If you do end up having to replace it, you can always just use "BuyDebug" and plop a new/already grown one in it's place for free.  No nuts required!
2  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch ponderings... on: 2009 August 03, 12:08:49
Legal - No problems.  I just moved any altered files off to my desktop and replaced them right from the disk.  Patch installed fine and I just plopped everything that would still work back where I wanted it.

Maybe I'm missing something but I could swear my preggo sims have had normal tummies (nothing missing).  I'd love to see a screenshot of this so I can know what to look for in my game.

"Workaholic", has a SIGNIFICANT effect because your sim can grind performance to make sure he gets the promotion.

Does working at home actually do anything to raise job performance? I sat there watching my sim do it for several sim hours but her job performance bar did not go up at all.

Also, does Lucky effect chances of anything? I feel like it does but don't have any hard data on it.

Supposedly Angler and Natural Cook give some Fishing and Cooking bonuses respectively. I feel like they're relatively minor though.

Working at home should cause their work performance to increase.  I've had workaholic sims earn enough to get a full promition in one sleepless night on their computer.

Natural cook is a tiny bit more subtle but they will never burn food and can save you a bit of money when keeping your sims happy with food related moodlets with the "kick it up a notch" interaction they get with meals.  It makes it very easy to get "perfect" meals out of less than perfect ingredients.

The only thing I have noticed with Angler (and this could be strictly cooncidence since I've only ever made 2 sims with that trait) is that they seem to catch better quality fish a bit sooner than sims without it.  I don't find that overly usefull because any sims given enough time to max out the skill will end up catching plenty of high quality fish anyway.

For ambrosia, you can't serve it, you can only have it (one plate only). I've seen it under breakfast, but never looked for it under lunch or dinner.  With Awesomemod, it should be there all the time.

Aha!  Thank you, I didn't even think to look under the single serving stuff.  I knew it had to be me just being a complete idiot (as usual).  I can't seem to store it in the replicator either and I thought that was an option.  Oh well, at least now I can make it.

Do you have to read the recipe first?

Yes, you have to buy the recipe and learn that first.

Does anyone else get the criminal career broken if a superspy sim raids the warehouse? I remember someone mentioning that, wonder if it's random borkage or if it's always like that.

I've only had one sim in that career so far and had no problems raiding the warehouse (yet).

For my own issue, I can't seem to make Ambrosia no matter what I do!  I'm hoping it's just tight pants but I certainly can't see what it is I'm missing.  My sim is maxed in cooking, knows how to make the recipe, has all the ingredients (as far as I know) but can't make the damned Ambrosia no matter what time of day I try it or what pie menu I look under.

Can someone who has successfully made this dish give me an "Ambrosia for Idiots" breakdown?  I just don't want to think that my game is quite that borked that I can't even cook such an important dish.

The ghosts however are far more interesting the regular sims (at least this minute).   Does anyone know if the array of colors they come in has to do with the way they died or the family they're in?  Of course that assumes EA took the time to give it any meaning.  They might have just decided the pretty rainbows would awe us into wonderment.

Yes, their colors are affected by how they died.  Pink/Purple = Starvation, Yellow(ish) with the lightening = Electrocution, Blue = Drowning, Orange = Fire, and White = Old age.

You can find a picture in the thread about torturing/killing your sims.

Here's a question for the floor: if you know that what you're going to say is stupid and pointless, why on earth would you bother to post it?

Rohina already answered that for us with "lack of impulse control."

Is it just me or does she have a goatee in the child picture?

What does it say about me if I always write I in print, even when the rest of my writing is (mostly) in cursive?

That you fail at writing in cursive.  Wink

Damn! Both beaten and outdone by a non-n00b.  I have much to learn, it seems.
11  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Store & Exchange Open for viewing on: 2009 May 29, 16:16:11
If you click on the lot to get further details and then click on the "images" tab, you can see the floor plan for each level.  Well, sort of.  The pictures I've seen so far are all taken from a distance so it's hard to see any detail.

One thing that bothers me is they all say "Occupied" but there is no information about a family that may or may not be stuck into the lot. *See below.

ETA:  I see now that when you click on them to get details, even the ones that say yes to being occupied list residents as 0.
12  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Store & Exchange Open for viewing on: 2009 May 29, 16:09:04
Who comes up with this crap?  The only thing I want from that site, is the new town.
The creators camp?

Not very creative, are they?

Could we expect anything more when tons of those invited were from T$R?
13  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: What would you call a Sims3Pack editor? on: 2009 May 29, 15:57:58
"Sims Threekshow." would be my top choice if it was in the vote.
14  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Store & Exchange Open for viewing on: 2009 May 29, 15:45:04
The Store is how I expected it to be: overpriced and filled with craptastic items that will most likely need to be tweeked and fixed by modders.

On another note, it looks like they have really made the story making process easier.  It appears as if you upload images and then arrange the story online.  I am cringing at the fact that audio is now included - something about BBS stories and audio just doesn't settle well with me.

