I know I'm new. Deal with it. I'm a low-vision guy who made a "low-vision" guy who I'll give to you guys to fiddle around with but these pictures prove that no matter how pretty a game is and no matter how close to art video games are in general, nothing (and I mean NOTHING) can escape the method/madness of this shirt!

Can someone explain that sentence to me? In particular the last bit?

It works if you read it backwards, i.e. "With this shirt you can ruin any game no matter how beautiful it is, these pictures prove it, you guys can download and play around with this ugly guy made by an ugly guy. Deal with it. I know I'm new."

I don't have the game. Yet.  However, if anyone would be so kind, I'd love to see pictures of buy and build mode. Google is surprisingly sparse.

Thank you! Will keep plugging away. Does it only allow certain objects to be placed in a basement room? I keep getting "you're inside a foundation, no can do" kind of message.

Everything can go in the basement. You must start with a full foundation and cut away the area you want to be the living area. Refer to Jonesi's tutorial, the first image is the way it should start out and next is the cutaway (holding down ctrl and dragging what you want deleted) with the one tile left all around the foundation.  Use the stair method, 3 levels down (be sure to have move objects on) to get the wall height right and level the ground from the last stair level. Then you will  be able to place things cause the wall height is right.

If not right, will not be able to have walls or anything level down there. If you have problems, just PM me. I will try to get a PDF on basements.

I haven't tried to make a basement in TS3 yet, but in TS2 what I would do was put wallpaper on  the foundation. Then I'd keep lowering the ground until I saw the bottom of the paper. This is probably still valid.

At first, I didn't think to pick it up since it looked like a terrain doodad. Then as I was scrolling away, I did a doubletake. It looked suspiciously like a... egads.

So my Sim cheerily went up to it and swiped it to put it into his Hammerspace. This now redefines the term "butthurt noob" for I.

To simsdesperado: What is that thing to the left of the shark? I can't make it out if it supposed to be a buoy or a sim.

I think the coloured thing by the shark is a fish jumping out of water. By the looks of it could be a clownfish. In the far background it is a buoy indeed.
