Buyable food.... No cooking required-- Anyone know where to download?
« on: 2007 May 13, 22:02:02 »
THANKS THIS IS GREAT

In a attempt to be completely lazy, I am wondering is there buyable food? I have exemn's food but has anyone made the Maxis(cookable) foods into buy mode buyables?

Or any other foods into buy mode buyables for that matter?

If you're looking for custom foods, there's quite a few on the sims mod board that come straight out of the 'frig without needing cooking, including raw fruits and veggies which is kinda nice but it does sorta make your refrigerator menu a big mess.

There's also a kinda nice vending machine that serves full plates, but there is a cost to it.

I really wanted this for a 'Food' shop I was making, but I think Squinge said there is a problem with extracting the foods to put in the buy catalogue. They disappear or something.

It's a bummer, isn't it? Cheesy Most custom buyable foods don't work with the OFB shelves either.

Yeah, but they are uneatable. I know, there's no pleasing me Grin

I wanted to have maxis extracted food as they don't show up as custom content.

Shoot.. I was looking for the same thing last night. I wanted to set up packed shops in the Bluewater of my legacy 'hood. That way I could access all the goodies without cheating.  >=)

Simslice (Wintermuteai1, I believe) has buyable Maxis group meals. They can probably be found in the booty.

So far, issues on my end.. lol

It seems the trays can't be placed inside the refrigerated shelving of OFB's bakeries, etc.
I'll try again later with placing them in open-air shelving for sale and see if they go bad.

Just an FYI: If you want individual servings, you can have somebody serve the meals, but stop the action before the sim actually eats any of them, and then put the individual servings in the business-owner's inventory. I haven't tried putting the meals on shelves, since I don't allow my sims to own restaurants or bakeries. I do know that sometimes the shelves go buggy, and you have to sell them and replace them with new ones.

Dropped a platter on the counter when Casandra Goth was busy making me chase her and her red plumbbob around with a rez maker.. everyone came and took their plate.. ate... and then walked away leaving behind what appeared to be full platters of food. XD

Clicking brought only "clean up" so I know they were empty. My guess is someone forgot to include a "partially eaten" and "empty plate" mesh.

I noticed that too. Chalk it up to Simslice being sucky.
