I only played one family with a kid and it happened while he was macro-socialising with his grandpa - they were chatting about birds at the time so it looked cute

I just saw this for the first time.  A child was watching her mother give birth and doing the usual weird hand-waving, and every time she did she started levitating.  I'll have to have her chat with people and see if she does it again.

But was there a sloution to this other than growing them up and then back down?

I get an error with mine and the child is a townie. This didn't happen until after I installed Pets. My child townie can't interact with anyone.

I've had this happen when the youngest Grunt kid chats with the General. It is very peculiar. I've also noticed, since installing Pets, that every so often a lot will freeze up and there are weird spinning weeds in the yard. As soon as I remove the weeds with MoveObjects on, the lot returns to normal. Undecided

My sim was chatting with another simkid in the middle of a shoot for a video I was doing, and he began floating. Was the first time I'd seen it, I caught it on video.

(note the video itself is a horrible, horrible pun I made to entertain my boyfriend one day) on the line "I have a girlfriend, and she is so blue" you can see the phenomenon. Since I barely edited it at all, you can see he was merely chatting with the other kid:

Seems like floating is the new "faceless."

Sleepycat, I love your silver-haired sim's almost complete lack of clothing. I'd try that, but I'd need a Mystic Tan and I'd probably get arrested.  Cheesy

I see it a lot too during general conversation.  I also see it a lot when I tell the kid to Macro/Kick Stuff.

It isn't just the kids.  This stray showed up at a funeral on a community lot.

I just noticed the floating kid thing last week. I take it that no one has figured out what is causing it?

I've had them since Pets.  The kids look like they are jumping on a stool to use a wall phone.  But there's no stool or phone; just another Sim.  Random events.

Pre-levitation practice?

 Shocked

What in the world?? That is freaky! It reminds me of some old nearly forgotten sci-fi movie where they were trying to invent teleporters (?) and the things they were teleporting kept getting put back together wrong.

My sim kids stopped with the jumping in the air when I aged them up and then back down again. I have never seen the freaky dog-sim. Are you sure your games are not haunted?
