Wipe "met x" memory?
« on: 2007 June 18, 07:50:59 »
THANKS THIS IS GREAT

Is there a hack to wipe all "met x" memories (similar to the Lot Debugger option "wipe mystery sim")? It's pretty annoying to have to scroll through a bazillion of "met bla" to find memories you're looking for.

Any help would be highly appreciated Grin

Well, I've been thinking of that for awhile, but now that it's clear that it's not just a personal thing, it'll be in the next debugger.

I didn't have a problem with this until OFB, when business owners suddenly had so many met sim memories that it was hard to find anything else in the clutter.

You know, it's up already, right? Currently purges the trash memories of Met Sim, Met Pet, and Move-In/Move-Out.

I wonder if we could bully Theo into making a SimPE wizard plugin to do this en masse for a whole neigbourhood.

It is not that much of a stretch to just make the Debugger do that, too, but since the issue is harmless and not even strictly a bug, I haven't felt the need for such a thing. The Debugger is already capable of expunging gossip on a neighborhood-wide level.

I'm loving the gossip-expunging thing, too -- think I'll purge my hoods of gossip and drop a no autonomous gossip mod in.

I have that mod, and they still gossip. Then again, it is a non-awesome mod (by Squinge), so that could explain why the sims still gossip, even when they're not supposed to.

I clear gossip every generation now. It makes perfect sense for the zombies to gossip (in theire rare non-cheese obsessed moments)about Harley and Hazel's consecutive tag-team deaths-by-scaring since they are the current generation's grandparents, but not to gossip about April's burning a poptart. That was 9-10 generations ago.

Does this help with the 'Met Self' bug that can occur and cause problems in a neighborhood?

Essentially, if I run this aspect of the newly spiffy debugger, does it clear that up sufficiently? (For those sims that got it before I put the hack in that prevents that memory?)

Would it be possible to have an option to delete the 'mystery sim' memories or will that still need to be done manually?

I'm pretty sure that function is already included, though I could have been hallucinating when I saw it as an option.

Note that the Mystery Sim can only be deleted if it would not break chronology. I.E., you have to wipe the mystery sim BEFORE your sim goes about getting any kisses.

Or if, for example, you make a CAS Sim with kids but no spouse.  The Mystery Sim memories that refer to the non-existant spouse are stuck there for good.  And rightly so - it just wouldn't do for a Sim to get their Very First WooHoo memory after they'd already had kids...

I'm glad I read this thread- the "meet x" ones are annoying, but I really hate those "move in/out" ones.
