Awesomemod is not yet compatible with the expansion Pack

J. M. Pescado:
Just that particular one. It's caused by the game trying to assign two maptags to the same object, which, since the maptags are stored by a dictionary using the target object as a key, is no-go. AwesomeMod fixes this by checking to see if the object already exists, and then discarding the duplicate.

but my game keeps crashing (although I didn't get the core mismatch warning)

what is going on ???

You do realise that AM is not yet compatible with WA or a 1.6/1.7 patched game?

The current version of AM available for download is only compatible with a 1.4.6 patched game.  The new 1.6/1.7/WA compatible version should be available soon, as Pescado has mentioned in other posts.

Using the current AM on any other game version causes it to crash, as has been stated previously.

Kjs: Make sure your game hasn't set itself back to auto update as well. I think it may default to that if you have reinstalled. Did you move the mod framework to WA and possiblly forget to move it back when you uninstalled? Forgot the mod dll file perhaps? Have you tried loading the game without any CC in at all yet to make sure it works without the CC?

J. M. Pescado:
Well, since I haven't heard any anguished wails of doom from the first testers, we can commence the public test. You can get the Base 1.7.9/WA 2.2.8 AwesomeMod here. Base and WA at the latest patch level seem to have the same core, so one item works for both, as mentioned.

wizard_merlin:
Can you confirm if AM MUST be installed in the WA game folders, or does it work OK from the base game folders?

Tried the link, but got 404'ED!
