Hah! and I never thought to get a gorgonzola-gorging Sim this far. The chubby cheddar-consumer has stuffed down all 200 of his emmental edibles and is now a PermaPlat parmesan-partaker.
Oh the glory of the feta foraging fromage lifestyle!

I wasn't sure if it could even be done. Did you prolong their life by using elixers along the way or were they able to fulfill their LTW with a normal sim lifespan?

Normal lifespan if you can call the limberger-lunching lunatic normal. Within 2 days of elderhood this mozarella-munching maniac GOT THERE

I am really enjoying this alliteration, I must say.  Cheesy

I am impressed! I am trying to get there now. I wish there was some kind of progress meter, like for the novel-writing hack. I can just see the little bar over their heads....

Not quite what you asked for, but Squinge made a hacked painting that will count how many grilled sandwiches they've eaten:

Mod the Sims 2 has a meter you can download to monitor the progress of the mozarella-munching madness. It served me well.

The great thing about the squinge painting is that it also counts friends, lovers, woohoos, dates, and wealth...  covers all possible LTWs, really.

erm...  it's a painting...  it counts...  the problem?

Seriously, no conflicts at all, it doesn't change anything, it just counts things.

And it also has nothing to do with the inSImenator.  It's a completely different modder from the creator of inSIM, who's hosted on that site and also posts at ModTheSims2.

Wait a minute - there are people who count a normal sim lifespan as not including Elixir Of Life?

yes!  me!

I never use elixir...  ever!  My sims are currently giving birth to the 7th or 8th generation...  I'd go stark raving mad if I had to look at the same sims any longer than I do.  In fact, I've often been known to severely shorten a sim's natural life span when I get bored with them.

Each to their own.

Me too -- I pretty much almost never use the elixir. I use Twojeff's mod to adjust the life phases so they're adult longer and elder shorter, so there's little need to extend their lives any more than they already get.  About the only times I'll use the elixir is to lessen the gap if there's a big difference in age between spouses/significant others, and I don't want them to really be a 'May-December' sort of romance.

As others pointed out, the painting I mentioned is made by a different moder, who just happens to be hosted on the insimenator site.

As for the insimenator itself, there were some problems with it long ago, but it's been quite safe for a while now.  It's  a handy tool that mainly just gives you quick access to things that you can otherwise access through the testing cheats anyway.  Just saves you the effort of having to wade through all the testing cheat menus to find what you're looking for. Now, it's your choice not to use it, but you should check out the current state of it before condemning it.

I never use the elixier.  When a sim has maxed all skills, fulfilled any other notable wants and spawned a suitable offspring, what more is there to do?
I don't want  bunch of sims walking around like permaplat zombies, eat, sleep, use the bathroom, go to work, repeat, forever.  Once they've spawned, it's time to snuff it.

Permaplat is nice if you expect a sim to die soon, but otherwise:

Pro: Don't have to worry about aspirational failure.
Con: You can't tell at a glance if they're in a bad mood.

See, I always tell myself that no, this time I will NOT use the elixir, but then they pop out another kid or something and I go, "no, no, they HAVE to at least be alive for this kid to hit teen," and I cave and feed them elixir. And then something else happens and I'm all, "they at least deserve to look young for this party," and I cave again. So I've yet to have someone die of old age apart from Pollination Technician in Strangeville. And no one has transitioned past adult. Embarrassed

The way I play is, if I'm not emotionally invested it's boring to play them, but once I'm invested I just can't let go.

When a sim has maxed all skills, fulfilled any other notable wants and spawned a suitable offspring, what more is there to do?

Lots of vacations, all-out extravagant parties, constant makeovers, etc, etc. The usual stuff pple who have everything do in real life.

I don't often use the elixir, but it can come in handy if you want to prevent granny from croaking in the middle of some poor toddler's birthday.

I never use the elixer.  Don't really know why but it could be because I get sick of staring at the same sims day after day.  Change is good. Smiley

It's harsh but also extremely funny if you can manage it. It has only happened a couple of times and the resulting trauma is fibre building...  Tongue

I recently rotated through my neighborhood so five of my elder sims could die off. It was time for them to go, and even still it was hard. I'm such a mush.

I generally only use the elixer to even out spousal ages. Especially with the age adjustment hack, which makes adult lifespans longer and elder lifespans shorter. It's better if the turn elder within a couple of days of each other instead of a week apart.

I don't really use Elixir at all, anymore. I have no real desire to extend the lives of typical sims for the heck of it, and if I'm going to keep a sim around forever, I'll make him a vampire! For fine-adjust purposes, the shift-click options on the Sync Timer work out better.