At least you're supposed to be able to turn off the sound.  Let's hope that isn't a big fat liecake.
15  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Important notice from the GRAMMAR POLICE. Plz read. This means you. on: 2009 May 29, 15:42:25
Thats just the way i type. I don't use silly n00b speak, or 'pmsl' everywhere, but yeah, i do cut corners with capital I's. And it's not riddled with errors. And 'in your opinion is annoying', yes. I also love the way you use 'we' to refer to yourselves. It's like your a cult or something. You seem to forget you don't own the site, even if you feel you are some type of minion. Pescado hasn't once really said anything himself about how to behave with grammar, this thread wasn't even created by him! I said i understood, now you are telling me AGAIN that i don't and telling me the reason why you think it. I'm careful that i type things to an 'alright' standard, but i know i just won't be able to keep to making sure every tiny thing is done 'the proper' way. And it has nothing to so with doing it 'intentionally'. It's my habit, but it gets me by. If the guy in charge asks me to try harder than perhaps it's more worth thinking about.

I'm not trying to 'win' anything. Was just having a conversation

I really don't think you want Pes to come in here to tell you anything.  You're likely to just get summarily nuked if he has to trouble himself with you.
16  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Store & Exchange Open for viewing on: 2009 May 29, 15:10:53
Every single item at The Store could glow with the light of the heavens and I still wouldn't buy it.  Now if they could get it to wash my car, do the dishes, or mow the lawn I may change my mind.
17  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Important notice from the GRAMMAR POLICE. Plz read. This means you. on: 2009 May 29, 14:54:42
We can only take things the way you type them.  That is what everyone is saying.
18  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Important notice from the GRAMMAR POLICE. Plz read. This means you. on: 2009 May 29, 14:30:21
As far as i knew 'I' wrote how 'I' meant things to be taken, but 'I' mustn't have written it easy enough for you because it ended up not being taken that way. So perhaps we BOTH made a mistake. Maybe you should have been more careful how you took it.

Okay, stop with the 'I' crap.  That is childish and definitely not what was asked of you.  Your obvious butthurt over being told that you're not following the forum rules is just showing again with this latest post you've made.  Just stop arguing and trying to justify your stupidity already and get with the program or leave.  It's simple really, and you're not doing yourself any favors by keeping this up.

CharleeRose, I also think it is possible certain cheats, initially planned, were taken out later.

Yes, ciane.  That's what I was getting at when I said that EA loved to change things after giving Prima their information.  Wink
20  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: THE HORROR: The REAL TS3 Scoop As It Unfolds on: 2009 May 29, 03:25:03
Either the Prima is full of crap (which wouldn't shock me - EA does love to change things after giving Prima the information).  Or they just aren't working in the version that has been available on the torrents.

I guess we'll just have to wait until June 2 to find out if they work in that version.  I'm not holding my breath though.

I just wanted to let you all know that someone posted over at Snootysims that they have recieved the Prima Guide early.  I'm not sure how helpful it will be because I've only just started reading it myself but it can't hurt, right?

Here is the link http://snootysims.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=29573

ETA: I just got around to reading the cheat code section in this post and saw "edit in cas - takes the sim back to Create-a-Sim allowing you to make full physical and personality changes".  I'm very cureious as to how this works.  Anyone willing to test it out on one of the horribley ugly demon spawn?

It seems like all the options under testincheats had been changed into actual cheats that are typed in.  Some of those look to be very useful especially the throw into cad edit one.  DEATH TO FUGLY TOWNIES.

I was thinking the same thing.  Maybe EA decided to dumb down debug mode so idiots that didn't bother to learn how to use it properly wouldn't be able to explode their games with it.
22  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: Choosing Sex of Babies on: 2009 May 29, 02:37:28
Gender in TS3 appears to be somewhat more controllable than in TS2: There's a cheesecake effect at work. Eating foods containing "watermelon" increases the chance of females, eating foods containing "apple" increases males.
I never got the Prima Guide for TS2, and heard about the "Cheese Cake Twins" from here (MATY). My question to any one with the Prima Guide for TS2: Was, 'how to have twins' mentioned in the guide?
Because without having the awesomeness that Pes has, how would your Average Joe now that by eating Apples and Watermelon would determine the sex of the baby in TS3?

I have the guide and, yes, it did say to eat cheesecake to get twins.

As for your question of how would us "regular Joes" know to eat/avoid certain foods, we wouldn't.  You expect something EA does to make sense? LOL  They just wait for people like the great Pes to bail their asses out.
23  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: Choosing Sex of Babies on: 2009 May 29, 02:28:29
I guess this is good news in the long run.  I think I'll mind avoiding either apples or watermelon during pregnancy much less annoying than having to generate and trash random sims each time I start up the game.

Gender has to be determined earlier than in The Sims 2; high level doctor Sims have an interaction for pregnant Sims that tells you what gender the baby will be.

Someone in the other thread reported a birth resulting in a boy rather than a girl after having to reload from a crash.  The save happened after conception in that instance.  How soon can the doctor tell the gender?

by reloading and trying again, Yes or No?

I've tried reloading four times and got boys all 4 times. This makes me think sex might be determined at woohoo (unlike sims2), but it's of course not enough attempts to be sure. Anyone confirm this?

Could this be caused by the same sadorandom generator fail as Sims 2?  Have you tried creating a few random sims and seeing if the results repeat?  It may be a stupid idea, but I figured it might be worth a try to see if it's the same deal we had in TS2.

I have not arr'd the game, so I can't check this myself to try and help you, sorry.
