Editing DMA NPC's

THANKS THIS IS GREAT

Ok, I have been play-testing the DMA NPC's (Live-in maid, etc.), but I really don't like how they are listed in the Services dialog. Anyone out there more awesome than me able to point me in the right direction as to which Resource to edit in SimPE to change.

Example:
Instead of the Service Dialog listing "dmaNPC: Bettie Tidwell, Housekeeper", I would like to just have it say "Live-in Housekeeper (Bettie)" so it would be shorter and wouldn't automatically come before all the Maxis services.

Have you tried asking the people at DMA? If it is their hack they are probably best suited to assisting you.

I did, but they so far seem to have the opinion that the common end user doesn't know his head from a hole in the ground and will only muck things up if they try to do something as simple as to change one text string.

Just search through the files for the offending text strings and try changing them. Not a difficult concept.

Not to mention that they claim to run otherwise hack-free games, and any problem with their stuff caused by another hack isn't their problem. Because of these attitudes I've pretty much stopped using their non-bordello NPCs and switched to Christianlov's. If it weren't so handy to have a bordello or two setup with their NPCs to keep my romance sims happy, I'd dump all of them (and very well may, in favor of setting up OFB-type bordellos instead).
