Is there a hack/mod for skintone...

THANKS THIS IS GREAT

Ok, i'm fairly new to the sims 2 but I noticed that everytime I have an interracial couple, for example a black and white couple, the babies will either come out dark or pale. I want them to be tan like mixed children are...is there anyway i can select the babies skintone once they are born???

Are they custom skintones? If so, then you need to geneticize them.

If the skins are the lightest and darkest of the game choices (S1 and S4), then you're just having a sadarandom attack. Patience, or SimPE, could fix that.

Need help with any of the above? Just ask. We aim to please...sometimes. Wink

And here's the tutorial I recommend. Enjoy.

I haven't died. I moved to the American South. Rumors to the contrary are highly exaggerated.

Should that mean anything?

If you're using the default maxis skins, you might consider adding these skins to the mix

I think you'll have to genetcize them yourself, but it's not difficult.

You might also want to check out the Maxis Match Skintones here - http://spiritworldfiles.com/sims2/skintones.php

While these don't include extra pale and extra dark skintones like Purplepaws' set, they come pre-binned and there are several gradations between the Maxis 3 and 4 skintones, which is pretty nice since those two are quite far apart.  Of course, nothing at all prevents you from using both or mixing and matching.

You could also be suffering from a variation of the 'firstborn effect' in which, if you don't either randomise a bunch of times in CAS at least once during each play session (or use the Lot Debugger to randomise), then your sims' offspring will always turn out looking exactly like either one of the parents (among other things).
