patches here ( http://www.simprograms.com/the-sims-3-patches/patches-the-sims-3/ ) say "the installed game region is incorrect." I tried both, to be sure. Botheration. Game version claims to be 1.0.631.00002.

Tried replacing default Shaders_Win32.precomp, in case the altered Shaders_Win32.precomp was causing the problem. No go.

Tried removing Packages folder. No go.

Tried swapping out default skuversion.txt file for recommended new skuversion.txt file. Nope. Fail.

Also, not that it seems like it would matter, but I removed my four Cache files before trying to update, because I was installing new content and some pattern packages.

Did I miss any other suggestions in this thread I could try? I'm re-reading, but it looks like the other suggestions refer to non-00002 versions, or include stuff I have already tried.

NOW what?
57  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: What 5 Buy Mode objects would you like Modders to make first? on: 2009 July 04, 00:40:25
Cabinets or shelves for display items...useful cabinets / closets / display cases
Object mods that introduce new animations or behaviors to the game that add realism, story-telling possibilities or new gameplay options.
Recolorable stairs / stoops / ladders in a variety of shapes and sizes.
More USEFUL clutter and the ability to put clutter in more places, and clutter that is IN SCALE with Sims
NON-TACKY landscaping decor premades like small bridges and docks, bird feeders, bird baths, gazebos, koi ponds, stone lanterns, rocks you can sit on

Also:
Hair and clothes meshes that don't suck rocks.
I also wish there were more hidden surprises, such as, if a Sim approaches a rose bush, it finds it can cut and display a bunch of cut roses in a vase in its house...or unadvertised rabbitholes or useable beaches (for swimming), etc. You can exhaust all the variations and awards and so on that the game offers in less than a couple of days.
58  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Where are all the townies? on: 2009 July 03, 23:17:14
In RV, I find that empty commlots fill up with townies after my controlled Sims arrive and start doing something. Occasioanlly I'll see them out gardening or commuting to and from work, but usually they don't show up until I've lurked in one spot long enough for the game to generate them there.
59  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: The Sims 3 Expansion In My Head on: 2009 July 03, 23:12:01
Okay, so according to http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,13970.msg412370.html#msg412370, there's vampires in the game. And now I read this, and no vampires. So which is it? Or are they just probably coming or something?

The easiest answer is that the post you are referring to is Lies and Propaganda posted back in February...well, more precisely, it is a response based on Lies and Propaganda posted back in February, long before the game was actually released. There were a lot of people talking out of their asses at that point, and a lot of rumours of features and themes that did not come to pass, because someone either innocently got it wrong, or felt like spreading false rumours to get attention.

Why you felt the need to latch onto that particular Lie with all the other Propaganda being spouted at the time, is a mystery only you can answer.
60  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: The Sims 3 Expansion In My Head on: 2009 July 02, 19:11:21
But you know what else would be a great expansion in your head?
A WATERMELON expansion.

WIN!

61  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Important notice from the GRAMMAR POLICE. Plz read. This means you. on: 2009 July 02, 19:04:17
the person to whom I'm speaking is so enthusiastically impressed with my meager smattering of lingual skillz that regardless of what I just said or asked, the answer I receive is, "Wah, so good your Cantonese la!" Say thanks in Cantonese, begin to ask the question again. "You live here long time?" Two years, begin 3rd attempt at question. "Why you not speak Mandarin? Is much easier la." And there goes my bus. Thank you for your assistance.

So I suppose Amy Tan got the speech patterns exactly right! Tongue

Change your nick, n00b, one Booblebrox is enough around here.

Perhaps it is a case of one account per head.
63  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Baby name from Hell on: 2009 July 02, 10:50:07
Hey, the new sims 3 challenge. Find that buggy name before storymode kicks in. This should be in the challenges thread.  Cheesy

LOL. I suspect Pescado will fiddle with this and auto-rename all Asterisk Tsunami Babbyz "Trogdor Burninator" (boys) and "Delishus Caek" (girls).
64  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Share pix / vidz of THE HORROR here on: 2009 July 02, 06:34:50
I think the pressure is getting to Grimmie:

Creepily enough, I immediately thought of those freaky "weeping angel stone statue monsters" in the Dr. Who "Blink" episode. Which is mostly scary due to the "surprise! spaceship cat gives you a heart attack" startle effect (like in 99% of all horror movies, especially "Alien").

ETA: The pertinent bit from that: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hfwnyprXCj8

Boo!
65  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Think of the children! (Bad Parenting in the Sims 3) on: 2009 July 01, 04:45:54
As has been noted, real parents do occasionally get it on with real children just on the other side of a standard interior wall

Wow, I read that completely the wrong way. I might go scrub my brain clean now.

Sorry. I don't speak Pedobearish, and didn't realize my phrasing would be taken that way. My bad.
66  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Rummaging in front of the neighbors -- why don't they care? on: 2009 July 01, 03:47:41
It varies as to what their reaction is. Your chances are much probably greater of getting an annoying interruption if you've queued 7 more houses after the one at which you're currently bin-rummaging, because all the queued bins-to-rummage will drop out of queue. Rawr.

"Pardon me, I cannot pause to be Mildly Insulted / Invited Inside at the moment, as I am v. v. busy messing about with your trash."
67  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Think of the children! (Bad Parenting in the Sims 3) on: 2009 July 01, 02:38:19
I know parents have sex, but... ahh fuck it.

It'd be bad parenting if the kids were in the same room.
What if the wall was über thin?

If it bothers you that your pixel parents are getting it on next door to their SLEEPING pixel sproggen, then it is YOUR fail as Sims Deity for not designing the house in such a way that the bedrooms would be further apart.

As has been noted, real parents do occasionally get it on while their real children are just on the other side of a standard interior wall, and these kids manage not to grow up to be Emo cutters over it.

ETA4clarity.

Oh, but the fight goes on. Apparently, now, if Pescado continues to let me capshun, that makes him a GURL.

Indeed. Logs indicate that it has been almost five days of tiresome whining, on and off.
69  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / World of Puddings / Re: Though We're (Mostly) Souped, La Resistance Lives On: Ella and Fairlight Pudding on: 2009 June 29, 03:24:43
je-ne-sais-boob.

*spit take*

Nice turn of phrase there, Nails.

Also, about 12 hours, on and off, of #grah whining and attempts to bargain have been thwarted, which is a relief.
70  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: New Hair CC on: 2009 June 25, 21:47:57
Well I could say its a step forward but not so much when it replaces a existing hair.

That would be my primary complaint, as well.

Do the colour wheel options work with it?
71  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Share pix / vidz of THE HORROR here on: 2009 June 23, 11:24:43
It could be sadorandom Sim spawning. I've noticed that it is not unusual for gems / etc. to get spawned UNDER HEDGES. Sims can't reach them, walk through them, or access the stupid gems / etc. in any way.

Makes sense that EA would fail to spawn Sims in reasonable places like on sidewalks.

One day you might find one drowning in the unswimmable pond in the park.
72  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Share pix / vidz of THE HORROR here on: 2009 June 22, 16:57:56
I don't know how she got there, but there is a Sim stuck in Central Park, trapped between the fence and hedges.

Honestly, if it can't extricate itself on its own, you probably don't want it wandering about loose and possibly breeding.

Zaza and MetalKatt need to make with the .sim-filin', because I am not going to randomly shove .package files willy-nilly into the game to get my MATYsims, but DO WANT to Catch Them All. Tongue
75  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: I would like a Smoking Mod - Can it be done? on: 2009 June 21, 01:09:45
Katy from the now defunct PCSims (?) made the smokable cigarettes. The files are probably still floating around if you still play TS2.
