I just don´t know how it can be done, but I downloaded this file http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=106552 and suddenly the flyby movie showed a winter landscape in Pleasantview instead of the normal green. So the REIA file showed the actual hood and not some pre recorded movie .......

There must be a way to edit or maybe make our own REIA movies ... how

Maybe ask the person who did the snow thing.  I don't know of anyone who's been able to make .reia movies though.

I don´t think that it have anything to do with the "hood-mod" ... but the REIA movie did show the changes I had made in the hood ... but I haven´t head of anyone who have managed create or change the REIA file(s) ... anyway, if the game can change it, then we can also change it ...

The reason why I´m posting it here, is that I do believe that some of the guys in here have a better change to figure it out, than I have

I´m really not looking for any answers, it´s more that I hope that someone would take up the challenge

Are you sure that was the .REIA and not the neighbourhood drift feature?

Yep ... I´m sure ... but you can test it your self ... just download the file and place it in your Downloads folder and enter Pleasantview

There's no .reia in those downloads.
The reia file is the preview you see *before* you enter the neigbourhood.  What you see is the neigbourhood drift.

Yes, the .reia file is the 'movie' that plays in the button for that hood on the hood selection screen. After the hood loads it's just doing the flyby and the drift, which has nothing at all to do with the .reia file.

I agree that there must be a way to edit those, but only if Maxis/EA releases their program since it is apparently custom.

I removed the .reia and the flyby was still there 

I really did believe that the flyby was part of the .reia file ... oh well, better luck next time I guess

So has Metroid Menace just given the existing flyby snow terrain, or has he figured out how to make new flyby's?

I think that the flyby just show what´s in the hood at the time you load ... but I´m not really sure anymore 

The download "just" exchange the grass terrain with snowy terrain.
